There's nothing really wrong with Graces F's CC system outside of the lack of any sort of aerial combat, whichi is not the CC's fault, if anything it actually rebalanced the broken mess that was Destiny DC's own CC system, and by a fair bit, DC is a good game but there's no hiding that as soon as you get halfway through the game any sort of challenge you can have evaporates due to having easy infinites, post game is even worse.
What Graces went overboard with was sidestepping and perfect guards, but again, Destiny DC wasn't any different and it had more and far bigger problems.

Abyss got the 3DS remaster which actually removed loading times the PS2 suffered horribly from and added proper widescreen (that not even emulation will give you, all 2D elements are stretched to shit when emulating with widescreen hack, that includes skits).
When can we expect more Arise news?
Symphonia was the last truly quality tales game. Abyss was good but plagued by technical issues and lack of polish. Vesperia's third act is a complete mess and the game is too short. The series dove off a cliff after that.

Is this a normal mode thing? This complaint pops up every now and then here but in the 15 years I've played the game a standard playthrough has never ended up like that. The only solo chaos I've ever done was Leon side which granted does end before the halfway point, but the bosses were more like megaman fights than anything with most of them taking a couple of hours to get down.
This game would be received so much better in the west if Richard separated from Lambda and was in the party the whole game.

Now split story and characters into two categories and Vesperia ends up last in the former.
I can't remember any of the stories from Tales games, except Vesperia, which I just replayed. And yes, it was pretty dumb. I don't play Tales for the story, but the cast and their interactions are pretty important.
I'd rather know their weight.
Graces F was one of the very rare times I dropped a game because of an unengaging story.
Combat was good but fuck man, everyone was just annoying the fuck out of us

You don't want Rebirth it drops off a fucking cliff harder than any game in the series after the first act. The last 30 hours of the game is just going back and forth from city to city and talking to every single npc over and over again. The battle system is amazing but there's so little gameplay it's impossible to ignore just how bad the story is like you usually can in Tales.

I've no idea how it happened, none of the other team Destiny games are like that. It's like a far worse version of Vesperia making your party split off every single town so you can go have the exact same conversation with them. The first arc is perfectly paced with a really clear goal, in-depth well designed dungeons with constant forward momentum and memorable and clever boss fights. Then arc 2 hits and it just completely shits itself and you're going back and forth between two towns for 5 hours solving newspaper word puzzles and listening to a child reading the wikipedia article on racism. With the only thing keeping you going being wondering if the spirit at the top of the next copy-pasted berseria tier dungeon will actually fight you this time. Only two of the six do.
