I remember trying to play 7 long after it had come out because my friends like it. I got to the Gold Saucer and stopped. The game doesn't hold up that well today and the Midgar section was way too long. 6 is far more fun today than 7 is. The remake may help though.

While Ocarina of Time is indeed overrated, at least the gameplay held up. You can see that from twilight princess being a complete rip off of it and being very successful. The main place where it aged is the graphics. If they made an updated version all they would need to do is make new assets and textures. For a lot of older games that people remember fondly, that isn't the case. They in fact play like shit by today's standards.
