you know after playing all the persona games again recently, i've come to the conclusion that you shouldn't even be allowed to cheat, not because of morals but because it refuses to apply consequences to it when it obviously should.
in all three games with dating elements the girls apparently never tell each other they are dating you even if you are dating every girl in your party or every girl period. it makes absolutely zero sense if you think about it for even one second. and the only consequence is getting one or two mildly negative scenes which don't adjust with severity (every additional girl you cheat on is just added to that one scene in p5 and none of their links reverse).
in every case (but ESPECIALLY P4) it clashes with themes of friendship and trust super hard and makes every good thing you're doing seem really hollow. it treats the feelings of the girls as something you just babysit while fucking all of them behind each other's backs simultaneously.
like there was one point where i maxed a girl's link and became romantic with them, only to come downstairs and remember i called kawakami over to make coffee. and it takes me out of the story for a moment because i'm like, how the fuck could kawakami not hear all of that just now?
tl;dr the persona games don't treat cheating seriously enough for it to even be worth keeping as a feature because it majorly clashes with the story and character development
