I've been meaning to play Chrono Trigger for a while. How good is the emulation through something like Retroarch on the Vita?

I dont remember what I did but I've had the sound cut out on adrenaline a few times, I just exited and reopened and it was fine

I just played Super Metroid through that and I had 0 issues. The only SNES game I've tried playing that seemed to get a little fucky is Star Fox.

Retroarch is garbage, psp emulators like gpsp kai and snes9x tyl are much better

The switch is better and it’s homebrew scene is still new. The Vita can’t even play Donkey Kong Country without slowdowns.

If you are getting slowdown playing DKC you are doing something wrong

You can always try to reinstall adrenaline and see if that fixes it

Dude, due to the lack of media engine cpu that emulator works worse than it does on PSP. Snes9x 2005 core works better than that anyway, no need to use that.

Also VBANext core is pretty good depending on the game. I only played the Castlevania's on it and it run them without issue. Zero games though had stutters when I tested them.

Retroarch is fine unless you are a nitpicking faggot. I have been emulating with it and Haven't noticed a single problem

I've been using snes9xtylcm mod 180404 and its been working much better than retroarch

Impossible. Super Metroid on Snes9xtyl drops frames on Ceres Station right after the intro. Retroarch using the snes9x 2005 core it never drops frames. Also look;

You are already using the slower version of this emulator and the example I gave happens on my PSP Go. So it is impossible.

I have (almost) the entire NES catalog at my disposal, a large screen, a 4:3 ratio screen, and a cheap controller which clips onto the sides.
In preparation for the new CTR, I've been playing the old one on it.

My friend just picked up the one that looks like a 3DS and he loves it. Emulates PS1, PSP, and some N64 games no problem. He also uses Parsec on it so he can play his PC games too. I checked it out myself and it has a really nice screen.

It's a shit. Way too thick, controller feels awkward with the keyboard underneath, build quality sucks, and it runs windows.
