legend of dragoon / xenogears

tactics advanced

Chrono Trigger

based, i actually finished it last week
what a masterpiece

>laws
kys my man

Now play Chrono Cross, it’s kino but don’t expect a direct sequel, they just share some similar shit.

Look, we all know you had it and loved it as a kid, but it's garbage.

there's a patch for that

I like the one with the talking dog and the giga nigga

Bravely Default

So he was a cowboy turned ninja who didnt mercy kill his friend, pump and dump some village girl who nursed him, and abandoned his daughter.

And totally redeemed himself throwing Illumina/Lightbringer at Kefka to instantly kill him.

Based manly homo poster

IV

8

6

5, 6 are the only answer

Lightning Returns

>plays fifa a series with the same shit every year

5,7,10

6 end of. If it ain't kefka what's the point

For me it's 4.

9 is my favorite, followed by 7 and 10.

Attached: 1495129109021.jpg (1000x667, 367K)

he is based, yes

kefka is such a shit character
chaotic evil is boring

For the millionth time:
FF6 is best 2D
FF7 is best 3D

Mainline games after three merger are NOT FF games.

i had fun playing 12.

1-9 are all acceptable answers, as well as Tactics (PS1 or War of the Lions, not advanced shit).

12 was a lot of fun. It was nice getting to replay it when The Zodiac Age came out.

9=6=>7=14>8>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>SHIT>>>>>>>>>=12=13=15
1 2 3 4 5 11 didn't play

6 or V

Xenogears

>y-you play fifa
Step up your bantz, bro

Call him a pedofucker who plays gacha shit or plays the latest souls rehash

Actually this

Quick, is World of FF worth it if I just want a decently challenging and long JRPG? It's on sale on the eShop and I've always liked the aesthetic

Attached: ufknwut.jpg (580x435, 59K)

Tactics is the only correct answer

eww ivalice

IX

This

V for me
Job system is god tier, great characters, have a story that doesn't take itself too seriously
Too bad it's one of the most slept one in the series for some reason

>7=14
very bold but based opinion

Ff14 and 11 tie in well with 1-5

10

The War of the Roses medieval version of Tactics is a completely different Ivalice than 12, even if it is the exact same setting unlike Tactics advance

Don't kid yourself, 2 was trash

The West didn’t get it, and it didn’t get a remake like 3

GOD TIER

*POWER GAP*

DOGSHIT TIER
>XI
>XIV

I hope they remake 2 after 7 rather than 8, THATS the game that needs a complete remake. It has some interesting ideas as well, which would make actually doing a full modern FF story with it worth it

*ahem*

why play XIII-2 without XIII

14 and 11 will always be far superior to 15

lolno

VII

Attached: Vincent Valentine 3.jpg (736x1055, 140K)

I hate how X forces you to use summons or grind for some bosses. The summon system is absolutely retarded. There should be some kind of penalty for using summons, instead they're designed to be a huge overpowered benefit. It sucks fucking dicks.

based

5 > 9 > 12 > 6 > 7
Personal favorite: 11

You do not need to grind at all. Summons also aren't really needed but why not use them?

8 is my favorite. I'm one of those people.

Swap VI and VII

Definitely Final Fantasy IX.

Attached: Final-Fantasy-IX-625x352.jpg (625x352, 74K)

Classic = 4
3D = 9
Nu = 10

And 7 only ever if you grew up with it.

Apparently I do if I want to beat Yunalesca's 3 fucking phases. I just hate the system of using them. I like gameplay that's streamlined, forces you to make the correct move on every turn or suffer heavy consequences or even die and apply some strategy, not gameplay that gives you 10 overpowered summons that can be summoned at will with no penalty. DQXI on stronger monsters did a much better job of this. Every turn against some bosses it felt like I had to make the exact correct move or I'd be wiped. In this game I can just summon my OP dragon on any turn and if that dies move onto the next.

What I really liked about FFX is that each character specialized against one specific enemy type, so you were motivated to switch characters and not just stick with the same 3 OP characters for the whole game.

>Wakka wrecks flying enemies
>Lulu wrecks elementals
>Rikku wrecks machines
>Yuna wrecks giant monsters and bosses

etc etc etc

Kimahri was shit though. I hate blue mage characters they are always half-assed and weak

Except you can just use Lulu to kill Wakka's flying enemies and use Tidus or Auron to oneshot the mechanical enemies. Lulu, Tidus, Auron and Yuna have definitely been much more useful than the others for the main story at least.

Isn't Yunalesca practically an endgame boss?

4 is so overrated. Spastic as fuck story where everything is made up as you go along, every fucking character "dies" heroically, only to miraculously come back later safe and sound. I admit it was a revolutionary game in terms of how it handled its story compared to other RPGs, but it doesn't actually do much right.

>Except you can just use Lulu to kill Wakka's flying enemies
if you want to waste MP

The best Final Fantasy game is still only a decent game. Most of them are bad.

Attached: 1436624327293.jpg (600x800, 401K)

It's not like it matters when there's a save spot down every corridor plus she has a ton of mana so I don't remember ever running out.

Most flyers have high magic defense and you have to waste mana on high level spells to one shot, even then it won't be a overkill

Dumb retard

>the best Final Fantasy game is a rhythm spin off

Attached: Theatrhythm_Curtain_Call_Logo.jpg (464x273, 123K)

Theatrhythm is great because you can easily pinpoint the moment where the FF series completely lost its sense of identity and aesthetic: X

youtube.com/watch?v=isyc-LUTaoM
>that part at 2:50 where the guy stares into the horizon before showing a montage of the games starting from FF1
Absolute kino

It's mostly great because it distills Final Fantasy to the only good things it has. Music, skills and worldbuilding. And adds a fun gameplay system on top. Main FF games put story and graphics in front of everything. And so stuff like music, gameplay and classes/skills get ignored.

I'm thinking it's FFXVI that's the best.

LRXIII, but since only II-IX are Final Fantasies, VI.

VI is superior

Consider how much the programmers did with the World of Ruin given the constraints they had.

Now consider what could happen if it got a 7R-tier remake (not 3D because fuck that - I mean in terms of expanding the story).

14
and im not even trolling

Is LR any good? I'm one of those wierdos who thinks XIII was a misunderstood masterpiece

IX and II (PSP) for me.

Final Fantasy X

I fucking love Final Fantasy X but I still haven’t beaten Sin yet, he’s too hard :(

I hated XIII, but loved LRXIII and from my experience it's exactly the XIII-1 lovers that are the second least likely to enjoy LRXIII.

If you can get over the time limit being a thing and you being free (and required) to choose where you personally want to go at any minute, while discovering things as you go and being ready to accept the story with a "Sure, why not?" attitude (which is helped by the game being rather unserious about itself at times), you'll probably like it. Beyond that the atmosphere, scenario, customization and combat are really good. If you've followed the lore of the games, there's a satisfying and needed fight in there as well to cap it all of.

Play 13-2 pleb

Yunalesca is totally doable without grinding, but it requires you to level appropriately. My most recent playthrough had Kimahri as a White Mage who knew Holy, Curaga, etc. so him+Yuna was OP.

Havent't played 2 and 3, and played 1 and 4 way after their time, so it's hard to be objective. I'd say 6, 7 and 10 are best. 4, 8 and 9 are not far behind. 12 is ok, but the decline is already visible there. 13 is a fucking joke, so is 10-2. 15 started out good and had it's moments on the way, but it's still not a good game overall. 1 is pretty decent given that it's from 1987. My memories of 5 are faint, so I leave that one out.

Without Sakaguchi, it's just not Final Fantasy any longer.

is this a joke like wtf

Inclined to switching IV and VI but still surprisingly based.

Is 7 worth 12 bucks if you've never played it?

Gently

Yes.

Yes, but make sure to play with the fixed translation on pc

...

Without a doubt.
