Microsoft's E3 was actually good for once this year, the forza lego reveal was probably the funniest shit in E3 history and Reeves probably has the only non-vidya celebrity appearance that was actually well received.

All Sony did for the last two E3's was "US GAMERS" about M$ and show the same 3 games.

Even the PS2 wasn't a good console. It had good games, but its hardware was the worst of the generation. Every good game on PS2 would've been better on xbox or gamecube.

The quality of a console is mostly determined by the games it has though. Whether the games would perform better on another console is irrelevant. Otherwise, the Wii or Switch shouldn't be considered good consoles.

At least they both allow gameplay styles unique to those systems. The switch has a unique form factor and the wii obviously has motion controls, optional nunchucks, all that shit. I think there's an argument to be made about first vs third party though, and most of the PS2's good games were third party (therefore not directly Sony's accomplishment). The same can't be said of the Wii.

Not as brave as The Last of Us 2, coming exclusively to Playstation.

You raise some good points. However, should the motion controls of the Wii or Switch be considered positives? Even though motion controls were optional for a lot of the games released for those systems, I feel as though motion controls were encouraged and gave at least some slight advantages. A game like Splatoon could be played with both a normal control scheme or motion but a motion control player would always beat out the player who didn't use motion.
I like your point about the third party vs. first party development though.

E3 is literally just one giant public investor meeting. It's not as bad as the Game Awards, but it's just one giant commercial we willingly tune into for the lols, and hopefully like 1 interesting announcement.
