The story has so much it could say but it doesn't because it was rushed.
If you've got no other recent good JRPGs to play you could do worse, but if you haven't there are way better JRPGs to be played.

- Tales of the Abyss, Berseria, Graces, Vesperia, and Xillia
Those are a couple of the JRPG franchises that have surpassed Final Fantasy.
