Guys I am on the edge of buying a Switch

Guys I am on the edge of buying a Switch.

Am I doing a mistake? I already got a PS4.

People who love their Switch, what are your favorite games?

Also, how are these Joy Cons?

wait for an actual price drop or a new model. If you already have another console, switch is not worth the price it's sold at right now

>Switch has nice exclusives.
>Splatoon and Picross
>Joycons are shit and stick drift appears after a year or two.

Did they already anounce something?

Don't listen to this idiot, the portability is amazing and the library is great right now. It's a road trip savior

Wait for the new models to be announced.

This really isn't the place to be asking about this, you'll get nothing but console war shitposting.
I recommend you wait for a sale or buy it used from someone for cheap, like you should do with any console. As for games there's a ton of good exclusives and I'd recommend splatoon, zelda, mario and xenoblade.
I personally don't use the joycons much since i got a pro controller but they're alright.

>and stick drift appears after a year or two.
They fixed that with later versions.

I'm interested but I'm waiting for the budget model. SwSh really killed my hype so basically it might become an Animal Crossing machine if that doesn't suck as well

Just use Cemu

Were you really only interested in pokemon and ac?

I like the Switch alot, but I barely used the Joycons because I played mainly on my television with the ($70) controller and my left one developed drift and had to be replaced ($35).

The times I did take it on the road I used a padded case ($20) to hopefully prevent needed to replace something.

Its not b8 when tubers say $300 is the entry fee.

I bought a switch 3 days ago and I do not regret it. The only game I've played so far is FF7

that plus Smash (but singleplayer only) and maybe Odyssey

Get one if you plan on hacking it

I think is the best console if you are not a consolefag. If PC is your main plataform the Switch is the best console you can get because most of its game are exclusives. Sure, the ps4 has some exclusives, but they aren't an exclusive experience. Bloodborne is pretty good, but not good enough to justify buying a dedicated console for it when you can play Dark Souls in PC with better graphics, mods and cheaper

How safe is sxos?

What's the downside of hacking
Just online not working?

Wow that wallpaper looks cringe as fuck.

Mario Odyssey is far and away the best and only worthwhile game. Joycons are absolute fucking garbage.

True. Fuck stick drift.

Hack it.

The joycons are fucking pure garbage btw, you're kinda forced to buy a pro controller because these shitty Chinese tier plastic cunts are going to drift after 2 months of use. I'm 27yo and it's the worst controller I ever used. Fuck them.

What are you all playing at the moment?

Attached: switch comfy.jpg (950x534, 70K)

Switch is okay
There’s a few nice nintendo games like splatoon and mario odyssey, but again, only few of them are nice. Most of them are indie rpgs or port.
Among all the games, Zelda is the best one so far, even comparing to other 3A games. Not sure if you should get the switch just for a few nice games tho.

The joy sticks are fine but a bit small. Go grab a pro controller unless you have tiny hands like trump.

It's fine, I've got 2 SD cards. One for my emunand and one for the regular games and stuff. Only annoying part is having to plug my switch into my phone every time I want to reboot to the other nand

>Hack the Switch
>You need to send a payload through another machine every-time you want to access your unofficial content
>The battery barely lasts for a few hours
>Every-time it turns off you need to go through the process again
Have they solved this yet? I just want to boot into CFW like on my PS3 and PSP

>portability is amazing
If only people with this dumb argument could just fuck off
> It's a road trip savior
You talk like everyone is constantly on a fucking roadtrip
The switch is technically dated, it's way too expensive for what it offers and no amount of portability or other bullshiit meme is gonna make it worth its price

Yeah it's called having a dongle retard. Or is that too much work for you?

Depends on what you consider safe.
You can keep your regular nand to play your bought games online and emunand to play your pirated stuff. There are also ways to play online through wireless local play but I`ve never used it:
team-xecuter.com/community/threads/internet-wireless-local-play-works-just-fine.129215/

If you just go online with your hacked Switch, of course you will be banned.

Only that but as I said, there are ways around that as well

>Use exfat sd card because shit I want to install games on my big SD card that are more than 4gb
>It leads to crash and corruption sometimes on cfw

fuck fat32, why are we not focusing on rucking exfat still?

Attached: 1523702264426.jpg (640x360, 57K)

All of the typical Nintendo games. If you even have any interest in those games, I find it impossible that you don't have a Switch already.

In the end, this is just another shill thread.

Ah I see, thanks anons!

Not op but I'm also interested in one.

I'm waiting for a cheaper new model to release and I don't really mind about the downsides (No dock and no removable joycons). I was thinking about hacking it but then I'll be unable to play online games such as smash and splatoon or there's a way to do that without Nintendo sending their ninjas to rape me? Also, is it possible to stream your pc/steam to it if it's hacked? I would like to play DS3 while taking a shit.

Attached: 1559148837890.jpg (800x450, 100K)

If you don't play online you can hack it and get free games.

My favorite games are BotW, Smash, and Octopath. I love the joycons, I find them very comfortable to use. I do have kind of small hands though.

They haven't announced something, it was just a bunch of rumors. Don't expect another model for 2 years.
It's worth it user, it's library is different enough to what the PS4 offers

Literally the only reason to buy a Switch is Smash. If you don't like Smash, don't buy a Switch. It's a shitty console with pretty much no games. I own mine since release and only own 5 games, last time I bought a game was half a year ago (Smash).

>smashfag doesn't even play other games
Wow there's a shocker.

Attached: 1431533841355.jpg (552x600, 171K)

The only cons are the joycons. I'm here all week!

>Joycons
Be prepared to buy new ones, because with their shitty design, 80% chance that at least one will start drifting. And forget about "quick fix" videos on youtube, that doesn't work.
And what's even more laughable, they still didn't fix this, even on newer versions of joycon.

Yeah because there are no good games that came out after Smash you moron. BotW sequel will probably be the next buy since everything else looks like shit.

>yfw smashfag brain is hardwired to solely enjoy children's party game.

Attached: 1560425499168.jpg (640x603, 44K)

YEAHHHHH Banjoid and Kanzooe, bro!

>80% chance

>Assuming I own nothing but the Switch
I've played plenty of games this year, they just weren't on the Switch. Now fuck off idiot.

This, current switch is an overprice garbage
dont fall for nintendies meme

It's a great console, but only if you're interested in Nintendo and indie games. All multiplats are better played somewhere else.

You can avoid being banned by backing up your nand and restoring it every time you want to play online. It's tedious, and not completely reliable, but it's the only way afaik. Truth is, no one is sure what can get you banned, but the nand restore method seems to work (I haven't been banned yet).

I haven't had to change mine since I bought the console in 2017.

>B-but I've played lots of unspecified games, on unspecified platforms.
lmao yeah okay. Go take a second to google recent releases and pretend you know anything other than Smash.

Attached: 1422926032445.jpg (576x418, 56K)

Get a Pro controller.
Joy cons are wack.

Really depends on what kind of games you're looking for, it has a ton of JRPG on it, indie games, some party games (and *ahem*, shovelwares*) and the console is really lacking of adventure games like Mario Odyssey or Breath of The Wild as for now. Also consider getting Bayonetta and Astral Chain if you're getting one as well.

You alright there, user?

Attached: IMG_20190610_171221.jpg (399x282, 11K)

Get it next year.
>how are the joycons
One of the worst controllers ever, but it works.

Played Sekiro, NieR Automata, Persona 5, Mother 3 and currently playing DQ XI. Keep seething, sorry that the Switch got no games.

Yeah, probably because you a part of 20% group, dumbass.

These. I'm interested too, and I was going to buy one for SwSh ALONE, but fuck the news I've read about not having all your Pokemon in. Anyways, while I'm excited for a few games that will be releasing for it, I cannot justify it at $300 for the console alone. I'll wait for a bundle deal or something. Console + eShop credit, or a game, etc.

I think Mario Odyssey is a 10/10 so that alone justified it for me. If you're not a Mario or Zelda fan it's probably not worth it.

It's a zelda machine right now.
Hopefully deals ex machina and astral chain change that.

Maybe, or maybe I'm just good at taking care of things. The flimsiness of the joycons is unexcusable though. The wiimote and even the Wii U gamepad, as bad as they were, felt much, much better built.

I love my switch. Favorite games are The Nintendo exclusives. Currently playing XB2 and loving it.

The joy cons are pretty shitty. Way too small to use on their own. Get a pro controller if you plan on playing docked.

Hold off until next year. Trust me. The wait is going to be worth it.

Why?

>>HAVE to

Every time.

>Pikachu and Eevee both in different tier
?

>Pokken

>Spend $400 on a console
>HAVE to buy a TV because the thing doesn't have a display
>HAVE to buy a extra controller because the rubber on the joysticks wear off

Why?

>road trip savior
I guess you're young enough when those things can still happen. The last big road trip I remember going on with my family was almost a decade ago.

I think the Switch is worth it if the game library looks interesting to you. When it comes to secondary consoles I always do the 5 full price games or enough games to match the price of the console so in this case I would want to have $300 in games I'd want to get.

My favorite games aren't all exclusives but I'll post them. BOTW, Steins;gate Elite, Valkyria Chronicles Remastered, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Splatoon 2.

I don't like the Joy Cons very much but two purchases that cost me about $40 fixed my issues for the most part. Theres a 8bitdo adapter so you can use a Dualshock 4 and even works with gyro for Splatoon and Zelda. The other is the Skull and Co grip. It's pretty small so it can still fit in the dock plus it comes with 3 different grip sizes and greatly improves the triggers. That and some analog covers help immensely.

I would like to continue botw, but i only borrowed it from my sister. She wanted it back for another playthrough and now i have to wait for it because i dont see the point in it now that im am almost through the main story

Not a fan faggot here but you can easily find the rubbers on Amazon to replace yours, they're like $7 for a pair or some shit.

>BOTW not top tier
>Odyssey above BOTW
>Xenoblade 2 not in shit tier
>PLGE/PLGP not shit tier

>Zelda
>"RPG" without option to increase stats, skills, atributes...
>a good game

Seems like that new mariko model is just a smaller Switch though with likely the same performance capabilities.

I'm doing the same soon OP, but the way I'm justifying it is that I'll get a hackable one and pirate most games (im buying rf5 and smt5), all while having a decent console to emulate pre-ps1 games.

Use WD 40
>inb4 bait
It's not.

new models likely won't be hackable for a long time though

Eh, like with any other console, it just depends if it has the games you want.

>Are you into smash, zelda, and other nintendo IPs then it's a no brainer

>personally I find the joycon feel like shit, the oro controller saved my hands

>the thing is still kinda pricy and there's likely a new model coming soon, despite nintendo saying there isnt, they've been known to lie about the 3ds

I own a pc, ps4, and a switch but my switch collects the most dust because it has no games for me atm, I'm waiting for FE3HM SMTV, and naybe pokemon.

I was planning to get one of those RCM dongles for like 12 bucks or something but I know you could also do it with your phone just as easily.
Not sure what to do.

>If you just go online with your hacked Switch, of course you will be banned.
Well, I've read many posts about people going online with cfw (sx os) for 6+ months without getting banned so who knows.

right now the safest cfw because it has proper emunand support, although Atmosphere is getting that sometime soon as well
another benefit is being able to load .xci game files directly and I doubt other cfw will get this anytime soon, however you can always just convert the .xci files on your pc before putting them on the sd card for them to work on other cfw

I bought my switch a couple months ago (mainly for smash, Pokémon, and animal crossing). Pokémon looks to be a gigantic dissapointment, smash is great but all my friends have it so I don't need my own personal copy. Animal crossing is my lone saving grace at this point.

it's great if your actually traveling and have time to play it on the go but any game that's on both systems plays better on ps4. Joycon are neat but kinda feel cheap/plastic-y. the control stick drifting is a common issue with them and ot a lot of stores know how to repair them yet.

If your into retro games and enjoying downloading new side scrolling/indie 'retro' games then you'll probably like it.

Boomer here, it's pretty fucking rad actually. I'm getting heavy a Dreamcast vibe from it. With all the ports, retro remakes and the homebrew scene, it's already a great console. And you get all the Nintendo games on top of it, not a bad deal. As far as third parties go, most devs have been lazy with their efforts - "we just can't seem to optimize our software on this platform, derp". Well, CDP just raised the fucking bar with Witcher 3, so the coming years should be interesting. IMHO, the Switch has great potential and right now its on the right track to reach it. Joycons are ok, but some people report issues after prolonged use, mine are fine. You'll need a gripcase most likely though, you'll see what I mean. Oh and fuck Nintendo for the lack of a proper browser and no Netflix support. But other than that, breddy gud.

>Implying you drive at all

New models are already not hackable
They haven’t been hackable in over a year

Theres a rumored new model in the works but we havent seen it yet. Its a good console if you like to sit in bed to play a lot, or you travel or have long breaks at work or school/bus/train etc.

One thing to be aware of is that some of the multi platform ports will play worse on switch, fps drops, downgraded graphics and what not. But some run perfectly fine. Thats the tradeoff for portability. Just think of it as a really good smartphone with actual good controls.

I dont play mine much lately because my joycons got dropped a few times and have deadzone issues. Dont drop the joycons they are kind of fragile. Ive been holding off for a second model before hacking mine since theres a lot of good stuff coming out post E3 that will definitely benefit from online.

Cant really think of much else to say about it. Mario maker 2 is probably going to be a lot of fun in bed.

Attached: Arsène.(Persona.5).full.2112259.jpg (833x1168, 812K)

>The joycon feel like shit.
For looking absolutely retarded this is honestly a 10/10 set up and straight up better for games like smash and Mariokart

Attached: 1844368C-B287-44EB-B718-EF849E829341.jpg (2692x2279, 1.22M)

>No browser no Netflix
We have this exciting new product called a fucking phone. Use that.

It's nice to play handheld in bed, but I've gotta be honest with you - the Joy Cons are shit. The sticks will drift after some usage, and I'm talking after casual gaming sessions. I legitimately avoid games that require stick because of this issue.

Second this. WD40 electrical contact cleaner will fix the drift instantly.

>Playing DQXI now when S is coming out soon and is shaping up to be the definitive version of the game
For what purpose?

Switch has nothing that interests me right now except for Xenoblades and Odyssey I guess

However the future lineup is very promising: no more heroes, smt, rf4s/5, ac make it a must have for me. Used to be one of those guys just hoping the emulator would catch up by the time these games are out but now I really doubt that'll happen.

Buy one, but just remember Nintendo will probably release a new version next year or some shit. I'd buy one just now though as the games out ATM are worth it alone.

it is the definitive edition but sadly the graphics are worse, which is a pretty big deal since dqxi is so damn pretty

>controller that comes with the console is so trash that the workaround is to buy a cheap plastic thing from eBay that turns your joycon into a controller with the d pad in the fucking middle

>all these people complaining about stick drift
wew, didn't know this was an issue
some guy in here said that's been fixed with the newer joycons, is that true?

only buy it if you intend to hack it.

that theme looks cool, how do I get it bro

if ur six years of age, go for it

They have hinted at making 2 separate models. One will be a cheaper model to pull in more people and another model that is supposedly more powerful and will be higher in price. They have shifted production out of China to some SE asian country for production which is going on right now. Not sure when they will hit the stores. I want a switch, but I don't know if I should wait for the next models.

Nintendo haven't "hinted" at a goddamn thing. It's retarded rumormongers who were claiming a revision was in the works as early as July 2017, not even half a year after the original launch. And they'll keep "leaking" a revision every month or so until they just luck out on the announcement.

I mean the theme ui, I can imagine using my own picture

>Am I doing a mistake? I already got a PS4.
No. PS4 is on the way out anyway. Some good exclusives coming this year and it's a great machine if you play indie games.

>People who love their Switch, what are your favorite games?
>Zelda: Breath of the Wild
>Splatoon 2 (does require you to pay for online though)
>Sonic Mania
Has Been Heroes
>Xenoblade Chronicles 2
>Octopath Traveler
>Smash Bros Ultimate

A few of these are available on other platforms though the portability is nice. Sonic Mania and Has Been Heroes are great for long trips. Honorable mention to ARMS but you could skip that one.

>Also, how are these Joy Cons?
Fine. Older ones have a drifting problem but I think this has been corrected in newer ones. Haven't had a problem with my yellow ones.

Zelda has never been an rpg brainlet

If you have "shit" taste and aren't a huge Nintendo fan then save those 400 usd for a GPU/Phone etc.

>Any of the joycons will eventually slide off without pressing the secure key because everything is plastic. Also they are so bad that you are forced to spend 70 usd on the pro controller.
>32 GB space forces you to spend a lot of money on SD cards.
>Ports are expensive, runs ulgy/bad and some of them are directly an scam because the physical version comes with a download code.

Plus if you are going to be so retarded and gonna play the switch docked 100% of the times then you bought the wrong item. The Switch is only GOOD for NINTENDO/Old games like Megaman etc on PORTABLE the rest is just trash and don't even think about taking your Switch in public or job unless you want to get fired.

Being forced to buy a normal controller because joycons feel like cheap uncomfy shit, are a pain for bigger hands, and will inevitably start drifting no matter how well you take care of it.

Fortunately I got the pro con on sale, night and day, never looked back.

Attached: download.jpg (247x247, 7K)

>wait for an actual price drop or a new model
>New model
Lololol, they aren't making a new model for like 3 years or even more

Anyone play Pinball FX3?

I want some people to compete with in leaderboards.

I like it, the honeymoon period has worn off and I still use it so I think it's worth buying imo. I don't like the built quality too much, starting with the wii, you could tell nintendo started to lose that quality they were known for.

My main problems are my left joycon feels a bit wobbly (fixed with scotch tape), one of my other joycons started to drift, my pro controller down input on the d-pad doesn't always register as down, sometimes it inputs it as down-right. The L button on my pro controller also needs more pressure to keep the input going.

Otherwise a good console, I mainly use it at work.

Weird seeing all these people who hate the Joycons. I don't mind them. Though I only have 3 games for it and only use the Joycon grip

Wall Street Journal reported on this a year ago and the timeline they laid out is accurate so far. But you are correct about Nintendo making no announcements. Suppliers are talking.

The joy cons are nice looking but they have a lot of problems given how expensive they are. Also, playing Rocket League, or Smash or anything that requires quick button presses and analog movement is kind of hard, my movement isn't accurate.

If you haven't play any online/shooter game in your life and you think Splatoon 2 will be good then go a head.

That is probably the most casual/baby tier shooter ever made. if you don't mind dealing with ;

>Playing with 1-2 less people every single match because everyone plays with Wifi
>Literally a WIFI game
>p2p
>10-20hz servers (kill someone then get killed anyways )
>Die 1 time in Turf war and lose the game (because the entire match doesn't matter until 20 seconds left)
>RNG weapons
>No dedicated servers (Enjoy playing with laggy Russians/Japanese/BR's )

Then go ahead the campaigning mode and DLC are good.

Yeah. Nintendo's online is ass, I mainly play Splatoon 2 as a quick pick up and play game, you simply cant take the game seriously because there is so much shit that the player cant control, you get cucked by the game itself.

After 2 months of playing MHGU, my right Joycon started having issues. If I mash my buttons a lil too much, the console gives me a "The console cannot detect one of your joycon" and interrupts my gameplay. It's truly fucking annoying.

I am a switch/ps4 owner and I literally haven't played the ps4 for over maybe an hour total since getting my switch 3 months ago.
Alot of what im playing is not exclusive stuff, but games like darkwood, va-11 ha11a, and into the breach are just alot better handheld then being attached to a tv or monitor

theres alot coming out this year
>mm2
>astral chain
>pokemons
>deamonxmachina
and I wouldn't recommend waiting another year and a half for a potential new model. I regret not buying one earlier, and because I did I missed most of the online scene for splatoon and a couple other games not too mention actual fresh discussion about the games.

the one thing I would make mention of though: just to be safe buy the red/blue joycon model instead of the grey, the early grey had more issues and even though its been resolved if you got an older model through the store you could potentially have to buy new joycons within 18 months or so

pic unrelated

Attached: scp2.png (368x528, 374K)

Pretty much this, I got the switch last year and instantly had buyers remorse, it's been collecting dust for a literal year while waiting for games.

I got it for Xenoblade2, Fire emblem, pokemon, smt5, and whatever potential games it'd later get. But xenoblade bored me, fire emblem got delayed twice, pokemon is disappointing me even with my low standards, smt5 is basically vaporware, and nothing else announced has interested me since.

I dont care for smash or downgraded ports so I'm considering selling it while it's still worth something.

Switch is crap. I have 30 games and at least 25 of them I could have bought on Steam for a lower price. And the Steam versions are better.
I only recommend to anyone who wants to play exclusive Nintendo games. I bought it for Tetris99, Mario Maker 2 and Zelda BOTW. In this sense, I do not regret it.

The tl;dr of owning a switch:

>Pick up great ports of Wii U exclusives if you didn't get around to them before
>Portability is neat but nonessential. Good for short plane or train journeys
>Indies are abundant and reasonable priced (plus regular sales)

Much like the original wii, it's a fantastic side console. You'll have a ton of fun and great games, but don't expect anything AAA beyond nintendo sequels

>32 GB space forces you to spend a lot of money on SD cards.

in what world is an SD card alot of money? this isn't snoy proprietary nonsense, you can pick up a 128 gig micro sd for under 20 bucks at walmart, or if you are willing to shop online amazon has 256 gig sds for anywhere between 10-50 bucks

>and don't even think about taking your Switch in public or job unless you want to get fired.
this is some extremely autistic shitposting

Attached: what.jpg (209x157, 6K)

Isn't that shit $70? more than a fucking game!

Dude I'm totally on your side about the sticks being shit but please don't assume everyone is as retarded as you with DIY repairs. Replacing a stick literally takes 5 minutes and all the videos on YouTube tell you that it is quick and easy because it's objectively piss easy

Joycons are garbage. Fragile, and if they work perfectly are horribly uncomfortable.
Buy it if the games justify the purchase, else wait for a revision.
Dassit.

Don't fall for these idiots telling you to buy right now. Just wait.

Dude, play more games.

its the same price as a ds4 and slightly less then xbone controller.

Attached: ds4.png (831x418, 271K)

Imagine being over thirteen and owning a switch lmao enjoy your kiddie games and your underpowered gimmick Fischer price tablet with the worst version of multiplats.

>and will inevitably start drifting no matter how well you take care of it.
They fixed that. You could throw it at a wall and it'll be fine.

Now this is a scam. DS4s are frail as fuck.

>botw mid tier

Attached: botw.jpg (700x913, 111K)

Just stick with the PS4. The better combo would have been PC and Switch. The earlier joycons were bad with the left having the drift issue. And the joycons are expensive as hell

Who needs those hunks of plastic? It comes with those slide on top buttons which is perfectly fine for casual shit like mario kart or mario party. I'd argue this is shit for smash due to lack of buttons though.

Imagine being over thirteen and owning a ps4 lmao enjoy your movie "games" and homosexuality enabling degenerate paperweight with the only good game being from 2015.

Attached: the average ps4 user.jpg (995x1024, 87K)

Hard to say for sure. It was definetly an issue with some people sticks eariler on, but at worst you can but a new set at walmart and return the old ones. NBD.

Yeah, I am literally on my 4th ds4 and maybe have 1000 hours TOTAL playtime on my ps4
>came with nice grey classic one, had some kind of internal issue and shit out with 3 months (in fairness I bought the system used)
>brand new blue one had stick drift by the end of that year
>brand new red one had the micro usb port completely take a shit and die (at least it lasted almost a full year)
>current one is one of the brand new blue/green

at least my ps4 is basically just a netflix machine due to no games so maybe it will last. One of the main reasons ill be skipping the ps5 though

The only mistake was buying a Shitstation. The Switch already has a bunch of worthwhile games. Just make sure you get a pro controller if you plan to play it docked, and realize that you'll pay out the ass for overpriced games unless you hack it

>And the joycons are expensive as hell
He could always just buy new ones and return the old ones saying there's a fault essentially getting a new pair of them. That's what I did.

I bought it as a superpowerful 4DS, also if you do not apply retard strenght the cons are more than fine, I do regret buying but I would have wasted money on something even worse, so it's ok, it's waiting for Pokemon and AC in the drawer.

They're pretty much $49.99 everywhere now. Price pressure from PowerA has pretty much driven it down to where it needs to be, plus there are some attractive 3rd party controllers on the cheap.

>some guy in here said that's been fixed with the newer joycons, is that true?
yes
And the grey ones have it worse then red/blue for some reason and the yellow/splatoon/pokemon ones have no issues really.

So avoid grey incase they are old stock

>$300 for the system itself
>$20 for a microSD (at least 64GB REQUIRED)
>$10 for a screen protector (REQUIRED)
>$70 for a Pro controller (REQUIRED)
>$50 minimum for a game
Just food for thought.

>so maybe it will last
It won't. I bought mine a few months ago and the stick already drifts very slightly.

Tell me OP what games do you want on the switch, only then can I tell you if you're making a mistake or not.

As long as you don't buy them at launch, you're safe. Most multiplats that get the switch treatment drop in a month or two.

was planning to get the splatoon ones since they look so good

Everywhere in my area they've been $50 for weeks. I just pulled the trigger on one and love it.

no yuzus progress is coming along quickly just use your pc

>$70 for a pro controller

Well... Not really I use an 8bitdo because I prefer the Ps4 controller. OP has a ps4 so he can skip on the pro controller and just buy the 8bitdo for $15.

The switch is my plane ride savior

How do you manage to go through so many gamepads so fast? I still have the same DS4 as day 1 and it's still in mint condition even with playing a lot.
You people should learn to take care of your stuff instead of blaming the manufacturer for your lack of care

>in what world is an SD card alot of money? this isn't snoy proprietary nonsense, you can pick up a 128 gig micro sd for under 20 bucks at walmart, or if you are willing to shop online amazon has 256 gig sds for anywhere between 10-50 bucks

Based nintenfag sucking Nintendo dick so hard that defends the fact that you as a client should cover Nintendo fault designs.

>and don't even think about taking your Switch in public or job unless you want to get fired.

When you get a job or any real social interaction then tell us how amazing was to get called virging-loser for carrying a colorful tablet to your workplace/college.

>Pro Controller (REQUIRED)
I don't have one
>screen protector (REQUIRED)
I don't have one either

In fairness even if your shitposting was true its still a better value then ps4 just for actually having games instead of 60 dollar movies. Can't tell you about comparisons with xbone as I still don't have one

so glad toddlers lost youtube.com/watch?v=o49JF6uxzDU ill have to use my ds4 controller if i play a game with motion though

If you are on a budget, don't get it. If money isn't whats holding you back, then do. I'm idort and the Switch was worth the almost 500 I sunk into it for the console, pro controller and a 400gb mirco SD. The Joycons are ass until you have the hands of a toddler. Xenoblade 2 is probably my favorite exclusive though Mario/Rabbids was fun as shit. I'll admit a lot of its library are ports and indies though.

>$400 for ps4
>$~500 for decent TV
>~$10-$70 for games
??

>using the "but u need a TV tooo!!!!" analogy when he should know that, on all places like Yea Forums, people already HAVE a console/PC meaning they already have a TV or monitor

They call them Nintenkids for a reason, I see.

The joycons are fucking abysmal. Feel like cheap, fragile shit and you WILL start experiencing stick drift within a couple of months of normal use. You're basically required to buy a pro controller.

if you're not a big nintendo fan it's not for u, bought that shit on a black friday deal and besides botw i havent played shit on it and it's been sitting on my desk for the past several months, wait for it to get more games or a price drop

None of it is related to wear and tear, 2 out of 3 were literally the innards of the controller falling apart.
>lack of care
I take very good care of all my shit. My playstation 3 and xbox360 controllers are both still working and the ones that came with they system, despite probably logging a couple thousand hours in just fallout oblivion. Hell, my snes controllers still work from like 1997.
Sony made an incredibly shit product with the ds4.

>snoy shitposting about memory cards
lmao

>TV
>monitor
>same thing
xbros and snoyfags will use any argument

honestly few games like odyssey and pokemon let's go actually benefit from these updates while most others end up with regression
i doubt something like xenoblade will be playable for a long time

>ps4
>games

Wow, that's incredibly unlucky

weeb trash

Monitors are just small TVs without 50 layers of post processing and "motion correction", with minimal latency, and a full RGB pixel layout.

Monitors are basically just tiny high end TVs.
[rant over]

Are new switches even hackable yet? Everyone here shouts "HACK IT" but it's not even possible if he buys a new one...

>he doesn't know what Orbital is
Oh no no

What's stopping him from getting a used one?

I like playing games in bed.

Nah and likely won't be for a while either.
Only thing you can do is get a used hackable one or look through retail stores inventories for Switch consoles made before july 2018.

thats ok im not poor

Better to wait for the new versions

>When you get a job or any real social interaction then tell us how amazing was to get called virging-loser for carrying a colorful tablet to your workplace/college.
You are either one of those people who are too much of a bitch to do anything because they are afraid of what people think about them, your workplace is shitty, or you have never worked or interacted with people.

I take my Switch to my work and play it during my breaks, we are a relatively small company so the CEO and administrators interact with everyone and they are always interested about my Switch and constantly ask me questions about it. My coworkers also talk about video games and when it comes to the Switch they talk about how they want to get one or how they've put CFW on their Switch.

Some nice games if you get one.

I do PC + Switch, getting the few AAA titles that don’t suck shit on my PC and everything else on my Switch.

Start with the big 2017 adventure titles (BotW, SMO, And XC2) And then go from there. Mario + Rabbids is better than it has any right to be, Bayonetta 2 and Dong Freeze are great if you skipped Wii U, and of course Smash is a must.

Plenty of indies too that get marked down semi-regularly, Necrodancer is like $4 right now to promote Cadence of Hyrule.

i forgot you dont have a pc because you are poor

>$300 for the system itself
ok
>$20 for a microSD (at least 64GB REQUIRED)
Fair
>$10 for a screen protector (REQUIRED)
Not if you don't handle your shit like a child, it's not.
>$70 for a Pro controller (REQUIRED)
There are alot of Nintendo brand controllers for $50 and under
>$50 minimum for a game
>Minimum
Most non-first party games are $40 and under
I bought Odyssey for $48 when Amazon had discounts.

3 games isn't exactly progress. By the time this game is piratable, I would have already played it and alot of other WiiU/Switch games on my backlog.

Not that guy, but I own a PC and Switch.

>Weeb trash
seething.

I hate how all the Wii U games are getting ported to it and in some cases got a deluxe edition. I wish I could play these on the go but I cannot justify buying them again, especially with Nintendo's prices.
>Bayonetta 1&2
>Mario Kart 8
>Hyrule Warriors
>NSMBU (granted I got this one as a free download with my Wii U but it would be nice if I could at least get a discount or something for Deluxe)
I even bought BOTW on Wii U just so I wouldn't have to buy a Switch immediately.

post speccy

If you already have a PS4 buy it only if you like the exclusives:

>Xenoblade 2
>Smash Ultimate
>Super Mario Odyssey
>Splatoon 2
>also Zelda, Mario Kart and Donkey Kong if you don't have the WiiU versions already

Joycons are more comfortable than they look, especially the D-pad. Using the shoulder buttons in handheld mode is a pain in the ass though.

got one early this year for xenoblade 2 and definitely feel like i got my money's worth on that alone
it's got a few other good games i play from time to time. i haven't played much the past couple months since i've been on a runescape kick but i'm planning to get the new rune factory as soon as it comes out
