Judgment

Is anyone excited for this game? Was the Japanese version any good, for those that played it?

Haven't played it, but the combat already looks like a huge improvement over Yakuza 6 from the gameplay videos I've seen.

It's definitely a step up over both 6 and K2. Surprised we don't have the chapter 1 demo at this point to be honest.

Attached: Taste the concrete.webm (710x400, 2.9M)

It still isn't out ? I was in taiwan in december and there were ads for this everywhere

I hope the optimization will be good on PC.
Kiwami 2 is finally playable at 60 FPS and 80% texture resolution since last update. That's a good start.

The combat looks like an improvement. But I tried out one of the Japanese demos and the whole thing was pretty much an Assassin's Creed-style tailing mission, which has me worried.

>running around the same goddamn map for the 19th time
Killed all my hype. I’ll pick it up when it’s under $20.

I want to get it but there's so much shit releasing that week. CTR, SamSho, Mario Maker 2 and Judgment. It's a shame that Sega more or less sat on the game for six months.

Using Kamurocho over and over each year was actually pretty neat. We got to see what Kiryu and everyone else would get up to each year and watch the city develop with shit like Kamurocho Hills being built. Now that they've gone with a new protagonist, though, they might as well have done a new city.

That's basically the beginning of the chapter 1 demo. The rest of it involves piecing stuff together, lockpicking, and then infiltrating a yakuza-controlled building. It definitely sucked though, AC at least doesn't have NPCs turn on a dime and double-back to where you are hiding and then see you, happened to me in the first demo and I was pissed.

>Releasing against Shadowbringers, Mario Maker 2, Bloodstained and Super Neptunia RPG
Is Sega stupid?

yes

Wtf, it's judgment and not judgement? I'm an ESL and never noticed until today

I stopped being excited when I found out it was set in Kamurocho. Stop reusing assets you hacks.

It's judgement in English and judgment in American.

Unless it has some yakuza cameos then I’m not interested.

Will wait for the next yakuza game.

>judgement has launchers
>FFXV doesn't

Real talk, for those who played the game already (nip version), How would you rate it?

>be japan
>have a degenerate voice actor
>ban the game so degeneracy does not spread
> sell it to gaijin degenerates without morals.

No wonder the jews fear the samurai they have morals.

To add to this, I'm Australian and we use the US "Judgment" for some reason.

It wouldn't have been such an issue if he had just beat or groped someone. It's just that Japan have a zero tolerance policy on drugs. Which is fantastic.

For Yakuza and Kiryu, sure, I gave them a pass.

Starting a “new IP” and STILL using the same fucking map is just beyond shameful and lazy.

>groping schoolgirls on train good
>doing whatever you want to your own body bad
literally "it's ok when japan does it"

No we don't.

hcourt.gov.au/publications/judgments

actually, devs specifically confirmed no yakuza cameos
videogamer.com/news/judge-eyes-wont-have-any-cameos-from-yakuza-characters

If you want to get into semantics it has a couple.
Ono Michio is used as a disguise for a crime.
There's a new Shakedown.
Shin Amon is out for revenge for Jo.

>Have to play this on my PS4 instead of my PC because Sega won't do a dual release
>My PC can run Yakuza Kiwami 2 at 75 FPS and I have to deal with a "dynamic" resolution and 30 FPS on Pro

Attached: 1552076134937.png (578x435, 316K)

I'll buy it on PC.

>"dynamic" resolution
What are you even talking about? It's the same as 6 and K2 on a Pro, 1080p 30 FPS. You're not actually playing with the 4K mode on a Pro, are you?

Japan takes drugs VERY seriously. Pic related, a famous musician apologizing after being arrested when police found 2.2 grams of of pot in his apartment.

Attached: as.jpg (630x420, 144K)

Honestly, I didn't know either game had performance options.

Pro has a 1080p mode and a 4K mode. You can force 1080p mode by just setting the resolution in the settings to 1080p if you do have a 4K monitor/TV, if it's hooked to something at 1080p then that's on by default. 1080p mode is always more for stable performance, options, and it usually downsamples. 4K mode is usually not even hitting 4K and you're getting framerate hits constantly so it's never worth going into. It makes sense if you're on an Xbone X (and even there it's hit or miss if it's worth doing it at all), but on a Pro it's never worth it.

i wanted then i saw the FPS
gonna wait for PC version

youtube.com/watch?v=sAvoUTrsOnM

>2.2 grams
Is that like a joint? Doesnt seem like much.

You guys do know that you can play it 5 days early by getting it digitally on PSN right?

That's just the 900p 25fps beta version, though.
The full game's release date hasn't been announced yet.

>digital
imagine cucking yourself like this lol.

>pay $60 for game
>game cant even reach 30fps
kek

>Was the Japanese version any good
It was awesome. One of the best games RgG studio ever made. But only if you don't mind long and complex story..

Attached: heh.jpg (576x545, 128K)

>RGG
>long story
long starts at 30 hours sweetie and if you play only the story missions the longest you get is like 20 hours at best if you really suck with Yakuza 0

Judge Eyes has longest story, ya retard

its gonna take 15 hours and 8 of them gonna be just the cutscenes

I played it and you're fucking retarded

Pc version exist.

Day 1 of course. Havent played much since Days Gone

stay mad shill

>thread full of port begging and platform wars
I love Yakuza threads!

>pc version
lol, gonna be a long wait, kiddo

>9 days
You mean 5? It's weird too, has there even been like you know ANY marketing at all?
With all the effort they're putting into the game localization-wise with the fully voiced english dialogue and two types of subtitles I'm afraid they're in for a commercial flop.

Attached: chrome_2WanLBM0G3.png (516x56, 6K)

Judgement's release date was announced well before those were

lul JE story is like 40-50 hours long you twat. And that's not counting sub quests or mini games

It's not port begging when a pc version is already confirmed coming.

One can only imagine being this retarded

No it doesn't. The only thing they've even said about a PC port is they're "considering the possibilities".
pcgamer.com/judgment-may-come-to-pc-says-producer/
There's also no way in hell they'd ever release it this soon considering Kiwami 2 just came out not too long ago.

That's fine, a few months down the line... But it's coming. 60fps is worth the wait. Just like Kiwami 2

yeah, sure buddy

Attached: 1551977463940.jpg (1200x675, 210K)

How long is long? Because Yakuza 5 felt like the longest out of all the Yakuza games.

The only other thing I heard is that SEGA is now considering PC ports for future RGG games in mind from the start. Not that Judgment will be unplayable for me but I'm torn between waiting for a PC port of buying a physical copy day 1.

>9 days
It's coming this Friday if you pre-order digitally.

the whole drug thing really turned me off of this game

If anything I'd assume they'd go for 3-5 HD, then 6, then they'd jump to Judgment before Shin if anything considering they're trying to space them out (Though with less time between game releases) and they're going in order. They've already shown us that they'd rather go in series order after not releasing 6 after K1 despite listing it in their financials. Considering Judgment takes place after 6 that might be what they want to do, but who knows what's going through Sega's head considering 3-5 HD weren't even announced to get localizes at E3 so now we have to wait for TGS of all things to see.

I haven't really been following the announcements. Is Shin going to be a proper game? I thought it was just online gacha shit?

Shin's the next mainline game featuring Ichiban, Online is the gacha game that shows us a prequel story for Ichiban (But one guy a couple weeks or months ago said the story is apparently a different take on the one we're supposed to see in the main game according to Sega?) The Gacha game is just an excuse for them to have everyone interact and get that sweet sweet whale money.

i'm looking forward to it, but i hope the tailing missions are something that are exclusive to this game specifically.
i wasn't a fan of it in other games, so i hope they don't slap it in shin.

Why doesn't it say only on ps4? genuine question since they didnt announce it for PC

Oh shit, forgot about this. Yeah, I'm hyped, at least a little

Have it preordered. This is what I'm waiting for.

Wasn't this that game that got delayed because some VA got busted for drugs? Did they find a new VA and redo all the lines?

No. It didnt get delayed. Japanese sales were halted for a bit from what i heard though.

>Game glorifying Yakuza members
>Not complete degeneracy
C'mon now, user. This is from a developer that adds Japanese porn stars to his games, while focusing on Japanese night life.

So they just laid low for a bit to let the news cycle pass?

It wasn't delayed here, this was always the release date even before the scandal. They stopped selling it in Japan both physically and digitally (Including removing the chapter 1 demo) until they swapped out Pierre and then started selling it at a "New Price" version without him on the cover and for I think ¥3000. Picture related is what the new guy looks like and here's a video on it:
youtube.com/watch?v=YNmdJIXY344

Attached: Pierre.png (854x480, 949K)

Do you have a nice Yakuza collection?

How does this game plays on base PS4? I'm wondering if I should buy it or wait few months for PC.

See On Pro with the chapter 1 demo I saw no framedrops personally but considering it seems to be based on 6's build of the DE and not K2's (Because you instantly load into fights) the framedrops do make some sense on base PS4s.

Nope. I'm still missing BP2, PS2 1 and 2 (I have HD on PS3 just not the PS2 copies which I want), and JP 5 for the physical copy.

>BP
Is there an english patch for those, or just guides?

I picked up the reprints of 1 and 2 while that was a thing, not sure if they are still doing that. They still had the booklets and memory card holder in the case which was nice. Dont think there is any difference at all between the originals and the reprints.

youtube.com/watch?v=j9M1Fl85p9c
Hm. Looks like cutscenes tend to go down alot but atleast in gameplay it's holding above 28.
I guess I'll play it once on PS4 then wait out for PC release on trying doing 100%.

Just guides, the first game's patch has been in limbo for at least two years now despite the guy leading it posting they need help and KHH posting he's got most of the work done, second game only had a menu patch which I'm not even certain was real or not. You can find links to people talking about it and a Youtube video has a link to a download (Which doesn't provide the patch because that was in the second part which had an expired link), but that's been lost to time.

I'm really only in it for the detective mystery stuff. Does it do a good and satisfying job at that? Or is it shallow "follow that guy and wait for cut scene stuff."

I can't speak for the whole game but in chapter 1 after you tail the guy you have to piece together a small thing regarding cameras and their directions to pinpoint where some things happened, you interrogate a guy, and then you basically lie your way into a yakuza-owned building by picking a lock, breaking their generator (I think it was a generator), posing as a repairman, then going into their security room and snooping around for evidence (Which you have to piece together to find a code for a safe) and then you fight the guy who owns the place once you get enough evidence. At least from the chapter 1 demo it gave off the impression you have to investigate quite a bit and not just by following someone. There's even areas (Like outside of the Yoshida Batting Center and inside Little Asia) where you can smoke a cigarette and eavesdrop on people.

more like five days, sucker

Damn that's a lot. And did you have a fair amount of control or were you rail roaded through all that?

if it comes to pc, it's a day one buy.

WE BREAKING THE WORURD

WE BREAKING THE RURES

Judgementu

Gonna pick it up, but will probably wait a month or two just because there is like 3 other games coming out that I want to pick up and Yakuza games tend to go on sale quickly.

Isn't it 5 days, early access digital and 9 days for physical? Is there even any bonus for pre-ordering digital or physical?

same, i mean i already pre ordered it on ps4, but i'll still buy it day one if it comes out on PC

yeah, digital gets it on friday and no bonuses for either version, really

As someone who's only played Yakuza 0, I've been pining over whether to play Yakuza 6 next and then play yakuza kiwami 1, 2, (and hope 3,4 and 5 get released on PS4) after that, or to play kiwami 1, 2, and then 5, and just ignore the 3-game gap inbetween; or just to play kiwami 1, kiwami 2, the ps3 versions of 3,4 and 5, and then 6.

But I suppose I can play Judgement since it seems to be better than all of them (except for 0 of course) and you don't need to know the story before hand, right? Maybe after that, they'll release 3,4, and 5 in the west.

Attached: yakuza.webm (640x358, 2.3M)

>and hope 3,4 and 5 get released on PS4

They did announce they are porting 3 to PS4. Tho it won't be a Kiwami style remake, it'll just be a port of the ps3 version.

3,4 and 5 remaster will be ported to ps4. Nothing new, just improved framerate and loading time compared to the ps3 version.

Go play Kiwami 1 and 2. They aren't as good as 0 but still decent enough to enjoy.

All of it took place one after the other, there were cutscenes in between a couple of them. They were hands-off mostly but it's still a linear thing.

With the camera bit they give you a picture of the angle the camera was at but you have to figure out where it actually is in the alley it takes place in.
The interrogation you can't fail as far as I understand but if you choose the correct choices based on your reasoning you get better SP (The EXP of the game). I'm pretty sure you can't fail, you just get more EXP if you do it right.
There's a bit where you use your drone to scope out the yakuza guy's place that nets you extra SP if you fly around scoping the place out and don't just beeline it towards the guy.
Breaking the generator is a set path as is disguising yourself and entering, but once you get inside the building and into the security room they sort of give you a general idea and you need to explore the room finding stuff until you figure out how to open the safe (Though the solution is hilariously obvious).

Don't play 6 until you've played 5 bare minimum because it literally starts the game with the ending cutscene and the ending cutscene you see spoils the entire journey of 5 (Basically what everyone's hard work led to). You also won't get who Akiyama, Date, Daigo, or Haruka even are and they're all main characters in the game (Kiryu even has a thing with Daigo that would fall flat on you if you never played 2 through 5), and there's several references that will fly by your head, especially if 0 is your only game so far.
Go play Kiwami and then Kiwami 2. We already know 3, 4, and 5 got remasters meant for the western (and Chinese) market so we're all just waiting for the localization announcement. Since E3 didn't have them wait and see what TGS brings since they'll probably announce it there now.
Judgment takes place after 6 but as far as I know it doesn't reference stuff story-wise. It has some references to older games though.

Thanks, so what you guys are saying I should leave 6 until after I've played 1,2,3,4, and 5?

Any idea when they're getting released in the west? Or should I just go for ps3 versions?

should I just play judgement in the mean time?

Attached: 1511528306158 (1).webm (1920x1080, 2.93M)

>Any idea when they're getting released in the west?
Again, since they weren't announced at E3 our only real hope is TGS which is in a couple of months (Where they announced Judgment getting localized to begin with). If they don't announce them there then just get the PS3 versions. Keep in mind these versions are just HD remasters, they're not Kiwami-tier remakes.
Judgment is entirely up to you, you'll miss a couple references but as far as I understand nothing more. I don't think it even spoils 6 even with a certain area being in it.

Actually now that I remember, didn't the entire epilogue of Yakuza 0 basically tell you everything that happens in later games?

I love Anri!

>she will never Ara, ara~ your pasty white gaijin penis

Wait it wasn't the main character that got busted? All the fuss was about a supporting character?
Japan is so fucking weird.

drug offense is serious shit in japan. Your entire life will be ruined and you can't find work anymore.

Consequences to the accused I can understand. Recalling a project they were involved in and scrubbing their existence in fear of repercussion towards the product itself is baffling.

Reactions to drug stuff in Japan are as bad as the worst #MeToo stuff is in the west.
So basically imagine Pierre Taki being treated as a Japanese Weinstein or Kevin Spacey, and then being turned into a Stalin-era nonperson.

The Japanese gaming industry simply loves censorship

Attached: becky23.png (763x933, 1.07M)

Only as far as 1 and only in vague ways. They tell you Nishiki becomes a cunt, they tell you Kiryu goes to jail, they tell you Majima fell under Shimano, they tell you minor things about Kazama and Reina, and they tell you something dreadful happened to Dojima, that's about it from what I remember. It's definitely not spoilers for anything past 1.

frontlinejp.net/2018/12/20/review-judge-eyes-shinigami-no-yuigon/

Really want to get in the yakuza series for years but never got around it. Which game do i start with anons?

Attached: 1556663533914.png (598x628, 383K)

1 or its remake if you're interested in following the plot. Original 1 or 2 if you're just interested in seeing how the series progressed in terms of gameplay.

1 on PS2 and then go along with release order.
0 on PS4/PC and then go to K1, K2, then 3, 4, 5, 6, Judgment.

Either way is fine, but if you go the latter you'll be hopping around varying levels of gameplay polish, and jumping from Kiwami 2 to 3 makes you go from the latest engine to the start of the PS3 engine. If jumping around like that would bother you just keep that in mind. The former starts you off right at the start and there's a forced dub that's hilarious that you'll have to sit through, but you'll see how the series advanced.

Either way keep in mind both 1 and 2 and K1 and K2 are worth playing, they all have different content the other doesn't have.

Anyone else going to fight their instincts and wait for the PC port? I'm going to have to struggle, let's do it together bros.

Attached: dwfww.jpg (1024x427, 21K)

What's the easiest way to make yakuza 0 look better on PC? I checked the PC gaming wiki but it read like all the stuff they suggested doesn't work anymore due to later patches?

He is a very important supporting character

The start of the PS3 engine is Kenzan. That said the jump from 2 to 3 was amazing for me when 3 came out in 2009 because I just finished 2 in 2008, and the city was now seamless instead of being a bunch of zones

I know it's Kenzan, but to most people they're jumping from 2 to 3 or K2 to 3, not 2 to Kenzan to 3. Same deal with 5 to 0, not 5 to Ishin to 0.

Nope

Is it PS4 only or is it coming to PC?

PS4 only for now. PC version hasn't been announced yet. Might take a few months or they could first release 3-5 HD in the west first for both PS4 and PC and only then port Judgment.

assuming this becomes it own proper series, i'd like them to create and entirely original city for it, and leave kamurocho as a yakuza exclusive thing.

>ctrl+f "PC"
>26 results
This is getting tiring.

>durrnalists make sure to point out "it wuz only a small amount though! Lol! Who doesn't have some cocaine on the weekends, amirite fellas?!"
Wastes of oxygen.

nah

So it comes out a few days early digitally...right? Why? Can anyone explain the rationale for me? Is Capcom trying to phase out physical releases? Does it have to do with the scandal in Japan over the actor? I want muh ace attorney yakuza but I also want it in a box...

With 0, Kiwami 1 and Kiwami 2 on PC, the series now has a following on PC, so expect to see PC brought up a bunch of times in the future for every single Yakuza, if not every single game, ever, so long as developers keep insisting on pushing back PC releases instead of releasing on all platforms at the same time. See also: Samurai Shodown

Wait, I already had planed to play CTR for the next couple of weeks, why couldn't they put it other month, goddamit

>Capcom

It's SEGA, and every company wants to phase out physical copies since it cuts on their costs and kills the used game market so yeah, expect physical copies to die within the next 10 years except for collector's edtions maybe. Comes out on the 21 digitally if you pre-order, but it's only 4 fucking days, just wait it out and get it physical.

t. salty console cuck upset that pc is now lead platform while ps4 gets 900p 25fps scuffed port

>Musician has a small amount of drugs
dude that's just nothing, everybody does drugs
>Idol blows the cock of a male idol and brags on it in a private LINE conversation
REEEEEEEEEEEEEE BURN THE WITCH, SLUT, DON'T EVEN DARE TO SHOW UP AGAIN

Why not take it up with the devs/publishers on twitter or writing them an email? I'll never understand the mentality of people who keep posting "X port when?" in these threads, not even talking about PC and Yakuza, but in general. It just seems pointless since no one knows anything about it.

I'm an idort though. I even played Kiwami 2 on PC because of better framerate but I don't bring up platform wars in every single thread like you fags do.

Both are stupid. Expecting famous people to not do drugs and blow cocks is stupid. Everybody knows they're doing it but they only get punished when they get found out. You think Taki is the only one doing cocaine, fuck you, a bunch of japs probably do it too, they just hid it better.

>ywn be the yakuza who gets to fuck all idol girls

I miss when yakuza threads were chill before 0babbys and portbeggers

PC PORT WHEN?

You mean when the series was dying in the west and there were 6 people discussing these games in these threads? Yeah, great times.

this looks like shit. watch dogs looks better

>muh sekrit klub
Eat shit, boomer.

The base PS4 version runs like absolute ass

Any news on the PC port?

go ask sega

As if they'd answer my question.

>playing the shitstation 4 version

It'll be out by 2035.

then why ask here?

Cope, snoyfag

An actor who was in the game got caught with drugs so they dev'd him out of it which delayed the game.

Why not? Is video game discussion haram in yakuza threads?

>Why not?
nobody's going to know the answer to the question if SEGA themselves haven't said a thing about it.

sluuuuuuuuuut

Doesn't hurt to ask though. No need to be an ass about it.

I'm waiting for the PC port

get out of my thread

just like how america takes incels seriously after the rise of trump

The rest of the game is grounded in reality then the combat just takes you right out of it.

Look. I've suffered through Dragon's Dogma on PS3. Judgment can't be nay worse.

America takes incels seriously?

game's really fun, played it at a friends.
only real issue i had when playing was that the extreme heat mode variant made you completely invincible, like the health bar wouldn't drop while i was getting smacked.

Must be upgrades because in the demo you get knocked down in it and take damage on top of it draining the meter significantly. It barely lasts like 15 seconds without upgrades though I know you can extend it.

>America takes incels seriously
Pretty sure America ignores incels, which is how Trump was able to get a stealth victory. The only concern became how the electorate works, and how hillbillies are able to influence policies which affect real people.

But that's how it is in practically all the Yakuza games

>ps4 exclusive*
>*also on PC
Nice exclusives

Yeah. That's why I don't like the Yakuza games

What happens when you're walking down the street and a Yakuza slaps your ass while your girlfriend watches?
