I've always wanted to PLD but frustrations in antiquated design decisions pushed me away from staying with it more than one tier per expansion, but now that they fixed all of them and then some it's free real estate. Sticking RDM for the MSQ but if it's as shafted as it appears to be, I might switch and try DNC out after since the idea of a pure support DPS is interesting and more viable for end-game content. Never been a fan of tanks so I'll not use GNB. Besides that I'll rotate as normal between healers and stick with whichever feels best for Shadowmemers.

Faces all look terrible and their skeleton is unsettling. I played around in the character creation for an hour and couldn't get one creation that looked any better than the current races. Also they have no ass except for in their starting outfit which everyone will use.

No combat sound test in character creation is the biggest offender. If one emote sounds bad its not a huge problem, it's not something you hear unless you do it manually. I don't think I have ever heard a voiced emote used in a cutscene by my character. Yet the combat sounds are something you hear literally all the time and some of those voices are absolutely grating. To the point that you can hear them over a billion spells being cast in Eureka at the same time. Would be a huge improvement to be able to try it out in CC instead of needing to go through the long ass intro until I can get out into combat.

In terms of plot progression, all the scenes that happen at the same 'level' happen at roughly around the same time. So, all the level 15 class quests take place before all the level 20 class quests, and then all the level 50 quests take place at roughly the same time, and so on. So just think of it as a flashback arc.

Then yes, absolutely. If you're not shit at the game and you're in a discord or something will call outs you can clear on your first try. You just have to listen and, once again, not be shit. Go as a dps so you're not as much of a burden. Definitely do not be a tank without +2 elemental armor.

It's marginally better but the character still looks awful.

If you like it though you shouldn't change it since it's your character and other people's opinion shouldn't matter but I think every single aspect of your character bar the eye colour looks awful.

PVE has always been better in FFXIV. Way more interesting bosses and dungeon designs. 95% of dungeon bosses in WoW is tank and spank, whereas almost every dungeon boss in FFXIV have several mechanics per fight.

Not really, it's more like a QTE than a rhythm game. Depending on which dance you do it gives you either 2 or 4 random buttons that you have to press in sequence. Your UI lights up which step you have to press next and if you miss you don't fail the dance, you can just try the step again.

also to add to this, if you're australian I highly recommend using Mudfish, it lowers my ping from 180 to ~130 (mileage will vary depending on what your default route to japan is), is -extremely- cheap and has an option that results in oGCD's being much more responsive/less delayed by latency.

I wonder why (some) people still think DRG will be auto include come Shadowbringers. Battle Litany (with the nerf) and Dragon Sight provides a tiny amount of overall raid dps. If SAM or BLM outdps them by like 1000dps then seems like they'll likely provide more overall dps than DRG.

Anyone know if you can use RDM to get Mentor. I have to ton of crafting questions to ask but just got kicked out of the network from losing returner. Just need a 60dps (I have RDM 70) and 20 more dungeons to get mentor but I don't see RDM counting on the wiki.

You can reset it every 60 seconds as of 4.0 but you still end up with a 30 second window every two minutes where you don't have Tri-D.
This is the top parse for 011s by a SMN. The fight lasted almost 8 minutes and they had to hardcast their dots 4 times because of how Tri-D resets work out. This is a recurring theme in every good SMN parse.

I admit I haven't played Summoner but if the assumption is that you want more or less 100% DoT uptime I don't see how you won't have to hardcast.
>Fight start - use TD, then DWT to reset
>30 seconds in - use TD to reapply dots
>60 seconds in - use FBT to reset then TD to reapply dots
>90 seconds in - dots are falling off but TD still has 20 seconds of cooldown left and there's still 30 seconds before DWT is up
Unless it's a DPS gain to just ignore your dots for 20 seconds until TD comes back, you have to hardcast.

Not having your dots up is a massive dps loss as both fester, ruin 2, 3 and 4 do more dmg with the dots up, and by more I mean a fucking lot.

its not your fault, its the healers for doing too much DPS, if they had healed more and DPS'd less they wouldnt feel a need to remove all your self heals to force healers to heal more.

The current armor designers have a massive obsession with robes, coats and other forms of butt-flaps. The traditional Samurai armor doesn't have these things, so that's why we have a million different types of Eastern cloth instead (Or someone has a major crush on Auron).

The summon is instant cast but the egi doesn't come out instantly, it still has to play its summon animation before it starts attacking. All actions in the game have an animation time before their effects apply. It's why Benediction sometimes doesn't save the target but still goes on cooldown, the spell was used but its effects didn't apply before the target died.

You could always get the PLD to cover you for the same effect.

BA is hardest content in game.

Yes, a recast timer of 10 seconds. Losing out on ten seconds of slightly better Ifrit DPS is a much better alternative to dieing.

Yes, and the vast majority of them very short delays, especially survival skills. Bene and Hallowed are the exceptions because of how powerful they are. We have no way of knowing how long the delay is going to be, especially with the new pet system, but I can guarantee you it's going to be just as short as RoE/Shadeshift/Manaward
