first game has surprisingly emotive characters for the time, not amazing models in themselves but they wring plenty of emotion out of their faces and actions. In the new game they are really wooden, more like oblivion characters that just stand and sway slightly while their mouths move.

Hard to tell, either Mitsoda will ensure that choice and consequence and writing are good and the game is enjoyable still, or the game is complete trash and I can finally write this shit off.

Hard to say really, people are just looking for faults, the original game was a miracle, and it's basically our game, the new one looks safe, it looks like it's being propped up for strong mainstream appeal, especially with the swathe of fake nerds that rode in on the wave of late 00s trash. I personally don't care about small minor flaws, I'm more disgusted by how fucking smooth that shit is, the grunge, the filth in the original, it was easily part of the atmosphere, now even the grunge looks clean.

I'm pretty impressed by the level design and how it not only has verticality now, but also has obstacles that you need certain disciplines to pass. That should make it more replayable.

Dude, it was a buggy trainwreck.. It's a great game, but mostly because of the community effort. On release it was really bad. You had to patch the game just to finish it.
