The typical pokemon fan ages out of the game in a single generation. According to Gamefreak, kids over 10 are not the intended demographic.

What's worse is that it will be impossible to transfer over Pokemon over to Sword/Shield until home comes out, so they literally could just leave the non-Galar Pokemon out entirely at launce and patch them in when home comes out and it would be exactly no different than if they were in at launch. And there's no release date on home so they could theoretically delay it till December 31st 2020 without ever having to tell anyone it was delayed.

Any status move becomes "Max Guard" which is basically Protect.
Then each type has a "Max _____" that is a big ass move of that type with some added effect.

They did Megas. People complained about them being too limited. So now they're doing mechanics that work for everything (Z-Moves in Gen 7, Dynamax in Gen 8) and people complain they aren't tailored enough.

I've looked into this before and I've yet to see a single source other than people assuming it from a webm where a Steelix pops in with the clouds aboves its head though, and then people assuming that means every Pokemon has multiple dynamax models and that that's why they "ran out of space" (even though they didn't even say space was the limitation, workload was).

While Morimoto wasn't able to fix the level curve problem, he expanded on Silver and, with Celebi, on Giovanni as well, restored Viridian Forest and expanded on Mt. Silver, added Voltorb Flip instead of completely removing slots, added Pokéathlon which is a fun minigame with very decent prizes, developed the Pokéwalker, which is one of the most accurate pedometers ever, and added ways to interact with gym leaders outside of the gyms, which helps giving the world more life. I won't deny that he wasn't perfect and that the gamwes are still flawed, but he fucking tried his best.

Tapu's I can understand but you'd be fool to think UB's can't be brought back easily. They don't have any real connection to Alola outside of the region being a horspot for tears in reality, they could pull this stuff with any other region if they wanted to. Removing Mega evolutions is a good thing. Shit was a mistake, or at the very least poorly distributed. Pinsir getting one is fine. Garchomp is not.

From what I gather, the issue is really only for the die-hards who actually use PokeBank and spend years IV training specific teams or whatever. This is ultimately a small if vocal percentage of players. The majority will just pick it up and play through it without even trying to catch all the Pokemon that are in game.

By whose standards? It sold over ten million, more than Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon, despite being a $60 console game on a much smaller install base than the 3DS.
