Is Pathologic Classic remake worth playing or can I skip right to Pathologic 2

2 doesn't have the Bachelor route. Play at least the Bachelor route then jump to 2 for the Haruspex route.

They're both shit walking simulator games. You will regret "playing" them

Either play the HD Bachelor route or wait until the 2 Bachelor route

Classic HD has a lot of story differences, the way it plays feels quite different with the letter system for quests and a lot more dialogue from characters not important to your own route, and actually has all 3 campaigns.
You can play the second one first but skipping Classic altogether would be stupid, since it's a really good game even if a bit clunky at first.

Any reason for that? I understand that Bachelor s the beginner friendly route because of the "fish out of water" protagonist

Yeah, Bachelor used to be the "easy modo" guy.
There's also the fact his route was the only one that was really finished in the original (Haruspex and especially Changeling's later days are pretty empty), so that's probably why Artemy's route got released first this time, so they'd be able to get his done without rushing for once (even if the final act does still feel rushed as all fuck).

>no different endings for letting your bound die and keeping them alive
what the fuck were they thinking

Yes, but also each character has a different story and his very good, some may argue the best of the three.

Bachelor was definitely the most "complete" in the original and he's a really cool character, but I can't stand the Kains. Knowing his ending benefits them kind of soured his route for me, even if I love the setup of a logical city doctor having to deal with the backwards tradition of a shitty little town.

How does destroying the town and defying the powers that be benefit the Kains? I don't recall just that it saves Eva's soul and ends his role as a toy in a children's game allowing him to ascend to the "real" world.

They basically rule the "new" town that's built afterwards, the only shot of it you get in his ending cinematic is of Maria hanging out with her orbiter harem.

i will fight death

You're going to shitpost in one of several Smash threads, and you're going to like it!

I guess just one route means there's not much to talk about, so no fucking way these threads can survive in the E3 hype Yea Forums ecosystem for much longer.
Oh, well. Looking forward to Bachelor's route in 2, Haruspex's comfy adventure was my favorite in the original but I get the feeling some real shit is going to go down on Daniil's side this time considering he's not the introductory route anymore and how cool Marble Nest was.

Doesn't the game declare Maria the winner of the three mothers before the final day with the others saying the town will be her will anyway?
I recall a quest going to the others for items showing they concede to her.

Only as part of Bachelor's storyline, Haruspex changes the mistresses and Changeling maintains the status quo.
Since his route is about protecting the tower and upholding the Kains' utopianism, they're the faction that's the most benefited throughout it. It's a perfect introduction to the game and his other bound are great, especially Peter, but that's just how the cookie crumbles, I guess.

Correcting myself because I feel like I worded part of that post a bit badly in my rush to get a reply done before the thread was bumped off the board and into Oblivion.
Considering that scene in the final day with the Powers That Be and Daniil's personality, it's more accurate to say his goals just happen to coincide with what the Kains want rather than him really wanting to help them or even really giving a shit about what happens to the town after he's done saving the Polyhedron. The fact they basically take advantage of that just makes it worse to me.

>Since his route is about protecting the tower
>after he's done saving the Polyhedron.
Honestly I took his ending more about wanting to destroy the town and end the children's game kind of kick over the sandcastle rather than protecting the polyhedron. I kind of feel that were there an option of destroying both town and polyhedron it would still fit his choices.
Unless I am completely forgetting the value of the polyhedron outside its artistic merit.

There is definitely an element of wanting to spite the Powers That Be, but it's like a double "fuck you" to reality, because the reason he's fascinated with the Polyhedron is that it's a physics-defying miracle that should not exist yet somehow does. It represents the same thing he was striving for with Thanatica, man defeating nature, except instead of fighting death it's a big fucked up tower thing.
But it would be nice if he had an ending that nuked both the Tower and the Town in the second game, if they decide to play up the Powers That Be element more in his route considering it was really minor in Artemy's since you no longer get to talk with them at the end.

Yeah a fuck you, fuck that shit, fuck this place, fuck all of you I'm out of here ending would be enjoyable to have.

Having to add later again because I'm retarded, in the other routes, he still tries to convince you to go with his solution and save the Polyhedron, even though he has no idea about the children's game outside his own route.
Yeah, I found it odd he had an option to say he was staying in his final day. The whole thing was an absolute nightmare to him, not even a million weird architectural monstrosities that may or may not be magical and represent utopianism or whatever could save that shithole.
Really looking forward to Eva and Peter in the remake, I hope they keep the Peter's suicide attempt sidequest in where he wants to self-immolate with twyrine as fuel. That was funny as fuck
