Everything we know:
>direct sequel to the ending of BotW (Link starts with the Master Sword, Zelda has new haircut, Hyrule castle is now floating, towers/shrines/divine beasts are gone)
>resurrection of Ganondorf, not just Ganon/Demise
>set in the same Hyrule as the first game
>Zelda not 100% confirmed but heavily hinted to be playable (possible co-op multiplayer hinted by Aonuma)
>darker than BotW in tone, not related to Majora's Mask
>new gameplay elements, likely related to Link's arm
>dev team is highly influenced by/currently playing Red Dead Redemption 2
>possibly more in-depth customization (Link is wearing hylian armor over the Champion's Tunic)
>new rideable animals (pack animal Zelda is riding was never seen in the first game)
>strong indication classic-styled dungeons will be returning
>Fi's theme is the song playing in the reveal trailer, Zelda says in the end of the first game she can't hear the Master Sword anymore, heavily hinting we will be restoring/remaking the master sword in this game
Anything else?

Will we see the return of the dark world/light world mechanic?
Since we're getting the same gameworld as the first game, I would be surprised if there wasn't a light world/dark world or time travel mechanic of some sort.
Is this BotW:2 or DMC:5? Nero is that you?
>dev team is highly influenced by/currently playing Red Dead Redemption 2
Never played BotW but this makes me pretty interested for this new game
Ashitaka is looking different
I want the castle to become the Ganon Tower
I feel that’s what under the castle. Makes more sense than “flying castle lmao”
It's also way more imposing. Yes, a flying fortress is cool I know but adventure to the bottom of castle's catacombs just to find out you are on ground level because everything rised and is now Ganon's new demonic tower on the center of Hyrule is cool as fuck
>Protagonist somehow doesn't have both hands and has a multi-use tool in its place
This shit is old as dirt isn't it? Sekiro, MGS5, DMC4, Bionic commando, even fucking metroid and megaman dip into that. I wonder if the hand will be a memorable sidekick, if that thing has a mind of its own.
I thought this was at the end of the timeline but it looks like link is turning into that nigga that teaches you moves in Twilight Princess.
Are you retarded? They already confirmed that this is the end of the timeline AND that the shadow from TP is Link (OoT Link)
Not really. The trend, if you could even call it one, started with MGS5, before that the only games that had special hands were Metroid, Mega Man, old series, Bionic Commando, which hasn't gotten a new game in years, and DMC4, a game that came out 11 years ago. After MGS5, Sekiro is the only new game that has a protag with arm powers. The rest are sequels. I guess it's just a big coincidence.
>the shadow from TP is Link
which is why it's weird that it looks like this Link is turning into skelly link you fucking retarded fucking no reading comprehension summer mong.
They look nothing a like
Maybe I'm looking at it wrong, but does link have facial hair?
>link starts the game with Master Sword
>we will be restoring/remaking the master sword
???????????
It’s going to be amazing Yea Forumsros...
He does. As a concept for BotW they played with multiple versions of of the world and Link to set the tone, including an older Punished Link (OP image), young rocker millennial Link that rode a motorcycle, alien invasion in the over world, lilliputian Link that shrank and explored a minish cap-esque setting, a floating hrule castle with Ganondorf on top etc.
Yeah, that seems way more likely.
After a billion years the sword isn't at its top condition, as it goes off frequently when used in BotW. The fixing part will probably be adressing that.
Someone post that leak from a few days before the reveal
Need cool shit like the Black Tower please.
Great way to increase the amount of content without creating from the scratch.
>Punished Link
>>darker than BotW in tone
Take this fake news out of the pasta already
>Trashgeki no Kyojin
How is it fake news when that's literally what Aonuma said in an interview wccftech.com
>Fi's theme is the song playing in the reveal trailer
Is that what the chanting is?
>tfw excited for BoTW2 but that means Monolith has to delay their Xeno games again
Damnit it, the Monolith team is too talented for their own good, Nintendo keeps making them work on other devs projects. Ah well, all this experience they have working on BoTW can be applied to Xeno games in the future which is great.
Tezuka may have started this for Japan with his Dororo manga/anime
Based I didn’t know that
I'm pretty sure Monolith has a separate team just for the Zelda projects and their A team/main guys are working on the next Xenoblade
Yes it is.
That also pretty much confirms OoT Link creampie'd Malon
awww that be so fucking awesome
wasn't amazed with botw but botw 2 starts great IMO can't wait to know more
During BoTw's development Xenoblade 2 was made by a skeleton crew and it shows.
I was a huge Zeldafag back in the day, today not so much.
That being said:
>Ganondorf
Is this confirmed? Source?
>set in the same Hyrule as the first game
First as in the BOTW, right? Or the first Zelda?
Cause I got the impression that BOTW was the last one in some timeine.
and then they went with the most generic thing, normal link
nice.
did you even watch the trailer?
>mmgh
Xenoblade 2 was also using new engine and had a shorter dev time than Xenoblade 1/Xenoblade X. For the limitations imposed on, I'm impressed with what we got. As long as the main composer and writers stay with the team its going to remain fantastic in my opinion.
>Ganondorf
It's pretty much heavily implied. Red haired skellington and the green wisps are gerudo text.
>same Hyrule
This is implied to be the same game world as BotW if we take Aonuma's words at face value.
>is this confirmed?
Ganondorf isn't not confirmed but there's no real reason to wait for official confirmation, he wears gerudo clothes, is confined under the castle (where Ganon resurrects), is dark and evil, has red hair and the path that leads to him has murals of depicting him as a trident-wielding horseman, no way he's not Ganondorf
>first as in the BotW
Yes
>I got the impression that BotW was the last one in some timeline
Yes this was confirmed, if they finally picked up a timeline to put BotW in they didn't revealed it yet but it's confirmed it happens way after any other game
Gotta start out basic for what is basically an entirely new play style of Zelda
I hope they revisit that minish cap idea eventually though, it could be so good if done right. Maybe after BotW2.
What do you guys think of the idea that that shit is twili magic
and we get twilight realm as a sort of dark world mechanic
and a midna cameo [\spoiler]
be nice to see them do something more with the twili stuff
>twili magic
What the fuck is that
Is that some Twilight Princess shit? Because I never played that past the intro, shit was boring as fuck.
It was cool for hacking your Wii though
I think my favorite speculation right now is that Link is using Zonai magic that's older than Sheikah technology and Ganondorf used to be considered a good guy who would fight against the barbaric Zonai tribe
ya missed THE best zelda companion
>never played past the intro
>feels like his opinion has some merit
It’s going to be great. Btw guys the Zonai are the Twili. That is why that dark area is dark forever.
How do we know this?
Midna is dead as fuck and that's a good thing, Link already has Zelda and Fi
in his defense TP does have a really slow opening
Yep.
More times than I like to admit, honestly. It was cool. Am I stupid?
I didn't knew about the GDC things but saw it here and looked into it.
Oh yeah, so that. I don't know. I didn't got the Ganondorf vibe after BOTW.
Being the in the same world as BOTW is nice, I liked the whole "we are doomed already" world.
I do not believe that thing being Ganondorf. It's so much obvious and nonsense.
The whole end of the world thing happened because the power of Ganon. Where was Ganondorf?
Obviously they can remedy this very easily but I don't know.
I don't want to be Demise but I think it is.
And nice, I prefer this way, without knowing.
The moment they say "BOTW was in this timeline" it will get a lot of hate from every side.
It's not necessary for the enjoyment, I think.
And thank you, anons!
Autistic trailer analysis and multiple interviews with Aonuma since the reveal.
>Midna is dead as fuck and that's a good thing
>Link already has Zelda and Fi
There was nothing good about this post.
No I didn't, Midna has plenty of porn that I've fapped to
I want it to be the majoras mask of botw.
>time travel in botw engine/world
This had better fucking happen
If you can get through WW's absolute fucking slog through Outset/Forsaken Fortress/Windfall you can get through TP's intro
>It's so much obvious
You know we are talking the franchise that has been using the "hero saves the princess from the dark forces of evil" formula for 2 decades right?
>Fi's theme is the song playing in the reveal trailer
Wut? it was clearly Twili music.
Aonuma said in some interview that he actually doesn't care much about timelines. They just make the game they want, then fans bend their minds trying to fit into some timeline.
For now, BotW 2 is happening after 1. That's it.
>whole game of Timeshift stone puzzles from SS, but in the BotW engine
I'm on board with this.
This fanart of 10K year old Dorf needs to stop giving him piercings. It looks awful
Except the part about the black-white gremlin being dead and Link having a turbo waifu ready for action and a sexbot on his sword
Malon and her size 12 stomping feet!! ^w^
What if the legend of 10,000 years ago was a lie and the towers and guardians were created for a different reason, what if the prophecy wasn't a prophecy but something that they knew for a fact was going to happen
Yeah I get it.
And the whole MM vibes is why I think it's going to be different.
BOTW was so different than the usual formula that how can they change what changed?
Not being so basic. I know this not seem plausible, but it's heavily hinted that we will control Zelda.
I think a new-new Zelda game will emerge.
>Ganondorf isn't not confirmed
Ahem
Midna was the only good female main character, Fi was Fi and that sucked, and BotW Zelda was the worst Zelda yet.
>Zelda says in the end of the first game she can't hear the Master Sword anymore,
no, she doesn't?
Link didn't even use the master sword in the first game, he won with light arrows.
Really?
God bless this man.
This is my opinion too. No matter how concise you do a thing in that timeline(s), it will be fucked,
Just give a good game. The conversations about where it belongs is just a bonus.
>I do not believe that thing being Ganondorf. It's so much obvious and nonsense.
Then what is it?
>he whole end of the world thing happened because the power of Ganon. Where was Ganondorf?
In an underground cavern with a magic arm strapping him down from the looks of it
>God bless this man.
Nigga is the reason the timelines are fucked.
Fi was not female.
Wholesome overload.
>Then what is it?
Disregard that, I didn't see that you thought it was Demise. Along that note though, why do you think that it's Demise rather then Ganondorf?
>Fi was not female.
>"Link, the goddess created Fi and the great blade she's a part of for very specific reasons." — Zelda
Your face when one of the earliest scenes in the game is a shot of Impa's gravestone
>>dev team is highly influenced by/currently playing Red Dead Redemption 2
That can be really good or really bad depending on what part of the game they liked the most
That kind of directly conflicts with some of the games though, like how WW explicitly takes place after OoT when the hero of time disappears, and MM follows the hero of time, or how SS was a prequel to everything
They cut Zelda's hair because long hair is a bitch to animate, particularly for a playable character.
That doesn't contradict shit though
The goods parts, probably. Aonuma talked about being influenced by Skyrim before BotW came out.
I don't want to, but I believe it's Demise.
Or just a new character.
I know, it's retarded, but It's Nintendo.
Huh. As far as I remember they always had a timeline linking the series but just for fun, in the development team. HH fucked everything.
And I am sure I have magazines with interviews with Myamoto on OoT and ALttP where he says that all the games are linked and distorted by time. It was not Aonuma that created the whole thing.
He can be the responsible for spitting it out (I don't know), but Myamoto was already playing with the players.
It does, he said they don't give a shit about it yet some games they clearly did connect to others
ganon has even longer/bigger hair
>english
>BotW Zelda
>worst
That still doesn't contradict shit though, they just make the game they want and fans try tie it into an overarching narrative throughout the series
BotW intentionally fucks with every timeline by including elements from all of them.
>Lon Lon Ranch
>Temple of Time
>Goddesses' Statues
>Koroks
>Sheikah
All of these are elements from conflicting timelines.
And Ganon isn't a playable character
Yeah the worst.
alt timelines are there so they can do whatever really
But that's what the timeline is, connections between the games, connections they put into the games. So saying it's all the fans is disingenuous
It kind of directly conflicts with most of the games. Pretty much ever single Zelda game has hard evidence in-game without Hyrule Historia or outside sources to verify a place in the timeline. Most of the games are sequels to another.
and won't be playable
>heavily hinting we will be restoring/remaking the master sword in this game
So the trial of the sword DLC is non canon?
Yeah your taste is the worst
Don't forget there's sea salt on mountains, implied to be there from flooding
>I don't want to, but I believe it's Demise.
It's clearly Ganondorf. The mural on the cave wall was a man riding a horse, wielding a trident. The corpse has jewelry bearing Gerudo symbols, long red hair, and Ganondorf's signature forehead jewel/crown. It also appears to have a chest wound and a broken neck, which is how Ganondorf died in Twilight Princess.
Demise has flames for hair, a white X-shaped marking on his forehead. Every clue points to Ganondorf.
ST Zelda is the best Zelda, so no my taste is pretty good.
That's a actually a decent OoT cosplay. Wish the cosplayer had a more feminine face but other than that, m8, i r8, 8/8.
it would be cool to have non-cinematic events in Zelda
>Fi's theme is the song in the trailer
How'd someone catch this? Is there a YouTube video of it edited or slowed?
I don't think they ever intended Trial of the Sword to be canon as it was clearly made to extend gameplay life into the main game with no story flavor, unlike Champion's Ballad. They could easily retcon it as "alternate timeline" or some shit anyway.
that was restoring Fi to the sword, not fully remaking it
Play the song sideways.
From the same conference it looks like you were originally gonna have to fight Ganondorf on a mountain that had taken off and hovered. Maybe they've changed that to Hyrule castle?
>>strong indication classic-styled dungeons will be returning
Please be true.
I hated, HATED the stupid fucking shrines and the Beast was easy.
Yeah, I said Beast, because all the Beast were the exact same.
fuck tumblr
I want link to have a magic arm that functions as a hookshot
tumblr is dead, it's twitter now
Hard evidence? Nope, not every time, only in a few games.
At the end of the day, a clusterfuck of timelines is not making the games deeper, only needlessly convoluted.
So BotW has no official placement, and they will probably stop placing other games.
>It also appears to have a chest wound and a broken neck, which is how Ganondorf died in Twilight Princess.
And this I didn't saw.
Ok, disregard my previous posts. It's him.
How many (billion) threads have been made in every forum about timeline placements before HH? HH itself is recent, timelines have been discussed by fans since forever.
One more point. This shot appears to depict a shadow of past events. Ganondorf is not yet gripped by the ghostly arm, and notably, you can see his long pointy Gerudo nose in the silhouette. Demise had a huge wide negro nose. It's Dorf.
what a shit design for a tower
Is there a more kino final dungeon?
I'm pretty sure that hand doesn't belong to any person or faction we've seen before, which would make sense if it's this game's gameplay gimmick and/or partner since Nintendo doesn't tend to reuse those. Some of the patterns on the walls in the trailer look similar to the Zonai ruins so maybe it's one of them.
>Hard evidence? Nope, not every time, only in a few games.
>Few games
Oot and MM, Oot > WW > PH > ST. AlttP and Albw, Albw and HH. These are 7 games that cannot be disputed to be connected. OoT and TP, Zelda 1 and 2, AlttP and Links Awakening are all games were claiming they aren't sequels is being disgenious. SS happpens so far in the past that it doesn't matter, and the Downfall reasoning is due to WW existence. FS, MC. and the oracle games were all made by Capcom so thats why they fit not nearly as neatly. There has always been a timeline happening, and small misshaps aren't going to change that. BotW is the first true outlier.
So, 2023, right?
Don't give me the "THEY ALREADY HAVE 50% READY FROM BOTW!"
Playing Ocarina of Time (3DS) for the first time, is there anythng I should know before going into it? I've not played the N64 version either
Based. Paper Mario's final dungeon is the best.
I really wish they don't bring Ganondorf back for this game only to kill him off for good.
We have a clue. The spiraling green energy seems to be composed of floating, twisting letters. They are Gerudo letters.
The comic had a fucking rad design for Ganon Tower(s) but what I'm talking about now is an actual tower, not what they did there
This is the fastest a 3D Zelda has been revealed following a previous one. The main reason for BOTW's delays was issues with physics; since they're re-using that same engine and likely have a clear design goal in mind, we can probably expect the game some time next year.
>Electronic Arts: 500
>Law Enforcement Officers: -1
Sounds about right.
The Water Temple was made a bit easier so don't get smug for getting stuck for less time then the memes say. Layout's the same but they changed up the markings on the wall to guide you more.
See
Nah, the didn't JUST start working on it, this was likely being worked on since the end of the last DLC, which is why we had rumors of more DLC coming that would take place post game. 2021 is pretty likely, 2022 if some shit happens that demands the game be delayed, but no later then that.
Late 2020 or early 2021 is the most likely I'd say

If this doesn't release by end of next year I would be highly surprised. However Nintendo is known for holding back fully finished projects so they can release titles under a steady stream.
Have fun, Navi can be annoying but is good for when you don't know where to go or what to do. Skulltula quest is tedious but is necessary to get all wallet upgrades and heart pieces.
>Zelda not 100% confirmed but heavily hinted to be playable (possible co-op multiplayer hinted by Aonuma)
If this is true, will it be difficult for me to play the game exclusively as Zelda with a friend without them clocking me as the closet tranny that I am?
It's a good game.
Try to play it with the 3D on. If off, it's ok.
It won't be you favorite Zelda and you won't feel the hype around it.
Still, a fucking good game.
just go with it, its a simple game
yfw the hand/companion/important NPC turns out to be a masked Twili male that ends up looking like this.
They have killed him off for good multiple times already
Agreed
But if every Link is the same Link but reincarnated, how can there be two of them in the same place?
It's TP Ganondorf.
He's a ghost, he doesn't physically exist
the hero's shade is just the body, the soul is in the new link
Oh wow, you guys are optimistic.
Seeing the troubles with MP4 and Bayo3 I don't think so.
But I hope you guys are right.
>It's so much obvious and nonsense.
It's clearly the first scene of the game, it doesn't need to be a twist.
They could call BoTW2 the definitive end of the series and the end of the cycle, making any future game happen before this one.
That makes no logical sense in a series with multiple timelines
Metroid Prime 4 is a different team and Bayonetta 3 was announced early just so people felt reassured the Switch would have games. BotW2 is the usual Nintendo schedule as far as we know.
There is no body, all of the hero's shade lessons don't even take place in the real world, in the real world he just shows up as a golden wolf
They could then make a game that happens after Breath of the Wild 2 and feature Ganondorf in it, because this is all pretend. The whole point of throwing away the timeline in BotW was that games shouldn't feel restricted by it.
Metroid Prime 4 was announced early just so people felt reassured the Switch would have games.
After Prime 4 was MIA, I thought people would have learned that teasers that tell you fuck all = game just started development. That's why my reaction to Bayonetta 3's reveal was just
>Ok.
I thought Hyrule Warriors was considered the soft canon merger of the timelines.
Those aren't in house studios. MP4 was because they offloaded it to fucking Scamco and they shoved it off to their SEA division. Bayo is simply because Platinum mismanaging resources, like they typically do.
Nintendo's in house stuff are pretty serious about deadlines and only delayed BotW because shit just simply wasn't working. There is far less reason to delay when they already have a working base for the game and only need to add in the new gameplay mechanics and story elements on top of an already existing world.
MP4 was an outsource disaster and Retro is rumored to have dev problems post-DKC:TF with lots of gossip saying they canceled a near finished Star Fox racing game. Why Nintendo gave them MP4 is amystery to me since most of the original Metroid Prime devs have left the studio.
Bayo 3 is confirmed to be in steady development by one of the studio heads at E3 this year. They consider it one of their flagship titles and most likely have their A team working on it.
Either way, those studios =/= Nintendo EAD and the studios who make the mainline Mario/Zelda games, which are usually very good about meeting project deadlines and having decent QA work.
Am I the only one who thinks it makes a lot more sense for the Downfall timeline to be the very first timeline OoT Link left when he was going back and forth using the Master Sword rather than some alternate reality where he died?
It isn't canon, it's just a fanservice game
It's a great game, enjoy.
Lucky that you're playing the 3DS version. The original Water Temple was a chore because of having to go in and out of the menu all the time, but the 3DS version fixes that so it isn't as annoying.
that would be cute
i hope they fuck [\spoiler]
he turned into a tranny?
It's supposed to be the "Spirit of the Hero", which is like a mantle of power (in this case, the ability to wield the Triforce of Courage). When the Hero of Time died, he gave up the mantle of "the Spirit of the Hero". This is reinforced when the protagonist of The Wind Waker is told that he is NOT a reincarnation of the Hero of Time even though he DOES have the ability to wield the Triforce of Courage. A precedent is set that some mysterious force is separate from the actual bloodline of the heroes, even though many of the past incarnations of the Spirit of the Hero were direct descendants of each other.
If it helps you think about this, the term "mantle" in reference to a title or power that is passed on comes from the story of Elijah the prophet from the Bible. When Elijah ascended to heaven (essentially dying, but most interpretations hold that Elijah didn't "die" when he ascended to heaven) he gave his mantle (a cloak worn on the shoulders) to Elisha which allowed Elisha to perform miracles and hear from God in the same way Elijah did. In the same sense, the Hero of Time passed on his mantle as the Spirit of the Hero upon his death even though he continued to exist as a ghost.
I want Midna to come home
Yes, and then it had to restart development so it's a special case even moreso than Bayonetta 3.
it would be cool if they figured out a way to sort of make it canon, or make a true zelda game with the same concept.
But this is thinking too much about story instead of gameplay and nintendo thinks story shouldn't matter.
I don't think they reincarnate like that, it's probably something like "when someone with some genetics close enough to the original Link is born he's guaranted to be another hero of the goddess despite being a separated individual
That also explains why in Zelda 2 two Zeldas existed, one sleeping for thousands years (and awakened at the end) and another one from Zelda 1
This was my theory even before Hyrule Historia ever came out.
>This is reinforced when the protagonist of The Wind Waker is told that he is NOT a reincarnation of the Hero of Time
That never happens, when the king of red lions says he has no connection to the hero of time he quite literally means that he wasn't the hero of time, they have no idea about the spirit of the hero, they thought the hero of time was going to randomly appear again and save them which shows they absolutely nothing, meanwhile he's explicitly described as the hero of time reborn by Ganondorf.
It depends. Zelda also had a similar teaser for BotW and that ended up actually having started development a year before that. If the whole shit about the physics and then the move to Switch hadn't happened, the game would have released two years after it's announcement. A 3 year dev cycle for a game that massive would have been pretty crazy and only getting delayed for physics and platform change is a pretty good position. 2 year or less dev time to reuse the same world doesn't seem really far fetched.
But a ghost is basically a soul without a body. But that soul should now be in TP Link's body. So this shit about OoT Link being the skelly makes no sense.
This is it. This is gonna be the game Ganondorf wins. We're going downfall timeline 2.
>is there anythng I should know before going into it?
Yeah, it's the basic bitch Zelda that was only truly brilliant for its time and still argued by nostalgiafags to be the best when the truth is that its age is showing.
maybe the soul of the hero and the soul of the body it currently inhabits can coexist in the same body
They don't all have the same soul, they are each their own people. They just share the spirit of the hero
>no sheikah tech
feels good
I miss her too user. Hopefully her descendant or inexplicably TP Link-like offspring will make an appearance.
>same map
>same characters
>same villain
>potential rehash of previous games such as twilight princess
Yea Forums:
>"HOLY SHIT BASED BASED BASED BASED!!!1!"
What is wrong with you people?
Didn't play every single zelda game but can someone explain to me what is the difference between
Ganon
Demise
Ganondorf?
Ok, I suppose this makes more sense as to how the whole Triforce of Courage thing works. I was under the impression they were all reincarnations of the same soul throughout time, but I guess thats not really how it works.
Iirc, the Hero's Shade was a manifestation of OoT Link's regrets at not passing on his skills. Either he had no reason to pass them on to his own children, or he died before they were old enough to learn.
I don't have anything more to add, just giving (You's) to let you all know that all that you siad makes sense.
I just can't see this soon, but yeah, makes sense, you're all right.
Honestly I expect they're aiming for holiday 2021 to drive system sales as we head into mid-life for the system. BotW 2 might actually be in development as a response to the troubles Prime 4 is having. With the engine and many assets already there this can fill the gap while Prime 4 probably end up arriving as late as 2023 with *maybe* just enough time for a sequel before switch reaches end of life. iirc Nintendo were aiming for a 7-10 year lifespan.
Conveniently this also leaves about enough time for a new Zelda project to get underway as a launch or early life title on the next platform.
Demise is an ancient evil Demon that seemingly has always existed.
Ganondorf is a Male Gerudo King who stole the Triforce of Power (and due to SS seems to retroactively be a reincarnation of Demises hatred when he was defeated)
Ganon is name of the monster form that Ganondorf assumes.
I always feel out of these things.
I don't like Zelda, but BOTW is my favorite game of all time.
I am 30 years old.
Fuck this gay earth, I don't want to be the snowflake.
Demise is the original demon.
Ganondorf is his reincarnation
Ganon is Ganondorfs alt appearance.
>Ganon
Beast form of Ganondorf, arguably the true version of evil past down through the ages. Has shown up as the main villain in most of the Zelda games.
>Demise
The original form of evil cursed to resurrect to forever oppose the resurrection of the Hylian godessess of wisdom and courage.
>Ganondorf
Literally just the human version of Ganon. Is always a male Gerudo, which only gets born once in a hundred years or so.
Ganon/Ganondorf are literally just the personification of evil that is cursed to oppose the Hylian goddesses resurecctions throughout the ages. Link is supposed to be the Hylian goddess of courage resurrected and Zelda is supposed to be the goddess of wisdom resurrected. If Link and Zelda exist, then that means Ganon/Ganondorf will be around in some form as well.
December 2021 I can see, I think.
I don't even know anymore.
dark = link
light = zelda
Doesn't even matter if the game is good. Just play what you have for now.
>Link is supposed to be the Hylian goddess of courage resurrected
what
The next game will be set in New Hyrule and it will be about Ganon returning, BotW introduces the master sword being able to degrade and rust so that they can bring Ganon back in the WW timeline
You're misunderstanding the point of the post to which you're replying by trying to demonstrate your pedantic knowledge. You're correct, the king of red lions and Jabun are unaware of the phenomenon, but what they confirm is that the Hero of Winds has
>no connection to the hero of time
as you said. It doesn't matter whether they thought it was going to be literally the Hero of Time reborn or just his reincarnated spirit. What they make clear is that the soul/essence/life force or what have you is a separate deal from whatever force is the deciding factor as to who is chosen to wield the Triforce of Courage as a hero. The Hero of Time has his own soul, the Hero of Winds has his own soul, the Hero of Twilight has his own soul, the Hero of the Wild has his own soul, and so on and so forth. They exist as discrete entities, even though each one has taken up the mantle of the Spirit of the Hero at some point.
I agree. The thing is, in every Nintendo Direct that MP4, B3, NMH3 or this new Zelda don't show up, I will be disapointed, even if I am having fun with other games.
Demise is the original baddie, who was so pissed after being defeated that he created a curse towards the reincarnations of Hylia (Zeldas) and the heroes of whatever (Links)
this curse translates as his hatred being repeatedly reincarnated as the demon Ganon over and over again
Ganondorf is Ganon's human form, or in other terms, is the human body that Ganon (Demise's curse) reincarnates as: a male Gerudo
none of this is known and for half of them you use vague terms like "possible"
>You're misunderstanding the point of the post to which you're replying by trying to demonstrate your pedantic knowledge. You're correct, the king of red lions and Jabun are unaware of the phenomenon, but what they confirm is that the Hero of Winds has
No they don't. Jabun asks if the KoRL brought him the hero of time and the KoRL just says he isn't connected, he only knows what he sees and all he sees is a larper, so of course he says he has no connection, they were so misinformed that they actually expected the hero of time himself to just pop up again like he did in ocarina of time. This line is proof of nothing especially when the spirit of the hero wasn't really a solidified concept this early, it's a nice fan theory but that's all it is.
>Ganondorf
>Is always a male Gerudo, which only gets born once in a hundred years or so.
This seems to be a common misconception unless I am misunderstanding your post. Yes the Gerudo race gives birth to a male every 100 years, but there is only ONE single Ganondorf. Period. Those other Gerudo males are just regular males, not aligned to any good or evil. As for Ganondorf, he's just one guy that keeps breaking free from the seal or getting resurrected.
>here's my fan theory
>nice fan theory, retard
The absolute state of autismos.
I didn't say any fan theories, literally just the lines from the game.
It seems you haven't played TP.
Who would you want voicing Dorf?
I trully want more of thrse threads.
Autism, but about the FUCKING GAME.
Not "tranny this tranny that".
Not "I want to lick Link's Midna right into the Fi!"
Not "Good morning he's in".
Amazing thread and talk, anons.
It's the same ganondorf
>Zelda not 100% confirmed but heavily hinted to be playable
I feel like I watched a different trailer from everyone else.
You did.
Literally the same Dorf as OoT. He's executed beyond Link came back with testimony with info that no one outside the royal family should be aware of.
its the same ganondorf. he tricks zant into releasing him from the six sages' seal.
Yeah same, the trailer literally shows what looks like Zelda being damselled yet somehow people got zelda being playable out of that
The hair cut is the big thing. Long hair is a bitch to animate so girl player characters usually only have it if it's static.
What do you think the deal is with the hands? Almost every shot in the trailer was of hands, so it seems like that's some kind of theme in the next game.
>>new gameplay elements, likely related to Link's arm
Wait, what’s up with Link’s arm? He looked normal in the trailer
man Nero's new dlc looking good
masturbation will be a heavily explored theme
The theory threads have been pretty good so far. My favourite has been the one a few days ago with the user doing info dumps on how the Sheikah and Twili (and Veran) are interconnected.
Or maybe the modelers just wanted to change her hair because she's their waifu.
BOTW2's entire philosophy is about how the director wants to keep masturbating to his Hyrule (the one in BOTW1)
see
Most likely we're going to get magic tied to Link's right arm that is going to replace the Sheikah Slate stuff.
Zelda community has had that special autism for a while now. After Nintendo endorsed a time line the autism confused itself because all the games could be connected but at the same time none of them could.
I want it to slowly corrupt him.
>Link is supposed to be the Hylian goddess of courage
So Link is a cute trap?
someone in a previous thread mentioned Dio's voice actor, Takehito Koyasu
for the english voice, someone else mentioned Kratos's voice, Christopher Judge
I'm loving the 'rehydrate Ganondorf' shit.
No all new map is definitely a disappointment desu
On the other hand being able to play a new Zelda sooner than later is nice.
>all the games could be connected but at the same time none of them could.
>none of them could
Why the fuck do people want playable Zelda? She's cool and all but Link is the hero, to stray from this would invite nothing but disaster to the series. Save that sort of fan service for a spinoff.
They've stated multiple times they give zero fucks about the timeline when making the games and where ever it fits works. The "It just works" approach.
Waifufags.
Then give us the correct timeline mr big brain
>Twilight Princels thinking Midna is coming back
>not realizing this game belongs to Skyward Sword chads
Fi's theme, the Demise allusions and the floating castle can't make it any more clear.
Then why did they publish an official timeline?
>Fi's theme
Where? The only thing I hear with the trailer theme is reversed is the Game Over tune from the first game.
and most of the games have are direct sequels of others and are directly contradicting their words.
>Then give us the correct timeline mr big brain
You don't even need to think all that hard about this. Oot, WW, PH, ST all follow a logical line. OoT and MM are a direct sequel. Alttp, Albw, and TH all follow a logical clear line. All of these have definite hard evidence within each game. You can arguably make cases against a lot of the others, but these specific 8 games cannot be argued to have "no connection" with each other.
Saying TP isn't connected to OoT is disgenious, saying AlttP and LA isn't connected is disgenious. Saying Zelda 1 and Zelda 2 aren't connected is disingenuous.
Most of the games are connected and the few that aren't are either very clearly implicated, or are made by Capcom.
Twilight Princess box art Link is still the fucking coolest looking Link. I wish this game was set several years later so that Link is in his mid to late 20s and looking more mature and experienced.
TP link was the last masculine Link.
Some of the earlier 2D Links were even more chad.
I wish they went with this design instead of beast Ganon.
MM was basically the same in terms of asset flipping and that wasn't even a full two years between games, let alone announcements. This could easily be 2020.
And there's a theory that, as offshoots of the Gerudo, Zant might be that Game's Gerudo male.
The other sages had characters named after them, after all. Impaz, Laruto. So I think it's quite likely that Midna's full name was Midnabooru.
Because it's Nintendo merchandising. You think the dev studio is looking behind the shoulders of the suits pushing toys and alt media? They probably aren't even in the same building.
Here's how you make BOTW2 better than the original:
>More cutscenes
>Dungeons, NOT shrines
>Dungeons revolve around an item obtained in it
>Old style Zelda items
>Weapons don't break or can be repaired: once obtained they stay in your inventory though
>Linear progression order, no complete the story or dungeons in what order you want thing anymore
>Traditional Zelda OST
>Tunic of the Wild can be used from the start of the game
>Shields don't break either
>Gotta start out basic for what is basically an entirely new play style of Zelda
Which is why I hated what they did with Ganon, among other things like all the sheikah tech shit where they replaced all dungeons and bosses with divine beasts and ganon blight bosses that were all too similar. But now they're making up for it in the sequel. While it was good, we can all see that botw was a tech demo, and Nintendo will not admit that, at least not until years later.
They released the damn thing to tie into SS but then Botw when and declared a time line merge after anyway. Aonuma does not give a shit about time line faggotry so I don't see why anyone else does.
>Zelda 18 (Breath of the Wild)
>actually seems unconnected to other (specific) games
BotW is post OoT. Lon Lon Ranch, Kakariko, and Hyrule Castle/Castle Town are all roughly in the same areas as the OoT map. LLR is the important one.
>Bearded Link with magic prosthetic arm
I will buy a switch if they let me play as Punished Link.
I hope they make every single enemy and miniboss from the legend of Zelda series into the game. I know thats asking for a lot but i really do think its possible
Castle town in on the starting mesa with the temple. Why is Hyrule castle so far away from the ruins of castle town?
I just hope for a final boss sword battle.
They can be hard, but the final bosses in BOTW was pretty disappointing. Got some weird mixture of the blights that was pretty easy and then just some lame pig that shoots lasers.
A complete step down gameplay wise.
Remove the Capcom games and ignore the discrepancy caused by WW and tell me exactly how this timeline doesn't make any sense to you logically?
I don't need every one but it'd definitely be nice to have like-likes, darknuts, iron knuckles, and wall/floormasters back.
I thought the blights were okay. They weren't super challenging, but the water one at least made me work to kill it. The final battle was a joke, though.
The style of TP Link was a product of its own era, as all of them are. Modern anime male designs seem to have softer features and are even somewhat androgynous thus producing BotW Link. That being said, I hope after BotW2 we can go back to something more like TP's style, or even SS.
>botw2 is taking some inspiration from rdr2 in its development
>Link develops the hylian equivalent to tuberculosis
>Take over as Zelda as Link becomes too sick and thin to continue
I remember that pic from long ago. That's the perfect Oot Link cosplay.
No it's not. It's right below Hyrule Castle on the map.
I think there might be dungeons. At least a flashed point in the video reminds me of the outside entrance of dungeons in the original NES Zelda.
Anouma was asking interviewers to ask him about playable Zelda so he could reply that he couldn't say anything. It's the most blatant hint in the world.
I hope you guys realize that it's never been confirmed we're getting the same map. In fact, seeing the castle rise up leads me to believe the game is either going to be set in a massive underground world beneath Hyrule, or the castle will ascend to another realm entirely.
>influenced by western shit
Already bad game
>More cutscenes
BotW had a lot of cutscenes though, they were just spread out or optional.
Zelda can do magic and there's no reason she couldn't pick up a sword, especially after cutting her hair to make herself combat ready.
Agreed. Wind Waker's was worse. It's harder to speed-run stealth shit. It's a miracle I put up with the Niko minigame and Forsaken Fortress to get to the good parts considering it was the first Zelda game that got me into the series and made me go back and finish Oot along with most of the rest of the games.
>speed-run
How OP would a Hylian-Twili hero be?
>I do not believe that thing being Ganondorf
Who the hell else would it be?
>I don't want to be Demise but I think it is.
Oh god, you're one of those. user, please, leave it to the Zelda experts. It's fucking Ganondorf, there is no doubt about it.
>when someone with some genetics close enough to the original Link is born he's guaranted to be another hero of the goddess despite being a separated individual
But then what about WW Link? Wasn't he supposed to be just some guy and not the reincarnation of the hero? Since the "real" Link was effectively removed from that timeline alltogether at the end of OoT?
This is him at Full Chad Mode.
Jesus, literally asking to remove everything that made BOTW good.
Fuck off retard.
Will wolf link come along again? Will I finally be able to fucking pet him and let him into my...our house?
boy, I'm so glad you're not in charge of the series
Well, the only real weakness Twili have is to sunlight, and the Hylian half should lessen/eliminate that. So you'd basically have a powerful, reality warping dark mage.
And if it were descended from Midna and TP Link, it'd probably be physically strong too. And not hideous like the common Twili.
Honestly only TP and BotW really care about the bloodline and reincarnation all that much, and BotW mostly uses it as a point of failure. It's just an excuse for there to always conveniently be a Link-ish figure when Hyrule needs a hero, WW played with that in a different direction.
>Wasn't he supposed to be just some guy and not the reincarnation of the hero?
No, he's the same as every other Link. What he isn't is the fully-trained, 20 hearts, fully equipped, Ganon-slayer that is the Hero of Time.
You might remember that the HoT disappearing is kind of a big deal in the WW world.
I really hope they let us pet the dogs this time.
Guess you don't like traditional Zelda game then.
>only real weakness Twili have is to sunlight
Midna was in the sun during the end of the game.
>OLD GUD! GUD!!
>there's no reason she couldn't pick up a sword
Yes there is. She is completely, absolutely untrained. Seeing her swing around a sword in a badass manner like Link is one of the most retarded things imaginable.
I can see that happening. Would be kino. Is Robbie still alive?
Because of Zelda. She was dying after Zant exposed her to direct light after you clear the Water Temple and Zelda sacrificed her soul (?) to heal her and allow her to exist in the light. Prior to that she had to hide in Link's shadow.
Guys... I'm losing the heart to finish ALTTP.
Fuck, I was hoping he would be playable. Is a ponytail easy enough? There are literal horse tails in the game.
I want more interactions in general
Yeah, I too can't wait to play Skyward Sword 2.0.
Faggot.
I always thought the game loses momentum right when you enter the Dark World. The Dark World dungeons are still good but I hate traveling around and seeing shit puke green grass everywhere.
>Because of Zelda.
Zelda was free from the control of the bad guys and in charge of her own body. Hell even Zant said something along the lines of Midna never getting her true powers back unless Ganondorf was taken down first.
What's the matter?
git gud
i preferred the palace of shadow, specially the tower of riddles area and bowser's castle from color splash had the best music
I'm at the Ice Temple, but I'm getting the urges of resting my file but having to backtrack to get all the hearts and powerups back is stopping me. But you are right about the Dark World's color schemes are pretty drab.
I'm low key hoping for a Twili connection just so I can see more fanart of these two interacting desu. Country bumpkin Link and Royal Knight Link interacting is wholesome af.
I just want the classic tunic to be early game. Pissed me off it was the reward for finishing all the shrines, because then there was nothing left to do.
And where is OP getting the notion classic dungeons are making a comeback?
Yes, for a lot of the concept art ideas they seem to be using them partially
>Art of modern day Link with a motorcycle turned into a sheikah tech motorcycle in the DLC
>Art of Link with an amputated hand with tools and weapons in its place looks similar to Link getting some glowy magical hand in the trailer
>Art of Ganondorf on a floating mountain turned into a floating Hyrule castle, presumably with Ganondorf in it
>There's all sorts of concept art about aliens, and maybe sheikah tech could have come from aliens, though this is a stretch.
>BotW 2 has the timelines get fucked so much characters from other games start reappearing
>TP Link shows up to rape Ganondorf once more and find his way back to Midna
wholesome
>he's a Zelda and Fi fag
>not a Midna Chad
OMEGA CRINGE
Hylian Girls Fuck Wolves
>More cutscenes
I wouldn't mind but its not important.
>Dungeons, NOT shrines
Sure, I don't believe they are doing shrines again.
>Dungeons revolve around an item obtained in it
Why? Dungeon should revolve around anything.
In BOTW, the only shrines I cared about where those that gave you clothes, I couldn't care less about more items.
>Old style Zelda items
BOTW had bow, sword, shield, bombs, and boomerang. No idea what other Zelda item is missing but to me that's all it needs.
>Weapons don't break or can be repaired: once obtained they stay in your inventory though
Hell no, are you retarded? The first thing I did in BOTW was maximize the weapon pouch. I still could not hold all these freaking weapons. Half the shrines I completed still had the chests there because I couldn't pick up the weapons thanks to the durability of the weapon being so fucking high.
Weapon needs to break more easily not less., and it should never be fucking repaired. What a waste of pouch space that would be.
The idea of the game is to pick and grab any weapon and fight with anything, not play like a weapon-waifufag..
Shields should break too, but the default shield should work like the master sword.
>Linear progression order, no complete the story or dungeons in what order you want thing anymore
I cannot believe there is someone out there actually asking for linearity in videogames. Holy shit.
I found BOTW's forced trip to Kakariko at the beginning of the game to be annoying as fuck. I had an entire world to explore yet I was told right away to go in X direction. so pissed off, I wanted to explore not walk through a path.
>Traditional Zelda OST
BOTW's battle themes were amazing. Everywhere else it was meh. Add "traditional Zelda OST" for non-battle music
>Tunic of the Wild
I fucking hated the tunic. It was ugly as fuck. It let you cheat by showing you the exact enemy health. You also couldn't paint it, the plain garbage tunic had more defense than a full armored Link. It was dumb
It's Japan, of course they liked the shittiest part.
I believe that shadow is Ganondorf right before he was "killed' too. What confuses me is why he has sharp nails, which he has never had before. Maybe it's to make him appear more wizardy this time? Agahnim had sharp nails.
The one item BotW2 needs is the hookshot. I get why it wasn't in the first game, but for a sequel that gameplay is begging for a hookshot.
OH MY GOD did you fucking read the article? That's not what happened at all.
>I'm low key hoping for a Twili connection just so I can see more fanart of these two interacting desu.
Playable TP Link in BotW would mean every weapon would instabreak. Fucker was strong as hell.
>How many times do we have to teach you this lesson old man!?
i'm going to have to ask you to stop
>BOTW had bow, sword, shield, bombs, and boomerang. No idea what other Zelda item is missing but to me that's all it needs.
In a game with a shitton of emphasis on movement and exploration of the overwolrd, the Hookshot, Pegasus Boots, and Roc's Cape would be good additions
The problem with BOTW is that there's nothing about it that will become a staple in future games in terms of characters and locations. For example, Beedle or The Lost Woods are classic Zelda concepts that are seen numerous times. But BOTW, while drawing inspiration from every other game, it simultaneously introduces very little new characters or locations.
I hope the map at least feels different enough from the first games. New towns/cities would be really nice.
>>new gameplay elements, likely related to Link's arm
so it's sekiro all over again
>Reuse same map
>Give it an Underground expansion with massive caves and buried ruins
>Hookshot is back for cave splunking.
Completely forgot about the hookshot.
Yeah it would be nice to have it.
Pegasus boots and iron boots would be cool too.
I can see Kass becoming a recurring character, or at least some variation of travelling bard.
Imagine being Ganondorf and seeing the kid who fucked your shit up and he's still young and angry while you're old and wrinkled.
Actually Twilight Princess was revealed just a year and a half after Wind Waker's release, and that's WW's Japanese release which was months before the other countries. But I don't disagree with you that it shouldn't take that long for it to release. I say 2020 holiday or possibly sooner. I'm actually surprised the teaser was pretty much entirely story related, and maybe i'm wrong or this is an exception, but Nintendo usually doesn't prioritize getting story done that early on.
>Why? Dungeon should revolve around anything.
I think you misunderstand. I meant have dungeons revolve around an item you obtain inside it, just like old games (Hover Boots primarily used in Shadow Temple etc)
>BOTW had bow, sword, shield, bombs, and boomerang. No idea what other Zelda item is missing but to me that's all it needs.
Hookshot for one.
>Hell no, are you retarded? The first thing I did in BOTW was maximize the weapon pouch. I still could not hold all these freaking weapons. Half the shrines I completed still had the chests there because I couldn't pick up the weapons thanks to the durability of the weapon being so fucking high.
I completely disagree. I barely used weapons because I didn't like the durability system.
>I cannot believe there is someone out there actually asking for linearity in videogames. Holy shit.
Linear story progression, not linear design. That way we can have a cohesive narrative.
>BOTW's battle themes were amazing. Everywhere else it was meh. Add "traditional Zelda OST" for non-battle music
The BOTW OST was alright and I did like it, but I'd like them to move on and give us a catchy, epic OST again. It worked with BOTW1 and we don't need it again.
I fucking hated the tunic. It was ugly as fuck. It let you cheat by showing you the exact enemy health. You also couldn't paint it, the plain garbage tunic had more defense than a full armored Link. It was dumb
I meant pic related, not the blue one.
To be fair, who the hell would have guessed that Beedle would be a staple of future games? Kass is just as likely to come back since he's a character with a strong mechanical hook.
I like it most when Zelda is the popular thing. The world just feels like such a nicer place. Thank goodness we are getting another one so soon. I think I really needed this.
I agree it introduces little. I was also quite sad when I found out I already discovered "all the content" it had to show, which was little more than what Child Link explored in the tutorial of Ocarina of time.
But I do and still feel like BOTW was a base game, they created everything we already know of, and now they expand the world.
Hylian girls ride red rockets.
There is linear story progression and a cohesive narrative in BotW though, it's just mostly tied to location. Each Divine Beast region has a linear story to go through, and Zelda's memories make a fairly straightforward arc once you have all of them for context.
Why is everyone so quick to assume the skeleton is Ganondorf? Aren't we overlooking someone a bit more obvious here?
Goddamn, why was it shown off so soon?
I hope we get more pronounced music this time. I want bombastic, adventure- inspiring music like Link to the Past again.
This would be VERY cool imo
Don't forget not having to pause the game to put on boots which is pretty huge.
What irked me was how they have a fantastically sized open world, yet the size of towns and villages are still the same as other games. Like Goron CITY should look like a goddamn city, not a handful of huts.
I just hope Zelda and Link share a kiss. I want something to warm my heart in these depressing times.
I'm really fucking pumped for BOTW2, it's gonna be sweet.
I think we'll see it next year, late next year early 2021.
Whaddya guys doing in the meantime to get your Zelda fix?
I'm playing CoH, really good.
Tho how the fuck do I get this heartpiece.
Fuck off shipfag, Link's is too good for Zelda.
>I completely disagree. I barely used weapons because I didn't like the durability system.
That makes no sense. How do you play then? throwing bombs like a wimp?
Why the fuck wouldn't you use weapons when you could walk 30 seconds and find another one? The game even has a built-in search feature to find weapons on the land.
I would mark on the map whenever I found a weird weapon that spawns on the ground.
Fuck off homo, shouldn't you be in an AIDS infested orgy right now?
Bombastic adventure inspiring music is great if you're not listening to it for hours on end, but BotW's overworld had tons of areas where ambient sounds and small music was much better at conveying the mood and content of the game. For a game with so little music, the sound design is super tight.
God I hope so, but excuse would they have for it to disappear when this game seems to take place very soon after botw?
The Groose is loose.
The backlash for WW's art style was pretty strong. Iirc, that's the reason TP went so far in the opposite direction.
They really need to incorporate more Links meeting other Links.
>I want to see her smile again
>That makes no sense. How do you play then? throwing bombs like a wimp?
I just ran.
>Why the fuck wouldn't you use weapons when you could walk 30 seconds and find another one? The game even has a built-in search feature to find weapons on the land.
Because I want to use specific weapons. I don't want to use crummy weapons that look shitty.
I wasn't pissed off at Goron city, but I was pretty mad at Zora's domains.
Their city was shit, they didn't even have houses. They lived like communists all together in a pool instead of a commieblock.
Gerudo City should be the staple for all settlements. The hylian villages were alright as well, they are meant to be villages and that's how they look.
Yeah. I know game limitations and all, but it seriously only felt like there were like 90 people alive.
>I just ran.
...
wow
>seething cause his waifu is a shit
The Japanese are fucking autists. Just say there is a romance or not instead of gay trash like that.
And I agree that the sound design was good, but that doesn't mean it couldn't also have been good with more present music. See Wind Waker or TP for example. It could change up based on location a lot, or play when riding horses, there's lots of diff ways it could work.
And there probably were 90 people alive.
Ganon has been ruling for 100 years. In 7 years, Ganondorf killed everyone as well in OoT.
Well there was that apocalypse that had happened only 100 years ago.
Stop using the world "heavily" when alot of the shit you're spouting is your own opinions only faggot. The theme playing in the trailer is the original zelda game over theme. A 1.5 second zoom into a ruin entrance is not a strong indication that classic style dungeons specifically are returning.
Dev team is not "heavily" influenced by RDR2.
Nowhere except in your delusional head is Zelda heavily hinted to be playable. You have no evidence shrines are gone or even divine beasts for that matter.
Shit thread, just like yesterday.
>The trend, if you could even call it one, started with MGS5
Are you kidding? It's as old as manga, fucking Dororo was the start of the trend.
Agreed. I've been thinking about nice it is that we've had 500 post threads daily about Zelda lore, but didn't want to jinx it by mentioning it. But you already mentioned it, so.
you are confusing the tunic of the wild (link's traditional outfit) with the champion's tunic. The tunic of the wild doesn't let you see enemy health but can be dyed
>this entire post
Different user, but what exactly is the problem with not engaging enemies when it involves using a system you don't enjoy? I also usually just ran away from enemies because I find the combat system to be particularly bad in BotW comparatively to the other Zelda games and wasn't engaged by it.
Well the Divine Beasts probably are gone since it's a new plot, but on the shrines yeah there's no reason their gameplay wouldn't be copied over.
>Anouma was asking interviewers to ask him about playable Zelda so he could reply that he couldn't say anything
Could I get a source on this?
Link isn't a resurrected goddess, he's a reincarnation of Hylias chosen Hero, and Zelda is the human form/reincarnation of the goddess Hylia though
>tfw hookshit is Link's magic hand
I want playable Ganondorf but I don't see that happening for another 10 years.
>combat system completely improved and felt like you were playing Dark Souls but on easy-mode
>unlike the clunky garbage combat system Zelda has had since its inception
>"particularly bad compared to other Zelda games"
Are you kidding me?
The only thing I would do to the combat is make it harder to bullet time the enemy to death.
>I want playable Ganondorf
For what purpose?
Spirit Tracks
I can't imagine being able to play Zelda and taking the kind of beating Link always gets in Zelda games, especially now with the physics engine. Most people would be disturbed seeing the cute princess Zelda set on fire and ragdoll down a mountain to her death. Explain how you can possibly see that happening.
*remove bullet time
Its too powerful. Or only make it activate on certain types of attacks.
Durability is shit.
BotW combat is pretty bad. It becomes really obvious after a couple dozen hours. There's no fun in fighting silver bokoblins as they pose absolutely no threat to you whatsoever once you have armor and food. What's worse is they take forever to kill, breaking multiple weapons in the process. Lynels are slightly more engaging but still just as easy once you figure them out.
Because he's fucking cool? How is that a question? Everyone playing him in Hyrule Warriors.
>a rational human being who is neither a blind waifufag nor crazy sjw
Finally.
Nah zelda’s dope, im not mad
Yeah, or give it a hidden cooldown.
He is cool but it would be retarded as fuck to see that in a mainline game. Keep the fanservice with fanservice games like Hyrule Warriors.
Yes, a billionaire game studio is cutting one of their greatest and most iconic character's main defining feature because they don't want to animate hair
You're blaming the combat system because of a design flaw in enemy health.
Use your brain retard. The guys in charge of making the MECHANICS of the combat are not the same guys that decided to bloat the HP of silver enemies.
Silver enemies were a mistake, everyone knows about it, hopefully the japs do as well. Silver enemies have nothing to do with the combat mechanics.
REMINDER
THIS IS HOW THIS BECOMES GOTY
I'd actually like to know this too. Zelda, I get. Ganondorf has never even proven he can do anything good... Oh. So you want a game were you play as the bad guy then? I can't see Nintendo making a game where you hurt Hylians.
>>combat system completely improved and felt like you were playing Dark Souls but on easy-mode
I highly disagree. What exactly did it improve upon? It backtracked from Skyward Swords directional imput combat, had less sword combat options than Twilight Princess, wasn't as flashy as Wind Wakers. What exactly does BotW do better? Flurry rush is a broken hot garbage mess and enemy sponginess is fucking inexcusable.
Critical hits, Throwing weapons, upping enemy damage, and a lot of the environmental things you can do are all great additions, but the framework of the system I find is severely lacking.
Lmao this is what made people fall in love with BoTW in the first place homie
kotaku.com
>“A lot of people have been asking that, and so I want to ask you, why do people think that?” Aonuma said when I asked him this morning during an E3 interview
>“Well it seems like it’d make sense, because at the end of Breath of the Wild she was freed, so now she can be a protagonist,” I said. “Also, I think people have wanted it for a long time.”
>“I see,” said Aonuma. Then he laughed. “But I can’t tell you.”
>“So why are you asking me that if you can’t tell me?” I said, also laughing. “I feel like if I’m going to answer, you should have to answer my question.”
>“Well you’ve been asking so many more questions, you know?” he said. “One question, I hope you’ll look past that.”
nintendoenthusiast.com
“It’s kind of interesting that you bring that up, because in Breath of the Wild, you see Zelda and Link together often too, so to go straight into the thought of co-op is very interesting to me.”
Probably referring to these interactions.
I would like playable Zelda but I don't think anybody expects playable Zelda to be just Link copy-pasted.
This sounded fantastic until I remembered how atrocious Zelda's voice is in botw.
Squidward Sword's directional combat input was clunky garbage and made the fights look like a dyslexic trying to move his arms.
This is a feel i never knew existed until you pointed it out. I love how passionate people are over this simplistic yet charming series.
>force segments of the game where you play as Zelda and all she does is use a couple spells and stealth around
No fucking thanks.
>>dev team is highly influenced by/currently playing Red Dead Redemption 2
That's not what they said
Multiple weapons with different attack styles was a great expansion on what Wind Waker did with enemy weapons. Twilight Princess was the only one with a hypothetically better combat system, but it had literally zero incentive to use that system so who fucking cared?
I agree with that on the motion based aspect, but when it comes to specific directions you need to hit from, that was a great concept that could have easily been worked upon without needing motion controls. We already had button inputs for specific sword strikes, and yet there isn't any real reason for those to exist because you never need to hit enemies in a specific way.
You weren't supposed to swing your entire fucking arm, just flick your wrist. If you had the proper set up it worked flawlessly.
If she engages in combat in any way I don't see how she won't be affected by harm the same way Link does.
Just give her a 1911 afterward. She'll be fine.
And the obvious
>Ganon WOKE
>Hyrule BROKE
Not saying it wouldn't be hard to implement playable Ganondorf into the story, such as who the hell he would be fighting, but playing as Ganondorf regardless of context is still something people would love.
Early cutscene: Ganondorf/magic ritual or whatever sends out a huge pulse across Hyrule that destroys all Sheikah technology probably except for the tablet unfortunately
I'm talking about Link
>dev team is highly influenced by/currently playing Red Dead Redemption 2
He just said the younger devs were playing it
Except now you can freely switch languages
Except no different weapon usage affects any way you play fundamentally. There are new weapons types, but they all are used exactly the same.
>but it had literally zero incentive to use that system so who fucking cared?
THe incentive is that combat is fun and engaging. I don't know about you, but I happen to find good combat gameplay fun to do, which is why I avoided doing it in Botw since I found it to be exceedingly tedious.
has anyone tried to recreate this angle in BotW? I want to know if the map in the trailer is any different. Like, I can't see any tower or shrine in this image.
The combat's not fun and engaging when the enemies don't get you any good use for all those techniques. Twilight Princess' sword combat might as well have been Devil May Cry in molasses.
>remove all games except Zelda 1 and 2 and then the timeline magically works
That how retarded you sound user.
>Fi's theme
Delusions
>Demise allusions
What?
>floating castle
Yes, just like Ganondorf's castle in Oot. Skyloft wasn't a castle.
>can't make it any more clear.
Yes, you can't make your bias for SS any more clear
I'm not a fucking speedrunning tranny, I just mean it's easier to speed through TP's beginning compared to WW's because stealth requires more patience.
Co-op is all but guaranteed considering that while BOTW was in development, Aonuma said the next major Zelda title would try to rethink these conventions. BOTW only focuses on one of these.
Dual audio was eventually added, just not at launch when everyone actually played it.
NintendoBlackCrisis did, supposedly theres a shrine in the image but the towers and divine beasts are indeed gone
I've always wanted to see a kinda sympathetic Ganondorf and Link fight a different evil ruler together because it was mutually beneficial. If the Zelda series was a more plot focused one, I think it could have been a cool idea.
He removed only 4 games that were made by Capcom, your exaggeration doesn't disprove him.
>The combat's not fun and engaging when the enemies don't get you any good use for all those techniques.
I agree, which is why it's incredibly frustrating that Nintendo keeps backtracking on any progress they make with the system.
No it isn't don't be a chucklefuck. If you paid any attention, I told you to remove the games developed by an entirely different company. How is that any way on par with what you are saying is an equivalent analogy?
>Nintendo doesn't care about the timeline, look at all these examples that don't fit nearly as well. Just disregard the fact that Nintendo didn't make them!
What would you even do underground. It'd be dark as shit and too linear. I don't know why you guys think they would abandon the 'go anywhere you like' aspect that the first game had in it's overworld for an underground cave system with less variety. If you can explore underground it'd be alongside the overworld for sure. You can't call it breath of the wild and not have a wild.
I really don't think it would work.
What kind of stupid youtuber started that shit with tp connection? People wake up, its have nothing to do with tp. 1) Ganondorf looks like sheikah monk mummy. 2) Demise also was stabbed in chest by Link and said things about hatred, so what if this happens again in other times, why it should be tp Ganondorf, why he not withered, why he actless for SO LONG, and Ganon were ressurected in four swords adventures. 3) Hand have nothing common with Minda's, there are not twilight particles in the scene, seal formed by gerudo letters, hand probably tied to sheikah/zonai.
POST BARA GANON PLS
>You can't call it breath of the wild and not have a wild.
You don't actually think it's gonna be called Breath of the Wild 2, do you?
>long hair on guys means tranny
You shut your whore mouth.
>regular brown skin
he's gonna be olive green as usual
Damage control for how many fans hated WW's style. The first reveal of TP looked like it was really early in development, albeit looking good. They basically just made a really gritty, realistic looking Zelda and it was nonstop medieval fantasy action.

SATIATE MY HUNGER

There's not gonna be a TP connection simply because it's not a sequel to TP, the games only reuse gimmicks when it's a direct sequel to another game
>WW, PH - ocean
>PH, ST - built around transport
>OoT, MM - time travel
>ALttP, ALbW - 2 worlds
>inb4 SS had 2 worlds and time travel
Only as little bits, not major gimmicks and/or themes
>Demise had a huge wide negro nose
>evil bell pepper nose negro is controlling and guiding the semitic man to commit acts of great evil
Man, they totally have that backwards
Please tell me where you are getting all of this my brother.
Even though I liked Skyward Sword, those were truly dark times. Controversial motion controls, it was 2011 and we were still getting a Zelda game on a console that was 3 gamecubes taped together, still sticking to the old 3D Zelda formula, and the sales were pretty bad for a game on a console that had a huge install base.
I'm just tired of ganon. there's already two good "this is ganondorf's end" stories made with twilight princess and wind waker, we don't need another "this time ganon is REALLY dead" bullshit with another long drawn out cutscene of him dying
give me a new villain or Majora. Or even Demise, so long as its not another Ganon story
Ganon will never die.
from a previous thread, mostly
DON'T EVER STOP BROTHER
>Everything we know
>not 100% confirmed
>likely related
>possibly more
>strong indication
More like everything you want to be true.
That's how I was with Ganon before BotW. I think I just didn't like the stories being so self referential, so I'm open to a story with Ganondorf if it's not just talking about how good OoT was. It doesn't even need to be a big subversion, Ganondorf as an immortal lich looks pretty fun on its own.
then I'm not buying this shit. I'm tired of japs rehashing all their villains. Dracula, bowser, wily, all this shit is the same as before so I might as well just go replay the game I already own than waste sixty bucks on a glorified remake
>In 7 years, Ganondorf killed everyone as well in OoT.
I'm pretty sure most of the NPCs relocated to Kakariko and such. And sure, maybe Ganondorf killed some people off-screen, but there's no evidence that he killed everyone. The redeads in castle town aren't literally people turned into zombies, they were created by magic.
Ganon/dorf is basically Demise, dude.Remember Zant, he were cool, until he became Kylo Ren for the sake of Ganondorf. One more reason why majora was kino - neat new main evill, not some lame wizard or overused G.
This is probably the closest to what he'll actually look like
majora should be the main villain again. make it some cosmic horror threat that's crashing the timelines together and requires ganondorf, zelda, and link to team up
I agree most of it is bullshit, except Ganondorf is pretty much guaranteed. But it doesn't matter, this thread is just a general Zelda/botw sequel discussion, it's good. The OP is irrelevant.
The music sounds nothing like Fi's theme.
>no shrines or towers
source
also they weren't too bad, I'd take them sprinkled in the world but also have dungeons.
just eliminate shit ones like the fight ones or make varied enemies
It's confirmed to be first zelda gameover theme backwards. Ideal pick, if you think about that,
>fujoshits
>constant sexualizing of genocidal monsters and serial killers
gay rights was a mistake
I Might have to bring this to 3D
Cool sword.
If it was Ganondorf from OoT, Zelda from WW, and Link from LoZ that would have made for the most excellent plot to Hyrule Warriors.
we NEED timeshift stones in this one. so much potential with that mechanic and so many opportunities all over the botw map
not to mention rehydration
Are you retarded or something? Sexy female villains get porn all the time.
You know what would fit even better? If all games get their own split timeline. Boom, all inconsistencies explained.
What are the chances that botw2 will look better than botw? Switch is slightly stronger than the Wii U, right?
Why? It served its purpose, it's done. Why does it need to be a Totally Not Ganon?
How would co-op Zelda work, Yea Forums?
>Zelda can't climb mountains by herself, but you can strap her to Link's back on a harness and he carries both of them.
>If you go too high, she'll start to panic and ask to be let down.
>If you jump up as you're climbing, she'll let out a scream and start to cry.
>If you suddenly drop and catch the wall again, she'll pee herself.
>When you get off the mountain, she'll refuse to speak to you and will just look down and gently sob.
>more cutscenes
I fucking hate zoomer
In the trash it goes
>new gameplay elements, likely related to Link's arm
Can't wait for Nintendies to act like Link getting a devil bringer is some groundbreaking mechanic that changes gaming forever.
Reminder that this game's subtitle is going to be "Breath of the Dying." Yes, like the runeword weapon in Diablo 2. The title references Ganondorf, who has been dying indefinitely yet is still breathing.
It actually already does, but difference is minimal. Maybe it be more toward to release.
I didn't even realize how many people liked Red Magnus' design until now.
Imagine beliving that dmc5 created special arm trope.
The timing is too generous as well as being too time-consuming and rewarding. I wish it was just a quick counterattack that did triple damage.
Name these inconsistencies. Outside of the WW discrepancy, any misshaps are so inconsequential that no one even thinks of them. Quit skirting around the issue and explain exactly how the timeline given forth doesn't make sense. Timelinefags may get unreasonably astute on minor bullshit that ultimately doesn't matter, but its a whole lot better than anti-fags that deny reality that a clear order of events exists in-game without needing the Historia
It'll look a little better but not by a whole lot, though aside from draw distance and fog BotW looked fine so whatever
majora is a mysterious horror from beyond space and time locked away inside a mask that spreads chaos and ruin for fun, ganon is just Big Dumb Bad Guy #1302
I don't remember Sekiro, MGS5, Bionic Commando and Metroid having 20 different unique movesets based around changing arms mid-combat.
Agreed, except more realistically proportioned. I think Ganondorf is going to be showing more skin this time based on his jewelry, waistcloth, and how the Gerudo voe armor is in Botw. I'm pretty sure this Ganondorf is going to have long sharp nail judging by the corpse and his shadow which was presumably showing the past.
i literally give zero shit about pixels and textures , just give me at least stable frame rates and bigger towns. Hell I'd be okay if everything was open world and cities and towns were hubs that we have to load into.
Brother, I don't condone kidnappings, tying sexy hunks to a basement and brainwashing them, BUT... Thank Gods such hunks don't exist.
Reminder that that generation’s ganondorf was also link.
I'm more concerned about how multiplayer co-op would work. It would have to be split-screen if it's local, and that's really demanding on the hardware. It would only work if each player had a console.
For one, where's the place of BoW, ALBW and Triforce Heroes in this timeline? Next, how do you explain of the geographical differences in almost every single game and (while minor) even in the games which are thought to be directly connected? Thirdly, there are tons and tons of differently designed elements that replace one another in each game but are somehow connected, the most apparent one being the different races. How do you explain this stuff away? Magic.
But above all I think when you're are at the point that you except a timeline split in three because of repetition/inconsequential you can't explain away this easily, there is no reason why there can't be a fourth, fifth or whatever timeline just so you can still say Nintendo cares about all this bullshit. They do what they want and they don't care, that's the end of it.
You can see the Gerudo crest on the corpse, of course it's Ganondorf.
Traditional (IE: Ocarina of Time styled) Zelda kinda fucking sucks. I always preferred the 2D Zeldas because they didn't follow that formula.
He literally didn't say that.
Interviewers asked him about this game being BotW's Majoras Mask, and he misunderstood the question and answered: "The trailer's pretty dark, but BotW's sequel is not related or inspired by MM."
>Sexy female villains
that's because they're hot
gays should die
Hey user don't wish death upon your father, it ain't nice.
if my father was gay I'd wish for his death yeah
user. If girls are the ones drawing sexy Ganondorf, who is male, then they aren't gay.
Nice glass ceiling you got there.
The dead monster had the same eyes as the moon from Majoras Mask
the ones in this thread fapping to bara ganondorf are gays, like you. fuck off and die
>You can't hit Zelda with your weapons, but you can still attack her to physically intimidate her. She'll fall to her knees trying to shield herself with her arms, begging you to stop. She'll also say things like, "You were supposed to protect me..." if you continue to do it.
>Like with Link, you can customize what Zelda wears. If you make her walk into towns with no clothing on, people will gawk and stare as she shifts about uncomfortably, completely red in the face, saying things like: "Please, Link. This is humiliating... Everyone is looking at me..."
>Link can flirt with certain female NPC's. If Zelda is nearby, she'll try to pretend that she hasn't noticed, but will start to tear up if you continue. Sometimes she'll try to interject to get Link's attention, but you're able to ignore her.
>Zelda is susceptible to temperature. Making her walk on hot surfaces with no footwear will cause her to hop about and yelp in pain and beg to be given shoes.
>Zelda has her own hunger meter, and is dependent on Link to give her food. If you withhold food from her, her stomach will start to audibly grumble and she'll start begging you for something. If she's hungry enough, you can feed her monster parts. Feeding her monster parts and Dubious Food can sometimes make her throw up.
>You can try and run away from Zelda, but she'll always return to you and greet you happily. After a few times, she'll start to realize you're doing it on purpose, and will come back hesitantly, and will start apologizing for her presence.
>Zelda will occasionally show you things she finds interesting: pictures that she's taken, books that she's read. The Whistle command is temporarily replaced with a Yawn command, which you can extend. She'll slowly start to trail off and look down at the floor and apologize for bothering you.
>dead monster
It's Ganondorf, you retard
This is just one of those "do mean things to your waifu" charts but in text
Die in impotent rage oversensitive cuck.
Just do Dragon's Dogma pawns but with Zelda
You should just accept your father's homosexuality. He's a fine piece of ass. No woman could break him in like I could.
Except it doesn't??
lol fag, choke on a dick. I bet you'd love that actually
Source?
Yes I would. Not yours though.
How did the Hylians get so much shorter between OoT and TP?
Thanks for ruining a good theory thread you stupid fucks.
That's fine, I don't want a fag sucking my dick. Now go choke to death on a dick, fag, and leave Zelda threads to non mentally ill people.
>Their kind ill likes swords
>Tis weak to fire arrows
>Seems all roads lead to Hyrule Castle
>Bokoblins hunt in packs!
Please no
The hair and golden bits are very similar. It's him, right?
I've said it once but I'll say it again:
>Aonuma stated that BotW was supposed to return to from back from from its LoZ1 days
>like BoTW, Loz's plot revolved around Link trying to save Hyrule's remaining population from Ganon in a post-apocalyptic setting.
>If BoTW followed LoZ1, then there's a chance that BotW2 will follow suit in its sequel with its story being similar to AoL's.
>Link's new journey begins when he sees the mark of the Triforce imprinted on his hand
>needs to find the Triforce of Courage so that he can form the full Triforce in order to save an eternally-sleeping Zelda
>Ganondorf being revived in BoTW2 coincides with Ganon's minions trying to revive him in AoL
>In AoL, it turned out that the whole narrative setup for Ganon's revival was nothing but a red herring
>instead the true final boss was Dark Link
So assuming it is inspired by AoL, just like how BotW was inspired by LoZ1, then I suspect the following:
>Ganondorf is a red herring villain, which is why they were willing to show him off so early
>the real villiain will turn out to be a variation of "Dark Link" - though this could mean anything from Link fighting a previously corrupted hero, to fighting the inner evil within himself
>Link going on quest to retrieve the Triforce of Courage via the mark on his hand might parallel the weird shit going on with his right arm in the trailer
>For one, where's the place of BoW, ALBW and Triforce Heroes in this timeline?
I will retract an earlier statment I made about TH since I rmebered it wrong, but ALBW is explicitly after AlttP, a game it explicitly calls attention to and has as a part of its plot. I agree that BotW and TH are outliers.
>Next, how do you explain of the geographical differences in almost every single game and (while minor) even in the games which are thought to be directly connected?
Easy because I don't deal in blanket terms where only one thing is correct. Does Nintendo care to an exact degree on how accurate it is to prior games models? No, and I don't pretend that is the case. But ignoring literally every plot point and narrative context just because the landscape is different is incredibly retarded.
>Thirdly, there are tons and tons of differently designed elements that replace one another in each game but are somehow connected, the most apparent one being the different races. How do you explain this stuff away? Magic.
You are going to have to explain further. Are you talking about their design across games, the Zora enemy to NPC change, or everything BotW does?
>But above all I think when you're are at the point that you except a timeline split in three because of repetition/inconsequential you can't explain away this easily
What are you talking about. A two-way split among timelines makes complete reasonable sense, and I have not pretended that the Downfall discrepancy doesn't exist. Like I said before, I think it makes more sense to explain Downfall as I did hereThis isn't a "they do or don't care" its a scale. Do they put thought into a timeline when making a game? Clearly they put some thought into it. Do they herald and cherish this as if its some holy rule that can't be broken? No and its silly to think that. But clear plot narratives you chose to ignore to say connections don't exist is silly.
OoT Link just had access to lots and lots of Lon Lon Milk.
I think it's an ATLA thing where he's able to converse with his past lives and benefit from their wisdom. Midna never acknowledges anything pertaining to the Hero's Shade, so I daresay it's supposed to be some kind of spiritually introspective thing for Link.
Someone that triggered over hunky guys has no place in telling who is mentally ill, maybe live and let live instead of wasting everyone's time with your retarded rambling.
>Read "temporarily replaced with a Yawn command, which you can extend. She'll slowly start to trail off and look down at the floor and apologize for bothering you."
I only just now realized what Ryan Gosling was trying to do to the cashier when I saw him in the supermarket the other day. What a dick.
>Most likely we're going to get magic tied to Link's right arm that is going to replace the Sheikah Slate stuff.
but Zelda keeps the shekah slate and its runes, and by talking to Zelda you can switch characters.
>lalalalal I'm gay I love cocks
okay cool, now talk about zelda botw 2 or fuck off
Man, imagine exploring BotW's world as Wolf Link
TP was such a waste of the concept
>Why the fuck do people want playable Zelda?
Because multiple playable characters is neat, and disregarding that one part of Wind Waker, I've only ever gotten from Majora's Mask. I want it again.
My biggest concern is how they're going to justify keeping Hyrule the same.
Why should I spend the time getting all the towers again if the world is the same? What's the point in that?
There are no towers or shrines in the scene with the castle floating up. either that scene takes place in the past, or in botw 2 those sheikah things dsappear for some reason
That doesn't solve anything.
The core of my question is why should I want to explore a hyrule I've already mapped? Why should I care about adventuring out into charted territory?
>That fucking look on his face
kek they should have connected his two torso pricings.
>Ever since I started making the first game in the series, I’ve been saying that the third Zelda will feature a party, one that consists of the protagonist, who’s a mix between an elf and a fighter, a magic user, and a girl. The fairy that appeared in Adventure of Link was actually a party member designed for Zelda 3.
>A girl who looked a little like a fairy and whose role consisted of reconnaissance. Like the characters in action games that don’t engage enemies in combat but rather go and scout out the surroundings and return to you safely. It’s also fun when action adventure games lets you choose who to send out. That’s the sort of thing I’m thinking I’d like to put in Zelda 3.
BotW was all about going back to the roots of Zelda and challenging established conventions. They're going to draw from the original Famicom version of Zelda III and feature a party system, like Miyamoto had always wanted.
this is the only truth in this thread
You fix it in the BOTW DLC. Trial of the Master Sword or whatever.
Because it won't be exactly the same? How the fuck are we supposed to know at this point
ALBW had almost the same map as ALLTP but it was also different. Maybe it will similar to that here.
Literally this. Something needs to change drastically about Hyrule to warrant running through it all again.
You really think they're spending all these years working on this game just to throw the exact same map at you with nothing changed? You should know better than this
>how the fuck are we supposed to know at this point
My first post just claimed what my biggest concern was. I said that. I said "my biggest concern is..." not "I DEMAND TO KNOW THE ANSWER TO THIS RIGHT NOW"
It's called making conversation you stupid nigger.
>Zelda
>Ever taking out a Lynel
Oh, how ADORABLE
She's got God magic, it's not out of the realm of possibility
pretty sure she loses her powers at the end of BOTW
