Few people are playing Mega Man now. Mostly, it's just about people complaining about older games or how the games aren't still being made. Despite the fact that most of them didn't bother supporting the games when they were out. I wonder how many people in these threads have even played MM11.
That's the other problem, as well. There's been one new game over the last several years, and in a series which not necessarily everybody enjoyed. Discussion over games that everybody has played to death isn't that interesting. So you have a lot of people who don't have anything to discuss in such threads.

Yeah, the flood the market strategy wasn't very smart. Also it just made the fanbases turn on one another with all the different series, when Legends 3 was still in development it was really common to see one subset taking potshots at the other all the time. When it was cancelled it only made things worse because people began throwing shit on each other's faces to try to race to the top of who was most miserable.
It was kinda like a trainwreck, if two trains hit one another, and then a bunch of zombies began coming out of the wreckage to munch on the gawking bystanders.
