GG is real, the Zoe quinn stuff was just there to "throw a dead cat on the table" so to speak and derail the IRL thread. Many games journos some "high profile" have been sacked for giving games lower reviews then they were "meant to" in the years following up to GG ie kain and lynch controversy. The opposite is true too, because games journos for the most part are manchildren and glorified shills that are very happy to get paid to sit around and badly play and write about vidya they are usually very positive about a hype new game when it comes out. But the amount of "indie game" shilling prior to GG was too much and led to a lot of nu age game devs like Phil fish arrogantly stomping about burning contracts which affected over people's livelihoods and releasing his game with a game breaking bug that he wouldn't patch because he had to pay for it cos fuck the people who bought his game.
