Not necessarily true. Dampé's shack replaced the camera shop from its original position, but nothing currently indicates it hasn't been put somewhere else or that the sidequest isn't in anyway and that the photo album has been moved to a more convenient to access place or your menu.

I just tried playing ALttP and got an hour or more in, got near the end of the first pendant dungeon and there was 3 eye knight things and I kept dying there
