It was such a sloppy cash-grab. They didn't care enough about the game to fix even some of the nasty bugs a whole year later. It was clearly done as a piggyback off N. Sane Trilogy's success with no love from the handlers. Hell, people say the 1st game was the best of the three in the remake but even then, it's still cheap and a carbon copy of the original.

I loved Spyro as akid, but I recently went back and replayed the first one and it just wasn't that fun. It kind of crushed me. At least the art direction is still god-tier.

lets be honest here, Crash and Spyro are franchise siblings, and Crash is the older brother, Spyro will get his shot.. after Crash

See: N. Sane Trilogy. They actually spiced up the remakes with some extra content. Relics, Coco being playable for most levels, the extra DLC levels for 1 and 3, and other stuff. Ignited Trilogy had none of that outside of fucking different models for dragons you rescue in 1. When you think about it, that's not really impressive since Insomniac Games did the exact same thing with the Spyro 3 and the dragon eggs (which were over twice as many as the dragons from the first game, mind you).

Gems becoming unobtainable, I think one of the dragon eggs glitched sometimes and registered as being "found" already and not adding to the total, poor controls for vehicle segments, I think there was an infinite death too. The last one I'm unsure of but the rest were documented.
