Your perk categories are: melee, athletics, assassination, cold blood, two-handed combat, rifles, handguns, shotguns, sniper rifles, blades and engineering. Your 6 stats are: strength, constitution, intelligence, reflexes, tech and cool. You start out with 20 points to distribute.
I'm leaning towards female V since I like the voice more. Gonna make her a stealth ninja hacker with good social skills. Gonna focus on blades, athletics, assassination, cold blood and sniper rifles. Maybe shotguns too. Gonna dump points in cool and reflexes mostly.
Going Netrunner even though hacking sounds way simpler than what I want it to be.

All we know about the techie is that one of the skill/perk trees lets you control a robot like the one from last year's demo. No idea how they'll integrate the nomad background into your dialog options. Maybe you have some extra insight about life outside the city, maybe you meet other nomads.
That's what the cool stat is for user. It's a mix of Charisma and your ability to keep your cool: how well you aim when things go to shit, your ability to stay calm in stressful situations etc. Also, your get extra speech options based on your cyberware and other stats. I think it feels more natural this way.

Apart from that I remember seeing mentioned: -mantis blades -cyber legs that have various options like stealth running, double jump, wall running, hover (at least that's what it sounded like) -what one dev referred to as "gorilla arms" that apparently give you a lot of strength and let you rip out heavy machine guns from their stationary positions, lift heavy objects and pry open doors among other things -some kind of arm canon

Yes, that's generally how it's done. These trailers are using contracted/outsourced to 3D animation studios that work side by side with the in game assets. The teaser from 2013 and the cinematic from this most recent E3 were all done with film grade high poly models, environments, and ray trace lighting. This is how 3D film production works, which is completely different from real time rendering. None of the assets in either teaser are literal in game assets. Game model sculpts usually start out as super high poly models in sculpting software like zbrush, and are scaled down and given a texture UV (based from the former high poly) that gives the illusion of depth and shadow in places that are technically flat. None of the assets or environments in this cinematic were rendered in real time nor are they meant to. They're not built for real time rendering. The assets are not the same. The level of detail in that city skyline does likely does not look anything like what it will in the final game. That is the point of pre rendered trailers. They do not share assets.

Agreed. It might take a lot of work, but actually showing damage on the model would save the sponges quite a bit. It might be difficult to implement properly, but I'd even be content with an aproximate damage indication (generic damage marks to certain body parts rather than precise marks like scratches or holes in the pixel perfect areas). Also if enemies start to pant or limp or hold their side once they took enough damage, that'd help.
What do you guys plan on making your V look like? Any specific look you plan on going for, perhaps a picture you'rr going to use as a reference during character creation? I'm probably going to use the default femV and pretty it up a bit.
I usually just make a chad looking male in games with character creators, no references.

Face wise I have no idea to be honest. I'll have to experiment a bit with the creator. I'm one of those people that can spend hours just dicking around with character creators if they offer a lot of options to see what cool charaters I can make but also horrid monstrosities (I still remember the nightmare fuel elf I made in DAI).

I always considered post-cyberpunk a more morally grey iteration of what is effectively the same premise, with a greater focus on the amoral effects of improving technologies. But what 'cyberpunk' is is argued by everyone nowadays though, so ignore what I say if you don't like it I guess.
Section 9 are a black ops agency working to protect a Japanese government that is nominally as corrupt and underhanded as modern Japan. It's not as in-your-face evil corporation as Cyberpunk 2020/77, Bladerunner or Neuromancer. There are pretty blatant breaches in human rights, privacy and civil process, but a lot of those are explored in a nuanced way, rather than just serving to say 'authority is bad and we're the punks that fight against that'. And like I said before, the setting is more of a context closer to our own world that allows the show to better focus on the impact of technology, rather than punk justice/revolution. It all depends on how you consider the role of 'authority' (government or corporate) into what makes cyberpunk cyberpunk.
I want to do a corp-affiliated volcel, go as "pure" as possible and avoid augmentations and degeneracy. Spec heavy into firearms and maybe stealth. The second one I want to do a melee focused psycho with as many augmentations as possible, strategically want to do this one second so that I can sort of metagame some decisions with augments and stuff, since I imagine there will be some things that I won't know until autists catalog every detail of the game. Third one would be corpo affiliated netrunner, spec into hacking, stealth, and diplomacy.

2077 isn't doing a strict class system like the games. Pondsmith said in an interview the only reason he did a class system was because at the time no one knew what cyberpunk character archetypes were so he had to give players an Idea of what they were supposed to be doing.
Now that everyone and their dog knows what a Hackerman is etc, they can trust the player with a looser pointbuy system.
