I feel like Tyranny is pretty widely liked, Pillars really lacks good writing though and combat is sloggy as fuck.

Constant pausing kills combat Pillars IMHO, unlike the KOTORs where 90% of battles you just let play out after maybe issuing a Flurry or lightening order. Neither combat is particularly great but KOTOR's at least moves quickly.

Among Obsidian games, I personally enjoyed Alpha Protocol the most. There were some issues with it, sure, but it was a fun game that did some interesting things. I like how you CAN actually kill that one bad guy that normally escapes and lives up until the final level, by fulfilling certain conditions that can make him lose his cool - and that way that one scientist dude you can convince to work with you can team up with under certain conditions doesn't get killed by the museum guy as well. I escpacially like the "evil" ending:

"Sorry final boss, I promised to work for you, but I realized that I got so many allies that I can make my own mega corporation now, sux to be u, thx bye."

I have not seen a single kind word about Tyranny on Yea Forums that I didn't write myself and it's not like you ever get a thread on it that doesn't get shat on immediately
The combat in Pillars 1 is servicable, though I can only speak for normal difficulty
In 2 I played as a summoning focused chanter so I didn't really get much out of it besides watching my goons go to town, that part is a lot of fun though (in any game for that matter)

Tyranny has one of the greatest spell systems in video games that I've seen and I wish more games would offer the amount of customization available there

In the book, Revan, both the Exile and Revan teamed up with Lord Scourge to assassinate the Emperor, but during the Fight, Scourge had a mega Force Vision and realized that while Revan, the Exile (who is a female named Meetra Surik btw), and Scourge might win, there is a definite future ahead where the future Jedi Knight in the Jedi Knight storyline of TOR WILL defeat the Emperor, so Scourge betrays Revan and the Exile so that the Emperor will be defeated for sure later. The Exile dies but stays as a Force Ghost to support Revan, T3-M4 gets destroyed by the Emperor, Scourge becomes the Emperor's Wrath and immortal, while Revan gets captured for like 300 years.

Kylo Ren has stronger potential than Anakin had.

While Revan is captured, the Emperor is invading his mind to try and get Revan's information on the Republic, Jedi, etc, and to break him, but Revan uses this connection to invade the Emperor's mind, and subtly convinces him to not attack for like 300+ years until the Emperor finally goes through with it. Due to Revan's influence, the Emperor also chooses to not raze Coruscant like originally planned, which pisses off Darth Malgus to no end and sets Malgus on the path of a wannabe Emperor. During this time, the Jedi Exile tries to help Revan, and eventually during TOR on Pub Side, contacts some Jedi and causes a strike team to be formed to rescue Revan. Revan gets rescued by the Pub team, while on the Imperial Side in a mission called The Foundary, Revan uses The Foundary to try and make an army to destroy the Emperor and the Sith Empire, but both he and HK-47 are killed by the Imperial strike team. Fast forward later to the Shadow of Revan expansion, Revan did die, but got split because half of him was still LS, but the other half got corrupted to DS by the Emperor mind raping him for several hundred years. The DS half posses his dead body, while the LS half pushes the player character to get support and unite the Sith Empire and the Republic in order to stop DS Revan's half-baked scheme to give the Sith Emperor a body or some shit to truly kill him. Ultimately, the player character and the united factions defeat Revan, his two sides combine to remake Revan, and Revan peaces out. Unfortuantely, the Sith Emperor gets a huge laugh and fucks off, which leads to the Eternal Expansions.

its been about 4 years since i've played kotor 2 but to support vaklu you basically just need to voice support for vaklu during various conversations and help that one lady have the 3 guard captains replaced. when the soliders attack you during the meeting with kavar int he cantina you'll get to talk to colonel tobin where you can choose to side with vaklu.

It was essentially a coin flip on whether or not they would win the fight, but if they lost, the ENTIRE galaxy was fucked and no one would survive, so rather than risk losing the entire galaxy, Scourage just said, "fuck it!" and decided to go with the 100% will work option, which of course, ends up working. Scourage even becomes a companion of the Jedi Knight who goes on to kill the Sith Emperor.

You have to talk to him and fully unlock all his dialog to help contribute to the bigger picture of the overall game and what's happening in the galaxy at the time. He's very important for Nar Shadaa and end-game. Otherwise, he's fuckin' useless.

On one walkthrough i had tons of dex but still used armor, tried hard fights with armor and robes.
With energy resistance upgrades and spells i would be hit for single digits. Basically, i didn't give a fuck.
With robes enemies would miss again and again until they all hit and i'm almost dead.

Kotor 1's not that bad unless you mean as a Steam port then yeah it sucks miles of cock. It's easier to get into, with fewer mechanics and fixed loot drops making planning more viable. The story, while arguably smaller in scope, is more readily apparent and doesn't require multiple playthroughs to fully understand. The characters being flatter and less flexible isn't great but it's understandable considering how they had to set up the twist that the entire game is predicated on.

On top of all that, it's still pretty fun.

hanharr is a beast who easily pushes 40 strength with no exploits at the end game.
i accept the quest for waifus though.

you get an ability that adds your dexterity bonus to your defence and attack, and armour has heavy or total penalties to your maximum dex bonus
damage comes largely from your lightsabre crystals than your actual strength stat too
plus, force powers. master speed + flurry and you hit like 6 times in a single combat round

No support for higher resolutions, no workshop, no achievements, and it's got some pretty bad bugs unique to the port, like having to switch control between different party members after every combat so you can find the one who's controls aren't locked up.
