I'm in mood for a good RPG and there's sale on GoG

Help me decide Yea Forums between:

Dragon Age: Origins,

Planescape: Torment,

Dragons Dogma (although I don't really think it's and rpg aside from character progression?)

Vampire:The Masquerade

I think I'm leaning towards VTMB, but I've not decided yet

Ultima 7

If you haven't played PS:T it should be your #1 priority.

VTMB is a good choice.
You can't not play Planescape: Torment though but you need to know what you're getting into and be ok with it.

skyrim

All of them except Dragons Dogma.

tons of reading with kinda shitty combat?

Dogma for gameplay + Story

Planescape for Story + Tiefling ass

Yes. Get hyped for it too cause it’s awesome.

If you wanna make the best of the combat, go for a magic build. Though anything can work.

This but play PS:T first. DD will cleanse your palate of the garbage gameplay.

that's kinda what I'm looking for

How's enhanced edition? I know Baldur's Gate:EE had some strange additions

Enchanced torment works fine, no SJW stuff there. Just don't get the other ones.

>kinda shitty combat
It's just the same as the combat in BG1/2, how anybody says they have great combat while saying PST has shit combat is beyond me.

>Dragon Age: Origins
Decently good, if a bit dumbed down rpg. Too easy without mods.
>Planescape: Torment
Evn with rpg elements. The writing is mostly good.
>Dragons Dogma
More of an action than rpg, but it's fun.
>Vampire:The Masquerade
Good if you like the setting.

planescape is not an RPG

play all of these in no particular order
V:TM (cool as fuck fps rpg, with good graphics and greattt atmos)

PS:T (best book ever, also best RPG story ever, most mature game story you'll ever play, sadly) Prepare to read a shitload though. That really updated your journal.

DD:DA (best fighting system of action RPG ever, great feeles, terrible RPG mechanics, install running mod, and MASTERWORKS ALL YOU CANT GO WRONG)

DA: is shit, sorry. only fun thing is that you can butcher some gay ass elves, but you grow bored of the game long before that.

Why's that? I've been meaning to find a good RPG to play and remember hearing good things but nothing specific.

U'll be wrecked by guilt before game ends.

If you're new to party based western RPGs, Dragon Age: Origins, if you already have a couple under your belt and like reading Planescape, Vampire if you want something fresh and don't mind jank.

it's a game that has a meaningful narrative and intelligenty counters the luddonarrative dissonance that most games have. Just play it, dont read about it.

correction:
*most games should read as: literally every other game I've played.

What are you looking for specifically?
>reading
>tactical battles
>character building
>exploration
>party based, or solo?

gog version is clean with last update. it works very well dude.

Planescape: Torment

updated my journal

PS:T > VtMB > DA:O (both Baldur's Gate games are better, but DA:O is still very good) > DD
