I've played 3, 4, 5, 7, 8 and 11. Should I play 1 or 6 next?

I only played 4/5/6 on the DS. 4 was okay, 5 was amazing (probably one of the best things I've ever played), and dropped 6 in the first few hours (I feel like beating 5 set my expectations way too high and 6 just doesnt get interesting fast enough). Is 9 on the DS good? Do 7 and 8 for the 3DS come close or are better than 5?

It's a little too late for you to play I&II since you already played III. You can finish the Zenithia Trilogy with VI.

7 is pretty good, but it's a fucking commitment (100+ hours)
8 is one of the most loved ones on the west, it's grphically worse than the ps2 version but it has a lot of QOL stuff
both of them are included in the torrent uncensored

That's why people shouldn't play 5 so soon, it's one of the best DQ (if not the best).
Go for 8 are start the Roto games with I, II, III.
If you didn't like VI, you probably won't like VII.

Waiting for the Switch version of DQ11. DQ lends itself very well to mobile play in my opinion. Had to stay strong through several Steam sales though. The game looks super great, I just hope they don't botch the Switch release on a technical level or I would have waited for nothing.

If you can handle old, janky NES games and have a ton of free time, playing it in release order is fun. If not, the recommended condensed experience is III, V and VIII, and then the rest afterwards like IV and VII and IX if you want more.

I'm not a big fan of Dragon Quest, only recently started playing through the series, but isn't Erdrick the poster child of the series? Every time I see a Dragon Quest reference, it's Erdrick's outfit.

It's a really great game and I'm not even salt that I bought it a week before S was announced, so much so that I will probably buy it again for the extra content. She was so cute. The DS trilogy was what I started the series with, and I don't remember much, but I enjoyed 6 the most. Especially the ending, it was the most emotional for me. 5 was great as well, it took a lot of turns I wasn't expecting, but it was more of a closed book, whereas 6 leaves you hoping.

It's possible to restore Party Chat to DQIV on DS.

Basically, the mobile version of the game uses the same file formats as the DS game (because Square are lazy cunts), and the Japanese DS game has party chat enabled. This means you can essentially copy and paste the English Party Chat script from the android release into the Japanese version of the DS game, and then you could use the script from the English DQIV DS for the rest of the game. There's some minor issues such as text overflowing due to the text formatting being a little different in the mobile game, but I'm sure this could be resolved.

I've tried building Tinke to try it out myself, but it seems that it hates windows 10 and the exe won't run.
