>"In Transcenders Media’s recently-released BDSM visual novel Knife Sisters, available on Steam and itch.io, the player-character—a non-binary person called Leo—lives in a vegan commune with a bunch of stoners, witches, and flakes. It’s possibly the most accurate simulation of a certain subset of millennials I’ve seen in games. Everyone is some combination of polyamorous, sexually adventurous, risk-taking, and involved in community. It’s actually quite touching to see so many mid-twenties characters who are open to exploration and self-discovery, even if it’s not a lifestyle that totally appeals to me."
>"Leo decides how they feel about the world, but you, the player, decide how they interact with it. Yes, Leo is scared, that much is clear; but whether or not they do something despite their fear is up to you. Sometimes, in a chosen relationship, Leo takes the lead. Other times, they play the submissive role. It’s interesting to get to role-play both sides, to see both aspects of this pre-defined character. Will you be the sweet, loving dominatrix? Or the rough, possessive kind? Will you give your partner what she needs, or take what you want?"
Are choices for you important in vidya, Yea Forums? Do you tell your character to do immoral actions?
Looks faggy like gone home. Fuck you for even telling me this exists you faggot OP. Go sick a non binary dick you aids infected homo
James Garcia
>Leo decides how they feel about the world, but you, the player, decide how they interact with it. Yes, Leo is scared, that much is clear; but whether or not they do something despite their fear is up to you.
I swear this could only have been written by someone who has much less of an idea about games than they think they do. This is not a new concept. This isn't even remotely new, this has always fucking existed. Every fucking time you've had a character in a game express an emotion about something, eg. "That cave looks scary", and you do the thing anyway because you're in control, it's the same fucking thing.
Jesus fucking christ, I know this is such a stupid thing and I shouldn't get mad over this, but acting like a concept that has always been around is somehow new and revolutionary because something you like is doing it, is some peak pretentious brainlet shit. Goddammit.
Oliver Hill
So is this supposed to be Undertale or is it worse?
Jackson Lewis
>Leo decides how they feel about the world, but you, the player, decide how they interact with it.
But this isn't even a new thing. Fucking text adventure games in the 70s did this shit.
Sebastian Miller
oh look another western female character that is as attractive as horse's dirty asshole
>What does a POLICE-FREE world look like? Like gangs killing and pillaging?
William Barnes
>a non-binary person called Leo >Will you give your partner what she needs Wow, this article is bigoted. They establish at the very start Leo is non-binary and then have the gall to call Leo a "she". That's not very progressive of Kate Gray.
Ian Davis
so anons' dream world?

This would only work if humans werent humans. There will always be someone looking to fuck you over, exploit, hurt or anythinging inbetween just because they felt like it.
Chase Lopez
Imagine if in SH2 James would scream "No! I don't want to jump down the hole!", and yet he jumps. That would just be extremely lame.
Jaxon Howard
>the player-character—a non-binary person called Leo—lives in a vegan commune with a bunch of stoners, witches, and flakes. It’s possibly the most accurate simulation of a certain subset of millennials I’ve seen in games why the fuck did this need a game?
>Police free world >We protect each other And then inevitably, some people are bad at protecting others and some people excel at it. So eventually we organize those who excel more effectively to protect us, and we have to pay them so they can dedicate all their time to it. Sounds good to me.
Jason Russell
The funny thing about this "abolish the police" faggotry, is that it probably could work. As long as its in a very low population, racially homogeneous community where only men have the right to bear arms and form a militia.
David Ross
>game It's a visual novel at best. There is no win condition built into the story, you lose no matter the outcome.
Kevin Jackson
Is this what private security guards will look like in the future?
Juan Gomez
>"What does a police free world look like?" >No white men
lol

>[work of fiction] Explores Stopped reading right there.

This, it’s all fun and games until a gang hopes your fence and starts raping and pillaging.
Juan Parker
It's art. Why do paintings exist? Most people on this board engage with their video games like a toy, but it's just another medium that can explore ideas like any other. People get caught up on whether it mechanically counts as a game or not, but that's just a historical quirk of nomenclature, so forget the name of the medium. There's room in this world for interactive art pieces that explore the realities that people do live, whether you approve of them or not.
I was about to say "why do these people always LOOK insane" but then I realized, its becaues they actually are insane. Seriously, who looks like that and thinks that is a good look.
Charles Walker
>it's art I hope you bring that same energy when ***gamers*** call for the censorship of subjects they don't like.
I see what these games are trying to do. They are trying to teach gamers how they are supposed to socialize with women. Little did they know that's not why men play videogames.
William Williams
How about we kill feminists?
James Cruz
What do they even do?
Jackson Green
They're trying to fit in with a counterculture not realizing that punk as a culture died out 40 years ago so now they're just rebelling by becoming an odd mix of 1960's hippies and 1970's punk.
Adrian Kelly
The people who believe that also fall for the communism meme because they're too dumb to be aware of and account for the factor human in their utopian daydreams.
Jordan Edwards
>People get caught up on whether it mechanically counts as a game or not, but that's just a historical quirk of nomenclature, >Hey, if you ignore everything which makes it a video game, you can call it art.
Post-modernism was a fucking mistake.
Connor Rogers
>the player-character—a non-binary person called Leo—lives in a vegan commune with a bunch of stoners, witches, and flakes.-Everyone is some combination of polyamorous, sexually adventurous, risk-taking, and involved in community. This feels like something /pol/ would write as a joke.
now >neighbor being loud as shit at 3am >calmly ask them to turn down their music >tell me to fuck off >tell them i'm going to call the cops if they don't >"whoa buddy, just be cool. we'll turn it down, no need to get johnny law involved"
police removed >neighbors loud >politely ask if they could turn it down >"lol get fucked. my house, my rules" >tell him I need to work tomorrow >slams door in my face and turns music back up >slash his tires and go back home >next day he's banging on my door telling me he's going to kill me >open door holding chrome eagle >"dude.. DUDE.. wtf? you slash my tires and now you pull a gun on me?? fuck you, dude." >later that night brick slams through my living room window >grab gun and charge outside >he's there with a couple of his friends who are also armed >get into yellow match >other neighbor shows up and ask if we could be quiet >now more people are involved >suddenly one of his friends shoots and I return fire >all of us are now dead because we tried to handle the situation ourselves
Imagine having the budget and the means to make a compelling game with nice plot/setting etc., but you're so sheltered inside your commiefornian ass that you decide to make a game about "consent", set in a shitty vegan commie hippie communion.
Luis Johnson

Yeah, but at least you werent racist right?

There are too many buzzwords. I can't read this.
Jordan Cox
>Are choices for you important in vidya, Yea Forums? Sometimes, depends on the game >Do you tell your character to do immoral actions? I generally play good characters, because I don't really like seeing people suffer. I started playing some western porn game a week ago, and was really enjoying it until I got to a scene where the main character glues a woman in place, puts on his Jason mask and starts raping her. I just don't like that shit. A little comeuppance is fine, but not when it's to somebody who did no wrong. Whisper in Fable deserved getting killed, but you don't just go around killing random people.
Dominic Gray
He cut out all the slurs that were throw during the gunfight to keep his post short
So want guns banned, and then to ban the police force too? What else, ban the military so we can defend each other by shooting rainbow heart beams from our chests?
Jacob Sanchez
But can you jerk it to xir getting a carrot stuffed up their ass by the local vegetable witch which they scream 'thank you Xer more please XER'. As a radical act of transcendental healing?
Tyler Robinson
