Just look at Pokemon animations from 21 years ago.
youtube.com/watch?v=Vpd47lTOjW0

Pokemon is literally for children and casuals/normalfags who don't have standards.

they would need to rig and animate a hundred different moves for almost a thousand different Pokemon. Do you really think they have the time and manpower to do all that?

BUT BUT, THERE WAS ONLY 151

There are 800 digimon.

The wiki says that there are only 240 in Cyber Sleuth

yes actually, they do.

That's a lot of frames for a gif

They have the time, they have the resources to purchase the manpower, not to mention access to some of the best console developers on the planet by being based in Japan. The real question is if they are too greedy, or too proud to admit they need some outside help.

Pikachu hasn't been on the cover since Yellow in 1998, what retard made this?

>Digimon fans can't make a thread to talk about Digimon without attacking pokemon

Attached: 288581.jpg (267x350, 13K)

How do you think you become an 90 billion dollar franchise?

The scale of Pokemon games is absurdly larger than Digimon Cyber Sleuth.

UltraSun and UltraMoon have more Pokemon that exist in the game solely to support transferal from previous games than Cyber Sleuth Hacker's Memory has in its entire Field Guide.

That gif is also extremely disingenuous as you're comparing a signature move only one thing can learn to a generic move that several things can learn. Each Digimon overall has less unique animations than each Pokemon too.

t. someone who actually played the Cyber Sleuth games. Great games, but if anything, they're just further proof that these kinds of games need to heavily reuse assets or they can't get to a significant scale. Hacker's Memory is 95% the exact same content as the first Cyber Sleuth outside of the story characters/writing.

It would be a lot of work, but it wouldn't be a lot of hard work. It isn't as if there are that many attacks requiring cutscene level animations, double kick for example would be a very simple animation to do, applying it to every Pokemon that can use the ability would be time consuming for sure, but not difficult. Like when they decided to make HD 3D models to reuse for future games they just need to bite the bullet and do it for attacks. Hell even do it bit by bit, that would have softened the blow if they had said that's why we're not getting the full roster.

That's not a Digimon fan, that's a Pokemon fan who is salty at GF for the recent news and are trying to call them lazy. Go check /vp/.

The power of ditching your National Dex

No, they don't. We don't live in a world with infinite manpower and development time. Something's got to give eventually.

yeah they dont
because they have like 150 people despite being a 90 billion dollar franchise

they could easily hire a few thousand more people, but that would make their profits fall by 0.1% and we cant have that

If only Digimon had better designs as well

Look even just animate the galar DeX properly and then add the rest with basic animations at least. Cant believe gamefreak sometimes.

the world was so tired of Jew shit they were willing to take any alternative

>All those big tough looking pokemon doing fucking drop kicks
>Then fucking Snorlax does one too

Attached: 1556963098199.gif (290x189, 1.04M)

No national dex in Sword and Shield, animating a few hundred should be easy

Cutting pokemon would be OK if they added animations like that, like start over with 151(maybe up to 300) with new animations for every move/pokemon. Then re-use them for the next game, while adding more pokemon.

Why is it that only Pokebabs make excuses for this kind of shit? Yo-kai Watch 3 (A 3DS game) had something like 600 available Yo-kai in the game, all of which were playable through an entire action-lite sub-game and had Yo-kai specific animations and whatnot. Meanwhile apparently Game Freak creating a basic kicking animation is simply asking too much.

>Kabutops animation even makes a TING sound
holy shit

>they could easily hire a few thousand more people
Never develop a game holy fucking shit.

Congratulations, you've figured out that Digimon has always been better than Pokemon. Bandai just sucks at marketing.

>retard doesn't get it

you are dumb as fuck.

>That extravagant attack animation
>All that happens to the enemy is a number appearing above their head before dying

Both examples are shit.

So, I just watched Detective pikachu with a woman and I came to a conclusion, they only care about cute Pokemon, she kept looking for Azumarril, and saying how cute bulbasaur, squirtle and charmander were, she dislikes pikachu for some reason, and that anime is the only source for Pokemon to normalfags.

Now, why the fuck Gamefreak hasn't made an adventure game that resembles the adventures of the anime? I mean, besides being stupidly greedy.

this but unironically
also half of these are literally the same as the scorbunny but with white orbs flying at the enemy

Gamefreak understand that overly long animations aren't a good thing for pacing RPG combat

Sure that must be the reason...stupid apologist.

and yet double kick takes fucking long

pokemon is the bottom of the barrel 'game' for absolute low functioning autists and 5 year old chidren
/vp/ is proof of that

>tfw jynx will never mega kick you

literally everyone I know who "likes" pokemon also plays "games" like
borderlands
asscreed
skyrim
fallout 3 or 4
or other typical normie trash.

basically pokemon is the western game of the east

>furfags are terrible people
Of course

Yeah its indeed way too much work to pull that off if you ignore the fact that games was in development for almost FIVE FUCKING YEARS.

Ofcourse, Japanese is corporate slave works +80 hours per week

Everyone who says Pokemon's scale is too big is a massive retard who apparently doesn't realize Pokemon is THE game (alongside Mario) That sells the most on every single Nintendo Portable - and that their portables VASTLY outsell their homeconsoles. They've made multi-billions in profit.

Even if they contracted a temporary team of 300 animators for half a year to make everything look decent (not even good, just decent and not like absolute trash in its current state) they'd probably only lose 3% of the total renevue.
More importantly they still have shit-tier programmers and a shit engine. They didn't bother to have a new fresh start now that they're out of 3DS, nope, just be as lazy as possible and upscale a game that would easily run on 3DS (look at MonHun Stories for instance) and looks as bad as Vita shovelware on the Switch.
And guess what, now that they chose this direction on Switch it means you'll see no improvement whatsoever for the rest of the console's lifespan, no substancial reworks on animations/graphics, no nothing, it would undermind the little work they've already done.
