How many versions of him are there? Terranort first summoned him and it seems control of him went to Ansem SOD when he split into a Heartless and Nobody, but then Riku also had his own Guardian when he transformed into Ansem SOD

Amnesiac Terranort would have still had Terra's heart while being apprentice to Ansem the Wise. When Terranort finally split into Ansem SoD and Xemnas, SoD would have been a heartless covering both Xehanort and Terra's hearts. When Ansem finally gained physical form from Riku, it appears Terra himself would've kept a complete heartless form. Terra's heartless was likely playing the long game to finally betray Ansem if he needed to. Thus why he didn't betray him back in KH1(Or, you know, Terra wasn't even an idea in Nomura's mind yet). Plus Terra's Heartless didn't betray Ansem until his best friends were both in danger. There's only 1 version of him that appears on Terranort and Ansem SoD, likely only coming out whenever Xehanort's heart rests in a different entity

What is Lingering Will then if Guardian is Terra's heart? What happened to LW? He kind of just disappeared after blocking one attack. Actually for the first question I think we already have the answer:

The way I saw it LW wasn’t really Terra at all, it was simply just his thoughts and “will” to keep on fighting shoved into a hollow suit of armor. His thoughts would be comprised mostly of hatred for Xehanort and wanting revenge and his promise that he would fix everything he fucked up with Ven and Aqua

That part was so lame.
It should have gone like this...

Terranort gets pushed against the wall by Sora, Aqua and Ventus... at that point, Sora uses his power of waking to shoot his light beam at a caught off guard Terranort. Camera pans inside Terranort's heart. Terra's aura heart form is "released" from these chains due to Sora's waking power. Terra VS Master Xehanort: the background is all black and both fighters are standing utop their Sleeping Heart Circle... thing, except Terra's Heart thing is almost completely eclipsed by Master Xehanort's. Sora's voice echoes in the darkness: I can only hold this for a short time! Terra! Now's your only chance!!! As the battle rages on inside Terranort, and Terra gains the upperhand... the Terra's Heart Platform gradually begins to overtake MX's. As all this is taking place, you get audio cues from Terra's friends telling him to fight the darkness, not to give up, etc... then finally, with one last cool over the top finisher, the battle ends and Terra finds himself in control of his body once more

Forgot to add that the thoughts that remain in the armor are the reason that LW acts so irrationally sometimes like when he attacked Sora because he thought it was Xehanort and how it does nothing but utter Ven and Aquas names
