Why aren't you using one of these for Tetris, Puyo, Catherine, or any other puzzle game?
Why aren't you using one of these for Tetris, Puyo, Catherine, or any other puzzle game?
why would I spend more money
>why would I spend money, period
Don't pretend you don't pirate. You'd pirate your PC itself if it were possible.
stick is more fun
back to your general
Generally, I don't. I'm supportive of the PC gaming industry, at least compared to console gaming or TV/anime streaming (which I would rather avoid paying for).
I prefer stick for bullet-hells and fightans, but what I posted is best for puzzlers because no accidental diagonals. Ever.
Fair.
>no accidental diagonals. Ever.
gitgud
Also hitbox > mixbox
The mixbox is objectively fucking awful

Please explain.

Ah, this buzzword again. Either way, I've hit my peak for D-pad/ arcade stick. Already doing better in Catherine and Tetris than I ever was with a D-pad. Don't want to invest in/ learn Hitbox, since they might get banned from tournaments. Look up semi-new stuff about Daigo and the hitbox controversy.
By using the arrows scheme for the directions you lose the main advantage of having buttons for directions in the first place: the fact that you don't actually need to move your hand/fingers before you reach the button you need to press.
The hitbox oficial design is kind of shit since things are far too close to each other and that's going to wrech your arms, but it's just overall better to have all four buttons on four different fingers, you can be a lot faster this way.
I'm sure the arrow scheme is still superior to dpad and stick in certain situations, though, but this kind of design was never designed intentionally, it just seemed intuitive enough when people were first handling keyboards and games. Hitbox scheme at least made an effort towards creating something that works better.
>since they might get banned from tournaments
And mixboxes wont despite having the same issue?
You know hitboxes weren't banned either? Only gafroboxes (pic related) were as the way the SOCD cleaner works in them is different to hitbox brand htboxes. So you're gay ass mix box is just as likely to be banned as a hitbox (which is objectively better than a mixbox)
Imagine playing I Wanna Be the Boshy with that...
I wish they'd finally create a set of rules for what defines an ok controller. The way the gafrobox handles SOCD still happens on fucking pads, yet pads are allowed? I think they only "banned" it because daigo brought it up and they panicked.
because i use keyboard already kek
It depends on the game, in SFV does holding left then right result in neutral or you going right? As that was the issue which lead to gafroboxes being banned, hitbox brand hitboxes result in a neutral if you hold left+right
because i'm using this basically the same thing but I can shitpost with it too
The Sanwa gold looks nice but those keycaps look like cheap shit
gross
Never heard about these. Why are they being banned? What's the controversy?
They literally coded in that "left + right = forward", desu capcom has no stand to complain. If they truly wanted "left + right = neutral", that's all they'd have to do. In fact, it would be tons easier than coding something that has to check which direction to actually use, so I feel this is a bogus complaint. But pads don't have SOCD cleaning, so it also makes no sense to ban gafrobox without banning pads.
iirc there are multiple ways of SOCD cleaning. There's the "first press rules" (left then right = left), there's the "last press rules" (left then right = right), and then there's the "no SOCD allowed" (left then right = neither). I think gafrobox had all of them and allowed you to choose (returning to neutral is favorable for shotos, for instance, while last press favors chargers, daigo has also figured out cool tricks with the return to neutral).
They aren't. Only Daigo's gafrobox is banned because it adds a bunch of new buttons that allow funky shit that isn't possible for even stock hitboxes to do.
It didn't have any special buttons on it, it just had multiples of the same button, like 3 UPs and 4 medium kicks.
>It didn't have any special buttons on it, it just had multiples of the same button, like 3 UPs and 4 medium kicks.
And that's why it's banned? Wtf
Yes those are the special buttons. No other hitbox made has those extra buttons. Daigo's was custom made for his personal preference.
Its got nothing to do with the game, the controller itself handles the SOCD cleaning. So even if SFV has left+right=neutral it doesn't matter because the controller itself will be sending through the last pressed button to the game
I'm glad arcade sticks are taking their time with RGB shit and not adding them.
