Remember, PSO2 is literally dead in terms of updates. The game as it is now in Japan will no longer receive new events. The Xboc version is getting the full game only because it no longer will be getting updates.

in JP they release new/legacy scratch cards bimonthly, a few bucks buys a handful of scratch tickets and you roll roll roll for shit.

Filesize. Vita PSO2 is like 30+ gigs with all patches and content up to date. Even if you download it with NoPayStation to get faster speeds it's still easily half a day of downloading and transferring.

It's still very comfy, I only wish you could still get 3G service on phat Vitas so you could actually play it anywhere instead of only wherever there's wifi. PSO2 was my commute gaming staple for a while until AT&T discontinued service for Vita.

Last I played EP5 was just about done, except random bits of battle dialog are untranslated. EP3 still has this random chunk that's not translated near the end (and a ton of Luther battle dialog during the wacky adventure in [Double]), and with the omnibus thing when they added those Alma sections some of those aren't translated either.

Fact of the matter is that they made damage way too plentiful and way too easy to dish out compared to crowd control and support techniques. It becomes less about finding optimal tools for optimal situations, and more just about finding what shits out the most damage. It just ends up being boring as a result. But hey, I'm one of those people who always played support classes in previous games, where I cared more about locking down enemies so my teammates could shitstomp them without getting facerolled themselves.

Also, I'm still salty Gunner plays more like a melee class than a ranged class. I'll never not be pissed at that.

first off crowd control and strong buffs are still required for optimal play. and you saying "shitting out the most damage" is somehow easy is retarded, you absolutely need to find out optimal tools to optimize your damage, especially since all endgame enemies are aggressive as fuck and will kill you in 3 seconds. It basically becomes a pretty decent action game where you need to figure out what defensive and offensive tools your class has and think about the best way to approach bosses and situations with these tools.
This becomes especially apparent in solo / 4 player content in the endgame, and i agree that you dont really need any of that until you hit 80+
