It's on sale should I get it? I hate platformers but I kinda want to have a change of heart

It is the best 2D platformer. If this game doesn't change your mind then I don't know what will.

It's pretty good, just don't use Dixie or any of the items. They are a crutch and will ruin the game for you.

Still expensive. fucking nintendo sales are shit

if you hate platformers you're not going to like it, it's pretty hard for someone who isn't familiar with the genre

>I hate platformers

Who hurt you?

It's fantastic. If you don't want to spend the $40, at least play the original DKC if you haven't already.

They just aren't fun. It's the same shit repeated throughout the game with the only difference being different jump timings.

Well you definitely wouldn't like this

Well why do you hate platformers? Tropical Freeze might just be more of what you don't like.

Well user I don't want to make assumptions about you but that's a pretty reductive line of logic you could apply to any game not reliant on set piece deviations from core gameplay.

I love Dixie!

Very good music

This game cured my depression and Retro deserves support

literally the best platformer ever made, if you're willing to try it, do it
check out some gameplay online and you'll see how unique every level is

if you really gonna give it a try don't listen to
playing the way you want, i even recommended you play with funky mode on your first run

It almost made me lose faith in 2d platformers as a whole, OP. I'd steer clear, but you make your own decision .

It's overrated as fuck and deserved its gamespot score. The platforming has no fluidity. Play the original DKC games

Based, people should play a game in a way they want.

>that moment in DKCR in the Cliff minecart stage where you start riding round the giant egg halfshell

literally sweating bullets that whole game

Mundane, dull, boring, samey, I could go on. It's stuck in the 90s,you'll get bored of the monotonous game play very quickly unless you have the brain of an ant

>Muncher Mania

fuck tropical freeze

>The platforming has no fluidity
if you're complete shit yeah, if you know how to play though it's by far the most fun platformer for speedruns

Honestly I wish Returns got more praise. TF blew it out of the water, yes, but it's still a good game.

i guess by 2010 the wii craze had died down and no one was paying attention to the quality titles of the last 2 years that weren't galaxy 2 or skyward sword

This game actually blows. There's only three different bosses repeated three times and the levels themselves rarely do anything unique.

sneed

Why is this still $40? This game came out 5 years ago.

it's funny how
>muh dark souls
is always credited as the game that made difficulty acceptable again in mainstream gaming while everyone ignores that returns was a hard as balls game that sold 6.5 million copies on the wii of all consoles

It's worth the full 60 dollars desu. I was hesitant to make the jump too, but I'm so glad I did because it's become my favorite platformer and one of my favorite games of all time. There's just so much to love about this game.

on sale where???

If you're not good at platformers you're not going to like it.

Being on the Wii killed DKCR. Waggle to roll is a crime.

yeah not having GC support is fucked
can you use the pro for tropical freeze?

Yes. Also if you have any interest in Returns, the 3DS version has no wagglan and comes with an entire extra world.

>no fluidity
what did he mean by this

Just completed it over netplay with a friend, playing without waggle makes it so fucking good. It's a damn shame people don't give these games a chance.
