You get 11 songs and 11 spirits to represent the entire DQ mainline franchise (Sorry Monsterfags) Give me your list, what tracks you want? What rearrengements are you hoping for?
Also cool spirit battle ideas, or just monsters/party members that deserve to be in as spirits.
I’ll start with the songs and leave you lads with the spirits since that’s much harder.
can you change the battle music in DQ11S? i saw you can change the field music
Julian Torres
We don't know yet.
Jayden Gutierrez
They replay as Erdrick?
Julian Stewart
Is DQIII worth playing if I've never played a DQ before? Or should I just wait for DQ XI S? the reason I ask is because I'm absolute in love with that adventure theme. Like unironically, that song gives me shivers every time I listen to it
Lucas Bell
That last track is amazing, why does XI’s soundtrack get so much hate?
Nolan Hughes
Luminary is wearing Erdwin’s costume (Not Erdrick, Erdwin), the Hero who failed to kill Calasmos . Serena is wearing Serenica’s costume.
All callbacks to III but are their own characters and related to III’s party.
I would say playing III now is actually important since key events and characters from that game influence the story in XI.
Christian Clark
>11 songs
1 >Overture 2 >Adventure (III) 3 >Homeland/Wagon march mix (IV) 4 >Memories of a lost world (VII) 5 >Time of the decisive battle (IX) 6 >battle in the heavens. (VIII) 7 >Violent Enemies (V) 8 >Through the fields (VI) 9 >Normal Battle (XI) 10 >normal battle/Malroth mix (II) 11 > Dragonlord (I)
>Wasting all the spirits slots on Heroes which are already represented as characters, alts or in the final smash instead of memorable NPCs, party members, villains or monsters while also not being good for interesting spirit battles.
Oof.
Mason Ross
Whoever told you that probably has no patience or is confusing it for FF 1 and 2. DQ is simple, yes, but it's has a lot of historical significance to JRPGs, and it's quick so it never outstays it's welcome. 2 is magnificent, and one of the most balanced RPGs I've ever played. Just make sure you play the translated SNES versions.
Christian Thompson
Why is DQ2 so fucking hard and confusing kill me please
Nathan Gonzalez
There's an SNES remake of 1 and 2 bundled together that is top tier.
Jonathan Flores
Draw maps, and be mindful of which attacks work best in certain situations. Just attacking won't get you far. The game is generous.
Adrian Hughes
Seriously, this music is killer Thanks. How long are all the games, generally? Any of the other DQ games must plays? I'll be getting xi for sure
Aiden White
A lot of people only hear the synth version of the OST, which is actually really not good
Anthony Parker
I wonder if Sakurai will make some "WHY" battles like the entirety of Mother 3 or Paz
What are the chances of other people doing a remix? Like ACE did with Persona.
Anthony Roberts
I loved IV, V, VI and VIII. VII is 40 hours too long (but still worth playing for all the dark and sad stories) and IX is in a weird spot until we get a remake with online co-op.
XI has tons of music from past DQ games and are referenced in great ways, like the coliseum battle with IV’s song, or when you wake up in the church with V’s song Saint.
It’s not needed but it enhances the experience since those are very iconic moments. But i guess it works too if you play the old games after XI and you realize why the songs were used there.
>Eliza >Battle against DQ4 Hero >He dies in one hit but makes Zelda's KO scream for some reason
Jace Lee
My times: DQ1: 10 hours DQ 2: 20-25 hours DQ 3: 20 DQ 4, 5: about 40 DQ 6: 50 (but I took my time DQ 7: 80 (considering this is the streamlined 3ds version. The original ps1 version is about 110) DQ 8: 75 DQ XI: 75
Camden Morgan
How could you finish act 3 in 75 hours it took me 160
Did you speed through? side quests? bothered to speak to NPCs after each event?
Lincoln Hill
Unlikely. Sugiyama is anal as fuck about his music. I'm still in awe they were able to get the orchestral versions of the music.
Joseph Fisher
Not really. I took my time. I don't grind that much, if it's any consolation.
Also, it might help if I mention that I haven't finished post-game yet. Those 75 hours are just for the main story.
