Feminist discourse used to focus on the oppression of women. However it has reinvented itself by focusing on intersectional oppression. Imagine a Venn diagram, the idea is that there is a hierarchy of oppression and certain people are at the intersection of oppressed groups. A white gay guy has it easier than a black gay guy who has it easier than a transgender muslim lesbian etc. Basically the idea is that you have a hierarchy of who is the most oppressed and then make evaluations on who deserves / needs protection based on the hierarchy.
