When the stream came back it was when Duck Hunt was laughing. Then Banjo appeared. We both started sperging out and going ape shit. The I noticed a girl parked next to us giving us a very confused look. My friend went to his class and I enjoyed the rest of my day knowing Banjo was in smash.

I was watching from my phone while eating and didn't catch the Jiggy bounce. I thought it might be Dixie right until Kazooie's shadow came over the window. And then I was grinning like a moron for the rest of the day. I'm still riding that high.

I got real hype for the way Sakurai designed them. I'm not a Banjo guy, never played the games, but I was super fucking excited for all the people I've seen clamoring for them. Same deal with Luminary/Erdrick/The Hero.

Well Banjo is nostalgic to me and the series was a very popular 3D platformer collectathon when I was a young lad. I'll give an accurate description of my reaction.

We're excited about long-forgotten characters finally making a return, and it may also be a publicity stunt to drum up interest in a new Banjo-Kazooie game. It also shows that the Smash devs are listening to the Western fans, since we have been begging for them to make it into Smash since the first game. BK released in 1998 while SSB released in 1999.

Star Fox 64 came out first and that's what most people remember him most for, so I'd say he counts as N64.

DS first party lineup was pretty shit, to be honest. It was the third party games that made it shine.

I loved Banjo Kazooie and Tooie growing up.
When I watched the trailer I just thought to myself "oh, nice."
Then I watched the streamers reactions and felt a deep anger.
Why are they acting like retards? Most of them SUCK at Smash and most likely will only play the game just to try out Banjo, get destroyed, then go back to playing another game.
I saw one streamer who was watching the trailer and saw the Jiggy bounce across the screen and he didn't react, then he glanced at chat and saw everybody saying "Banjo!" so he immediately started pretending he knew.

I’m happy they got in and all but if you think Banjo is as big a deal as Dragon Quest you don’t really know much about video game history, the industry or which games have been influenced by what. Banjo was a big deal on the N64 but his franchise is utterly dead now.

If that's what ends up happening, I'm glad Smash (at least under Sakurai's care) lasted long enough to bring Rare back under its wing, along with everything else we've gotten. Anything else after this is just cherries on top.
