I wish I had never wasted even a second of my life on this piece of shit
Because that’s exactly what it is. Both Far Cry and nu-Hitman do everything it does except better.
There’s no reason to play TPP unless you’ve exhausted all other options as far as sandbox games go.
>Big Boss' arm is just Kaz's, except 8% bigger, with sharper elbows
What a budget.
>"You're a fucking autist!"
I love all the options in this game. Really gave me a lot of different approaches in each mission. I wish CQC weren't so overpowered so it'd give me more opportunities to experiment however.
I wish the whole game was like that first segment with the real Big Boss helping you bail out of the hospital. That was the only good thing to come out of it as far as cool moments or story related stuff. Gameplay was fine but the busy work of collecting supplies gets old and soon the game becomes more about that than a stealth/action adventure.
>I wish the whole game was like the worst part
what the fuck?
Bad taste. It's the best written part of the game. Of course I don't want the whole game to be a slow slag like that but I wish the writing and future moments in the game were on the same level instead of being forgettable.
I enjoyed it despite the story being a fragmented mess lacking any proper conclusion.
I've played through it 3 times.
First time at launch, got to 100%.
Second with IH installed with OSP always on.
Third recently with IH and loads of other mods. Mostly cosmetic camo / ddog / QoL shit installed with the 80s freshade filter.
Second chapter still annoys me, but I still enjoy the gameplay enough to disregard it. The War Economy and A Quiet Exit can forever fuck off though. Easily two of the worst / most annoying missions in the entire game.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain was the greatest disappointment since Mass Effect 3: Revenge of the Mass Effects.
That part really set such a crazy tone for the game. Coming out of that part and entering Afghanistan, I expected some crazy shit.
Then it was just, nothing, the entire game.
Such a disappointment. The game would've benefited greatly from being a linear story experience like 1-4 was, or even by having smaller segmented areas like PW, rather than these big fuckhuge maps full of nothing.
many, not much
>there are people on this earth who paid $60 for Ground Zeroes
I wish health didn't regenerate.
I wish stamina was finite.
I wish calling in resupplies in enemy territory carried risk.
I wish I'd have to actually get into and out of enemy territory, instead of having my magical helitaxi drop me two yoinks from any objective without the enemy ever being wiser to it.
>i wish the whole game was a scripted movie sequence
But it launched for $40
NOT ONLY THAT, I bought a PS4 just for Ground Zeroes.
>People bought 5 after playing 4
Fools and money.
Haven't played new Hitman but TPP is far smoother and more fun to play than fucking Far Cry
it basically is yeah, and it's also missing the last 1/3 of the game so the ending is abrupt and kinda shit. but that one mission when your base gets infected and you're forced to execute your own men, and then in the last room they all salute you as you shoot them in the head really got to me, which is a kudos from me
>>"You're a fucking autist!"
What other response could you possibly expect?
That's because it IS a standard sandbox action game that's quite derivative of Far Cry. That's not a bad thing since many people like that but it also disappoints old fans who wanted more sneaking sections in enclosed environments
I would say Far Cry is about the same but with less stealth focus. Don't know about nu-shitman
>that one infected soldier that was tied down by the others
>hovering over their heads shows you their code names
mfw
Was A Quiet Exit the one where you're holding off tanks for 20 minutes.
Having been a huge MGS fan since MGS1, I had high hopes and expectations for this game. Everything leading up to it's release implied that we were going to receive this grand wrap-up of Big Boss, and have the story come full circle to MG1.
Instead we got a broken story with no conclusion, a wrap-up that went out with a soft whimper, rather than a big bang.
There were infinite amounts of lost potential.
>no Gray Fox being found in Africa
>no ending where you infiltrate Motherbase as Solid Snake and take on Venom
>third chapter that tied up Sehelanthropus, Mantis, and Eli's stories entirely cut, leaving the end of the game and their stories on this awkward cliffhanger
>Chico cut from game
>no bossfight against Skull Face, dies in a fucking cutscene
>no final bossfight against Man on Fire, "dies" in a fucking cutscene
>no large-scale satisfying bases to infiltrate outside of Nova Braga and OKB Zero
>no interiors
>Metal Gear vehicle cut from gameplay, used in deployments only
There's more that doesn't immediately come to mind.
The game was made because of retards like this guy.
still the best MGS game IMO
You hold off 4 waves of tanks, 2 of which have top-tier tanks with shells that 1-shot you, plus a heli on the final wave.
Doing the tasks for that mission for 100% is absolute fucking suffering.
>get to the final wave, keeping QUiet at 100% for the task achievement
>only have heli to shoot down
>Quiet drops down to drop a supply flare for me, gets nipped by the heli's chaingun fire
>task failed
>task where you have to extract every vehicle
>chewed fucking alive by either infantry fire, the heli fire, or one of the top-tier tanks 1-shot shelling you from across the map through a sandstorm
Fuck the entire mission. Just throw it all the fuck away.
>wanting more Nova Braga or OKB Zero
Pls no. I hate those bases the most. Just because they were big didn't mean they were good. Nova Braga is a shit that's pure suffering to sneak through when the game just throws snipers at you and OKB Zero would've been great if it wasn't so linear but that linearity makes it a pain in the ass.
I wish there were more places like Lufwa Valley and more encounters like the Quiet clones
Yeah it really does feel like a Ubisoft product with a few MGSisms thrown in.
My point regarding mentioning those two areas was that the game needed less big wide empty open spaces, and more tighter, more detailed and interesting areas.
I both love and hate this game. I love it because it was pretty fun to play, but hate it because it creates this itch that the game itself doesn't quite satisfy, that no other game has been able to scratch.
Yeah but Nova Braga is the single most open and exposed base and the way the missions are set up there, you barely ever even have to go into the buildings, you just end up crawling along the runway.
Even the oil refinery and mine were better in terms of sneaking potential.
Yeah it's miserable but you're supposed to protect your waifu and then cry like a little bitch when you lose her anyway
I clear out Nova Braga and Afghan central base just for fun. I love those bases
There is no sandbox game that plays like it. That's why it's unique.
It's not missing 1/3rd. It's missing the Eli boss fight before mission 43. End of the game is exactly as it was intended.
I hated Quiet because of how stupid her design was, and the story explanation justifying it. I'm glad that there are some great mods that change her default outfit though.
Also,
>Foxkit devs state that the game editor is close to reaching a release build
>soon we'll have access to map editing and side-op creation tools
The itch here is the incompleteness of Act 2 and the shitty plot tbqh
It's honestly incredibly to see the stupidity of the average Metal Gear fanboy.
Fuck, could be...
>First Chapter had 31 original missions
>Second Chapter had 6 original missions, with 12 recycled missions from Chapter 1
>hurr fanboy
There was very little implication leading up to release that the game was going to end up the way it did. The trailers, up until the very last pre-release trailer, all included scenes and content that wasn't even in the final game.
t. didn't play Peace Walker
Greatest Game of the decade and I’m not even memeing. Kojikino on par wiTH MGS3
I really like that one base where you have to get the burning man's corpse from! You know the one! The one where there's like thirty seven missions set there! The one where you keep having to go back there over and over and over again but there's only like 4 different ways in including the front entrance!
I REALLY THINK IT WAS REALLY COOL HOW THEY DID THAT!
Seriously what the fuck was Kojipro's problem? Look at Ground Zero. It was an amazing sprawling base. Look at that mountain base you have to sneak into before the skullface car ride. It was great. Look at the oil plant in Africa that you had to go to. Not as good obviously but still alright. They could have just made one area like six times the size of Camp Omega, it could have been set up in a Shadow Moses kind of way where you keep retreading the same ground, but it's always in hostile territory so you're always sneaking, as opposed to long boring drives or helicopter rides dotted with occasional tiny outposts of 3 or 4 guys. Hell he could have even had it be a linear set of small open areas like MGS3. What the fuck man. So much god damn potential wasted.
Everything surrounding Quiet was full retard. It's like she has a retard aura that makes all other characters act stupid while around her.
Especially blatant during the scene where she gets tortured because that's where everyone goes full retard.
>she was the one with the vocal chord parasites activated by speaking english all along!
>better torture her to make her speak English!
>also she had hundreds of chances to betray and kill us and she is literally in love with the Boss
>so maybe we shouldn't have tortured her but I'll hook a car battery to her tits and nearly kill her anyway
>somehow I know that she speaks Navajo (???) but I won't try to talk to her until they're done torturing her
>all this time Snake is just standing back and watching the retardation and doesn't care even though he clearly cares about Quiet by that point
>Quiet herself refuses to say anything even in Navajo or write anything on a piece of paper to end the stupidity
That said I still think she was the best character in the game since she wasn't so much of a cardboard cutout and I liked her relationship with Snake.
I did play Peacewalker. It had 5 chapters. Chapter 4 was the end of the story, with Chapter 5 providing wrap-up content and extra shit. Each chapter contained a handful of missions and story-driven plot points that paced decently. Then you had side-op content that provided a good variety of ops ranging from serious battle / stealth ops, to fun ops like pop the balloons, photograph the commander, etc etc.
MGSV had 2 chapters, horribly paced, second chapter was all recycled shit, and the side ops were all copy/paste shit for 151 ops. Even worse, people who are working on Foxkit have found a lot of shit in the game files that heavily implies that the side ops were mostly all generated by machine using algorithms, which would explain the massive lack in any of the side ops actually being anything original.
The vocal cord parasite and everything they did with it was fucking stupid and sounds like something a child would make up
based
Nothing any of the characters did made sense. Literally not a single fucking character in the entire game made a single lick of sense at any given point. I still don't understand what Skullface's fucking plan was. He wanted to destroy the english language? Which would for some reason make everyone buy superweapons off him? Which he would control and thus control the world? He wanted to control the world for revenge? Where did Metal Gear even come into the storyline at all?
Kojima wanted to seem profound and deep with his themes about language and thought so he had to contrive a plot device by which he could lay those themes out.
That's basically the whole plot in a nutshell
SUCH A LUST FOR REVENGE
When that whole thing started coming to a head, I genuinely kept hoping it would turn into something else, but then Skull Face gives his whole awkward speech on that car ride. It was then that I knew the story wasn't worth focusing on anymore, and I stopped listening to the endless fucking amounts of audio tapes.
>Foxkit devs state that the game editor is close to reaching a release build
>soon we'll have access to map editing and side-op creation tools
Don't tell me this. Don't give me a reason to reinstall this game and learn how to use that editor. All it's going to do is encourage me to create a new map of nothing but areas and side ops inspired by Peacewalker.
>The fucking car ride with Skullface
I hope that cutscene was rushed and unfinished there is no way someone gave the greenlight on this
>task where you have to extract every vehicle
Very easy when you spam Armor Parasites.
I don't even know why the scene happened.
He wanted to destroy all languages EXCEPT English because he was a globalist and wanted to end all ethnic conflict. The proliferation of nukes was his plan to rule the world and to make it so no single country could have enough power to compete with him. The English parasites were only to infect Quiet so she could use them to kill snake in case he captured her alive.
The problem with this plan is that Skullface hates English and hates globalism because he had his Romanian culture and language stripped away from him when he was a kid. He is essentially fighting what he calls the "tyranny of the English language" by perpetuating that same tyranny in a literal sense and destroying ALL minority cultures. Fucking retarded.
Metal Gear/ Sahelanthropus was meant to carry nukes and was supposed to scare the US when they would've found out about its existence. Considering that it didn't carry nukes and scaring the US to ratchet up the cold war makes no sense in context of the rest of his plan, this was retarded too.
WHOOOOOOOOOOO
>The English parasites were only to infect Quiet so she could use them to kill snake in case he captured her alive.
Why didn't he just put a bomb in her vagina?
I WAS BORN IN A SMALL VILLAGE
Does anyone have the screencap by a "kojipro employee" who stated shit like the car ride was originally supposed to be Skullfuck giving Big Boss a tour of the underground of OKB Zero where they walk past a bunch of other MG1 Metal Gears. Kinda makes sense because Kaz talks about an underground lab at OKB Zero you never see.
He also said there was planned to be 5 chapters, with chapter 4 taking place in urban USSR areas, which would make sense since there's urban camo you can develop, but no urban areas.
I really want to believe that guy.
Because a snuke in the snizz was Paz's thing and he didn't want to use stale memes.
I guess because Snake would never have guessed? Yeah, a pandemic to wipe out the rest of humanity was also big brain thinking on his part.
Do you miss TPP posting?

Kojima is a hack, pretentious
>the "lust for revenge" was just Eli's autistic rage at grownups for not letting him go die in nigger wars
>this let's him control metal gear through little Psycho Mantis
Yeah I was a fanboy, but I had a blast experimenting and getting creative by doing things like putting self-imposed restrictions and extra goals on myself. I got so good I could just sprint around the base and whip around and headshot any guard that noticed me with bullet time disabled - basically playing it like Ocelot would using the pistol at range sometimes pulling off trick shots. Best shot I ever made was headshoting a truck driver halfway across the map and through a fence. Was disappointed when the shooting mechanics were not the same in MGSV.
Kojima really needs more people to edit/question his writing..

>Boss, I need you to beat the shit out of your eight year old son
Absolute kino
That's my biggest gripe with the open world system. All these options, all these "different ways to infiltrate the enemy" and all these fun tools, vehicles, etc. and for what? There's literally no fucking level design for most of the map.
I actually enjoyed my time with it, but it's not a game I would ever replay.
I'm sure there's a mix of truth and lies in that post. I'm at work, so I can't post it, but I have it on my desktop at home.
The guys working on the Foxkit editor found map files that implied there would be returns to Central America (Guatemala), return to Cyprus, a return to the original MB ruins, and a few other maps.
>Guatemala during it's KINO civil war,
well damn that sucks
Should have made a MGS1 prequel focusing on the relationship between BB and Solid. That'd be the real missing link game. BB knows the whole time that he's going to turn on everyone and he's trying to subtly shape Snake so that when he's forced to kill him he doesn't go down the same path that BB did when he killed the Boss.
And like all "sandbox" games I stopped playing halfway through because it got repetetive as fuck and the plot moved like cold molasses.
I can't wait until the entire "open world" fad is over.
