Doing HW elite hunts for centurio coins, why are some of the elites so much easier than others? Fought a giant serpent, a dragon, and an amphitheater dragon the other day and those took a long ass time and OP DRK souleater spam to beat. Then I fought the Vanu guy that I actually have a bounty for, killed him in 15 seconds and gotten me 100 coins instead of 40.

You didn't even read what I wrote. 6th gcd is not the point, even though it amounts to 10 gcds lost over a fight and those 10 gcds would've been buffed by 20%, it's actually a good chunk of dps.
But I again repeat, the main problem is capping on your ricochet and gauss round, that's where the dps loss is even worse.
It is not about parsing. I don't parse, never have. I have, however, wiped many times because people, or myself in some cases, couldn't do enough dps. When you're in situations where every ounce of dps matters for a CLEAR, a MCH with 100 ping is a huge, huge burden.

ogcds are off the global cooldown, meaning you can use them basically whenever you want independent of each other

There's 2 steps to clear a fight: learn the mechanics, do enough dps. Doing the mechanics does not guarantee a clear in and of itself, it needs dps too.
There's practice parties there's clear parties. In clear parties, dps is most important because being in a clear party implies you know the mechanics. Real 2000IQ shit right here dude.
