I don't know hwo to play the campaign as It takes forever to shit out army or make the economy going.
How do you play TW: Shogun 2?
>150x84
Yari-Ashigaru and Light cavalry can win most battles for you.
Go full economy and just build peasant armies until mid game. They are surprisingly a lot more competent than you might think, especially if you can manage them well.
How do I make them not break as soon as other peasants start tickling them? Should I just idle my general next to them?
Play as Oda, spam ashigaru, win.
But what if I want to play as Hojo? Oda is casul-tier.
Put them in yari wall formation, give them archer support and flank with light cavalry, or use the general if you got nothing else, enemy peasants break really really fast once they get charged from the back.

This, you can spam the shit out of light cav/ashigaru and steam roll most opponents with ease. More advanced units are best utilized as secondary lines of defense/siege tactics.
>yari wall
Fuck, why did I forget about this one? Thanks, user.
TIGERS TIGERS TIGERS
Yari wall is the sole reason ashigaru are some of the best units in the game as it shows just how cost effective they are, they can hold the line forever as long as they don't get flanked
OUR MEN FLEEEE FROM DA BATTRFIELD, A SHAMEFRUL DISPLAY!!!
Tips:
1. Trust no one, not even your best allies
2. Try to get as much honor as possible (and don't lease land or raze settlements). Other factions are less likely to declare war on you for shits and giggles.
3. Be prepared for Realm Divide
4. Watch the coast and have a strong navy to fend off assholes trying to sneak armies into your backyard
5. High skilled ninjas and metsuke are a must and can turn the tide in some situations.
6. Don't be too fast and don't be too slow with progress. You have to keep up the pace with the enemies. Blitz only if you exactly know what you're doing.
7. Yari Ashigaru should remain the backbone of your army for about the first half or third of the campaign. They're superior to Yari Samurai due to their spear wall ability.
Google hammer and anvil
If you have missile superiority, let them come to you
Use cavalry to kill routing units

I've only had one campaign where my allies didn't turn on me with Realm Divide. Turns out the Takeda are pretty chill.
Play as Date, come pout from your mountain place with blacksmithed katanas and steamroll the enemy with actual workable steel
They're chill until they become too powerful and ambitious. It's like allying with a hungry lion.
Use peasant garrisons in every city: 1 spear and 1 bowman for normal cities, 3-4 units for rebelious ones.
Build a decent samurai army. I use 5-7 bow samurai, 2 cavalry units, 6 swords and the rest spears.
Build farms on fertile soil first, upgrade the barren and meagre ones later. Build markets. Also watch your food. Don't upgrade too fast so you can keep up with food.
You can take the entire map like this on normal difficulty. The game isn't exactly hard if you know about the realm divide event. Otherwise you're kinda fucked.
FUUUUUUUUUUCK I WANT TO PLAY 3k
