I played a bit (5 hours in), its quite shitty at the beginning because of the limitations, but a friend of mine let me use his chink-tier optimized party and it was awesome.

it'll get cracked if the chinese want to play it. if it doesn't appeal to the chinese in any way, then you're in for a wait. I would expect this to take 1-3 months, maybe less since it's a Squeeeeeenix game, who knows. Personally I dislike the retro style and would never consider playing it unless it were ~$5 on steam.

Thing is, that most cracking groups are putting everything into cracking 1800 which has almost 4 times the following than octopath.

anno 1800 is a perfect example, the chinese do not want to play that game, unlike the new total war game set in 3 kingdoms. chinese cracking scene is fucking enormous, whereas western cracking scene is practically dead as most decent crackers now work for security companies and silicon valley making bank instead of sitting around cracdking shit for free.

well I don't get paid until next thursday and I have to pay quite the amount of bills this time around, hope it gets cracked by then, but if not I will probably just buy it.

I've heard denuvo is now working closely with devs and putting their shit pretty closely tied to the game files so the whole game breaks if it detects a crack.

I own the game on the switch, if I could refund it I would buy in on PC for those extra 30FPS, but alas nintendo doesn't believe in refunding games for some reason.

So I'll play other games, I have ni no kuni 2 in my backlog for a long time, I think I should play it and wait for summer sales to hit, octopath is bound to go down to 10-20 range and thats a price I'm willing to pay.

That sucks. If it was just a new version we would just have to wait until they cracked it once so they would have a good idea of how to do it next time but if Denuvo works closely with each company to modify their game files for Denuvo then each game will have their own crack time. It might as well be as if every game had their own version of Denuvo and this sucks. Still not paying tho.

Unless you’re autistic, a few dips here and there in an already slow game is reasonable. It’s only horseshit in games like RE2 or DMC, or genres like RTS, FPS, or fighting games where frame drops will completely dampen the experience since it affects player performance as well.

I mainly play city builders where frame drops late game are kind of a given unless you play on a behemoth, so my opinion may be odd.

All the more reason to not buy games anymore.

Yup I've seen a lot of people saying this, every game has denuvo coding in game files and everything is bound to crash and burn as soon as you temper a bit with it.

This is a dark era we going to, denuvo won in the end, back to limitting the amount of games I will play.

Gonna buy shit on summer sale that is around the 80% discount. And only buy during summer and sale, its not like I have shit ton of roms, a hacked 3ds, a hacked vita, and countless other games in my PC/consoles that I haven't played.

Who knows, this new denuvo shit might make actually clear my damn backlog.

no. I'm just saying jrpg's are slow and the frame rate rarely if ever has any effect on the enjoyment or playability of the game. It doesn't really matter if octopath runs at 30 locked, 60, 120, 144.
