These games also have massive feilds of view, and horizon has so much more going on on screen, with enemies with an absurd amount of detail and polies.

I was on twitter looking on the comments about this game and there are pc gamers who are saying consoles are going to hold this game back because they wont run it past 60fps on 4k on ultra details, and Im thinking to myself how many PC owners are even going to be capable of doing that? Do they just assume that everyone runs a super high end rig that can run everything maxxed?
The vast majority of people who play this on either a console or pc are going to do so at 1080p 60fps.

Yes a lot of PC players can't run it turned up to max (although theres a ton who can) but the difference between that and consoles holding us back is that when a game is made for console and then ported to PC, there's always a ton of graphical setting options missing, framerate caps, unstable areas etc that the devs were trying to get running on a console. Then when it comes to PC it usually runs like garbage. MK11 had this with its 30fps almost everything until they finally patched in 60fps. PC gaming is all about options and when you make a game for console youre making one concrete shitty version

I understand what your saying about the ports from consoles to PC, and that PCs offer my parity, but I think devs rather have a sort of consistency where the vast majority of people can enjoy the game.
I mean look at the original Crysis. That game was specifically designed to show case just how much can be achieved on a gaming PC, yet even years after its original release the vast majority of gamers couldn't run it at its ultimate potential.
The sky is the limit when it comes to graphically fidelity and performance when designing a game with PC at the forefront, but that would assume gamers would be willing to upgrade every few years to take advantage of that, while not leaving behind those who cant (especially the way prices for gpus keep going up)
