It's already a steal at its normal value. At half price it's an insane bargain. Those who say it's a bad metroidvania have had their brains bleached by the hand holding in Fusion and Zero Mission, though those two are still good games. Hollow Knight doesn't hold your hand but it never leaves you hanging either.

You could always just save your money? I was being slightly hyperbolic is right though. If you like metroidvanias you'll probably like. I'm pretty burnt out on them. It feels like the laziest indie genre

Yeah they fixed the looping thing for VII. I believe there's still an issue with IX though.

yeah, it's pretty good.lots of secrets and exploration. solid but simple fights and some challenging end game stuff. you get customization with charms, and it looks great.

I thought Zero Mission's was fine since you could completely ignore it and go your own way. Fusion was unforgivable though.

everything in the last 4 years besides hollowknight has been complete garbage.

I know the PC steam port had an issue with the music files. like it was low quality or a few tones off. someone thankfully unpacked the PS1 music files so you can just replace them, and it sounds great.

It's a good game. The map is about as unintuitive as you could make in a metroidvania game, though.

Yes, but remember that you have to rely on your own navigation skills.
The map is mostly designed to troll redditors and people with literally 0 self-reliance. It has the facade of being a navigation helper, but it's a false crutch designed to fall apart if you try to rely on it.

Get it. Teh art style kept me from buying it for quite a while, but in the end I actually loved the art style, the world design, the gameplay, the music, it is just a very good game.

I honestly forget why I bought Hollow Knight, but I don’t regret doing so at all. The first weekend playing it was so good.
