Yes. Their first mainline game on a home console, and they cut hundreds of Pokemon from even existing inside of it for supposed technical reasons, despite the game barely having better model and texture quality than US/UM. Which isn't even to speak of the disaster that is Pokemon Home, the stupid concept of dynamaxing, the cutting out of Mega Evos and Z-moves while still keeping Alola variants, the emptiness of the open areas, and other smaller things that have added up to the shitshow that is Gen 8's debut.

I don't think Sw/Sh have to be bad, and I would love for them to be the first good games since B/W, but I think their fate is already set. Game Freak doesn't seem interested in working on Pokemon anymore, and it shows.

It seems simply underwhelming for the most part, but the real kicker and the thing everyone's making a fuss over is not being able to transfer older pokemon into the game if they're not already in the Galar region dex.
They won't even have the code for certain pokemon put in the game, so you literally can't get your favorite in if they're not already part of the Galar region even if you tried.
And this isn't just for -this- game, it's for all their future games, too.

The game just looks okay. Dynamax looks like shit and the open world sections are barren as hell. It is still Pokemon at the end of the day though, can't really fuck up that formula for kids.

I kind of understand where this is coming from, if I had a bunch of Pokemon that I've been transferring since RS or DPP to the newer games I'd be pissed too. The thing is that this will actually be the first Pokemon game that I buy, I played the GBC and GBA ones on an emulator back in 2002-2004 and I played Platinum and Black on an Acekard so for me this is actually a great chance to jump into the series knowing I won't be playing against some dude and his perfect IV Pokemon that he's been carrying since three generations ago.

Seems like most people that even used the national dex are for competitive purposes. If it's in, they can transfer their super OP Pokemon from a decade ago that was never nerfed. I understand why they would be mad but I just don't give a fuck.

They literally make hundreds of millions with the shitty cashgrab that is pokemon go, they just realized that they don't need to make more "complex" traditional pokemon games, just appeal to nostalgia with shitty f2p mobile games. S&S is probably going to be GF's last pokemon game: unfinished, horrible shitty graphics and meme gimmicks.

The thing about pvp battles is that prior games already had systems in place for what you're describing, like rulesets that only allow Pokemon caught in the newest games to be used. A very elegant solution compared to outright cutting species from the games' code.

I was totally fine with shit graphics and I didn't expect anything else. But now they're cutting huge and central aspects of the gameplay, so that the game can have good graphics, except that the graphics aren't even good.
