Dark souls.
girl in the anime is really cute
Literally any jrpg.
I mean probably paper Mario since each crystal star there does have it's own effects.
Literally final fantasy. Also why is taking the belt out of the country basically an insta kill to the wearer?
A failsafe if the belt left Deltora.
>tfw just got the entire collection
time to nostalgia i guess
The second and third books were the best.
Probably lunar. Bards apparently just beat the big bad without effort.
POST the Hot GIRLl.,,, i need her bros... i forgot about her
lol @ jrpg console playing losers saying it looks or reminds them of a jrpg and call it "literally final fantasy"
>get an anime adaption by an author who says she wanted it so her and her kid could bond over something they both like
It's pretty clear she's fond of anime tropes which are all over jrpgs.
Too many elves. Also fuck dragons and their eggs.
didn't lief marry one of those diamond territory girls?
Too many shitty puzzles
>second rate
>somewhat obscure
>childhood nostalgia
I don't think it's what you wanted, but take this.
What if you were to store the belt away on a ship and sail away? What happens to it then?
>Season 3 will never be animated
and that's a good thing.
False vacuum collapse.
*Ahem,* I have an announcement to make, Gray Guards:
FUCK THE SHADOWLORD
FUCK PRANDINE
FUCK THAEGAN
FUCK THAEGAN'S 13 DEMON CHILDREN
FUCK NORADZIR
FUCK DAIN
AND ESPECIALLY FUCK tom
Lief marries best girl Jasmine.
>tom
honestly fuck that dude.
Runescape
based
Terrarria
I once went to a school thing where we had a lecture given by the guy who did the art for these books then I read them cause I liked the art and had a blast, good times.
>Gray
Fuck seppos.
I didn't know they made this into an anime
Is it good? I remember reading the books as a kid
How did this series even end? I remember reading them as a kid, but then learning that after the 7th book, they added like 3 more or whatever.
The actual DS game.
Third series is the best.
three where they went to the shadowlords land, and i think four after that where they fought false stones and awakened dragons.
any good?
No idea. OP made me google all the book covers for nostalgia, and I came across that. Japan only it seems.
>Japan only
What a strange choice.
>books sold over 15 milion copies worldwide
Holy fucking shit!! And here I thought it was niche and obscure.
user there are ten quintillion people. 15 million isn't shit
blew my mind when I found about the anime adaptation and DS game
I guess it did well in Japan?
>Americans
It's not an insta kill. But the belt would lose it's power because the power of the gems is tied to the land of Deltora itself.
I forgot they made an anime of it. Jesus.
I mean it sounds very much like a game series would. Aside from having a man clearly much older than the two kid companions.
Thaegan gulps her favorite food
In her cave with all her brood:
Hot, Tot, Jin, Jod,
Fie, Fly, Zan, Zod,
Pik, Snik, Lun, Lod
And the dreaded Ichabod.
Each child holds a slimy toad.
On each toad squirm two fat grubs.
On each grub ride two fleas brave.
How many creatures living in Thaegan's cave?
>fuck dragons
Don't mind if I do
They're called Grey Guards
>grey
Europoor get out.
user, there are 6 billion people only, only a fraction of whom have disposable income.
Selling 15 million is crazy when you consider the royalties the author made on that. She’s easily a millionaire, all as a result of a niche children’s fantasy book franchise full of tropes and cliches.
>This and Magic Tree House get anime over stuff like Harry Potter or even Animorphs.
What
106
>Euro
Guess again, seppo
reread these a few years back just for shits and gigs. they're surprisingly dark and exciting for that age range.
Magic Tree House makes sense since it's edutainment. It's in the same realm as Magic School Bus and Wishbone.
>mc was the chosen one all along
That disappointed me a lot back in the day. The girl being the chosen one wouldve been a better resolution.
Live no evil
>yfw the rakacharz were once rat catchers
blew my teenage mind
this was implied a few times but nope lets do a 180 back to the most incompetent guy in the party
>Young hero that eventually discovers that he is royalty
>Thief girl who wears gray
>Gruff royal guard
It is shockingly similar if you ignore the rest of the crazy chaos magic
Is the anime worth a watch? Loved the books in my youth.
Literally
Series 1:
>assembled belt of deltora, got rid of the Shadow Lord's influence over Del
Series 2:
>assembled the pirran pipe, travelled into the shadowlands and nuked the Shadow Lord
Series 3:
>killed all evil sisters, then the dragons fought and killed the Ak-Baba. Lief married Jasmine at the end.
It's been ages since I last read the second and third series. I have no idea where my books are these days.
>6 billion
7.5 billion.
>Due to the series' popularity in Japan, it was extended to 65 episodes from the original 52, containing stories not in the original novels. The English dub restores the ending of the original novels, and ignores the 13 added episodes in the anime.
anime intros are weird
But we all agree Gorl was based
Ah Deltora quest or as i call it literally a jrpg without questionable fan service and random power ups which ruin the story by making the protagonists op
All the books by the author are like that. She really gets what kids care about.
