well, Yea Forums?
Well, Yea Forums?
It's good that there are still companies that tell their investors to fuck off.
>that right one
no way, it can't be true bros
Considering how bad of an issue crunch is, the fact that Nintendo is putting the well being of their employees above their investors means they're actually not a completely scummy country.
"Market value" is irrelevant as long as the company is sustainably profitable. A bunch of boomer nobodies trying to tell video game companies to stop caring about video games is the worst part of the industry right now.
>Animal Crossing delay is the only thing investors care about
>not Pokémon fan backlash
>not any announcements by competition
>only AC
Nintenbros will buy their excuse completely because they are incapable of thinking whenever Nintendo is involved.
Because TPC is independent from Nintendo. Animal Crossing is in house. That's the difference.
Money good
Human lives bad
>country
?
In other fake news...
It's not even boomer's all investors are stupid as fuck and will sellout any long term idea for short term gains.
I actually got laid yoday.
>>not Pokémon fan backlash
this one is imaginary and even their casual retarded ass know it.
>bad of an issue crunch is
it really isn't. Notice how all "proof" comes for former employees, or social media talking in account of imaginary victims?
It's just people who got fired trying to get some petty vengeance through twitter. It's not going anywhere.
It's got nothing to do with quality of life, Switch AC hasn't even been in development long because Nintendo wanted to make Pocket Camp instead.
You're under estimating investor stupidity. Nintendo stock (Not TPC, GF or creatures) skyrocketed when Pokemon go was made.
The stock market was a mistake.
based Nintendo, fuck investors
I don't get it, why kill the goose that lay golden eggs just to make quick profit and fucking up everything in the long run instead of steady profit?
>literally hundreds, if not thousands, of people universally say that there's the same problem
>"nah they're all lying, believe the millionaire corporate masters, consume like a good boy"
You don't know about the Nintendo country?
user...
Win-win. I get better games and Nintendo loses money.
The thing is everyone in video games knows about crunch. You signed up for this.
Its sad really, this is why other devs treat their staff like shit because they're too scared of their investor's wrath.
We really don't deserve heros like Nintendo.
People are more interested in the gains from aggressive trading over the small gains you get from dividends.
>he doesn't know about jambo nintendo
NOOOOO MY STOCKSSS
Lowee is peaceful.
It's inhabitants, kind.
>flat
Lastation has no friends
>muh lastation boogeyman
if the new york financial district were hit with a nuclear explosive, the world would instantly become a better place
investors do not deserve decision making power
investing in bad actors should be a crime
the stock market, as a concept, is a combination of ursury and intellectual property, neither of which are capitalistic concepts, and was, as a whole, a bad solution to a problem that really didn't need solving
wall street does not understand economics; to the point that they have, in fact, broken the general functionality of the economic abstraction through sheer stupidity
You're a fucking moron who doesn't understand how stocks work.
Animal crossing Delay and that Pokemon shit really killed them
Isn't Japan the country that has a word specifically for working so hard you die?
Good, people who like that shit series deserve punishment.
>>literally hundreds, if not thousands,
but that's wrong. You have like 4 reports, all citing "nameless ex employees (who got fired but we won't say it)" then all clickbaits citing each others to pretend there was an actual study in the industry.
Even when Riot go on strike it's only their fucking forum managers that lead the march. It's full of hot air, even worse than #metoo at this point.
The country of Nintendo is the most prosperous land on earth you stupid fuck.
Calling it right now, for a year, every time a game company fucks up, they're going to use the "Oh that's because we don't want to put our developers under too much pressure and do crunch" excuse
>capitalism is bad
>the stock market, as a concept, is a combination of ursury and intellectual property
>neither of which are capitalistic concepts
this is your brain on corporatism
punish me then
Good on nintendo. Investors are trying to force them to bend the knee though and chances are they'll succeed. Hope not, but. yeah. Fucking marketjews I swear to god.
>capitalism good
You niggers are retarded and so are the communists. Difference between capitalism ruling indirectly or directly (and fucking everything up) and using some capitalistic ideas to make sure you've businesses growing.
The stock market is basically run by computers right now.
Have you ever bothered to look beyond asinine gaming articles?
The very nature of software- and particularly game development necessitates crunch.
You have tremendous workloads, set deadlines, and poor management.
People across countries, companies, fields of software development and so on all agree upon this.
It's not even just a program with games. Far from it, in fact. Even visual effects artists in Hollywood are having to endure ridiculous crunch.
Neoliberalism and democracy is cancer.
>Down 1b
What happened Nintenbros.
Everyone's stocks went down. Nintendo's went down to like last week's numbers. Stockholders are timid as fuck. The slightest sneeze sets them off.
>companies should listen to the business-major fucks that completely leveled the american economy twice now, going on thrice
market share means nothing in the face of actual garnered profits. Nintendo is smart to side with their employees, and therefore win trust of the consumers who actually drive their profits
There may be some partial truth to it, but if Nintendo didn't already have a stacked lineup for the second half of 2019 I have no doubt Animal Crossing would be releasing this year. Bowser saw a good opportunity for a PR move.
Current employees have complained too. The RDR2 shit that started all the narrative about this interviewed at least a half dozen current employees that talked about mental breakdowns on the job.
ive worked in videogames, its a problem. just look up what crunch time entails on average
Fuck developers
And fuck sjws for forcing this developers rights shit
How dare you take Animal Crossing away
I don't work videogames but I too have to do overtime from time to time. Be honest, how much crunching would happen if the people that worked there actually did their daily job properly and with dilligence? Because I feel it would be much less and easily chalkable to poor management.
>I don't work videogames
Then your opinion is worthless.
>Be honest, how much crunching would happen if the people that worked there actually did their daily job properly and with dilligence?
The exact same.
>poor management.
That's exactly what it is, 100% of the time, management sets ridiculous goals and expect the developers to meet them regardless of how much overtime they need to clock.
worth less*
I can criticize political choices even if I don't work in politics, the same can be applied here, sure my opinion is worth less than someone who works there, but it's worth something
>I don't work at video games
Learn to code
No, he was right the first time.
did you even read my post?
Yeah and he was right the first time, your opinion is worthless and no amount of mental gymnastics will change that.
>if the people that worked there actually did their daily job properly and with dilligence?
You have no idea how games are made, do you?
Protip: Programmers are not the ones calling the shots in dev studios.
You sound like a kotaku writer, "my opinion on a thing I know NOTHING ABOUT matters!"
No, uneducated opinions are on the same level as flat out lying with the only difference being one person actually knows what they are talking about while the other doesn't but pretends to.
"Muh politics"
Same applies here. Uneducated opinions is what caused the near literal shitstorm of the last US elections
>Notice how all "proof" comes for former employees
Wow, it's like people don't want to get fired for publicly making their current employer look like shit.
>Employee work life balance
>Employing your nieces and nephews and wanting to spoil them more.
>I too have to do overtime from time to time
Something tells me that your McDonalds overtime doesn't have you working 14 hour days six or seven days a week for three or four months straight.
>Fuck developers
This but unironically. It's hard to feel pity for people who constantly go on social media to soapbox about how gamers should all go fuck themselves.
Why the fuck are you pretending to be me?
I work translation, we don't decide deadlines either. Sometimes deadlines are unquestionably bullshit, sometimes they're not and what's bullshit is the behavior of the rest of the translation team. There's also a lot of "You're done? Well, here's double the workload and half the time to do it. Yes we know we didn't mention it at the start, no you're getting paid the same, get to it" bullshit which is what I'm guessing is what happens to a lot of coders.
Abuse doesn't always come from the top.
Why would I care about investors?
They are leeches
It’s because they Animal crossing team has 2 games
Animal crossing and Splatoon
Plus it’s not like the switch nor animal crossing is going anywhere 8 more months of waiting sucks but people have waited for 20 fucking years for Banjo
8 months is nothing
What, its documented for
>Rockstar
>Bioware
>formerly Telltale Games
And more, current and past. Crunch and rushing to meet deadlines has always been a thing in gaming, and one of Yea Forumss most common complaints is "it feels rushed"
Thats like saying 1920s factories are dangerous and people shouldnt bother installing guard rails, work limits, and safety features because "everyone knows that its dangerous and has 12 hour shifts with no breaks, they signed up for it!"
Just because thats how it is now doesnt mean it has to be.
Could have prevented that with new switch models.
Most investors are parasites who want to make quick easy cash, valuing your own employees is far more important.
