It's not about Epic for me, it's about making such a big decision after promising another thing, made without the courtesy of consulting us first or at least giving us a heads up, and then basically telling us to eat shit when we raised concernes. I'd been just as mad had it been Origin, uPlay, GoG, or whatever, since this game wouldn't even exist without me or (most likely former) fans like me. Heck, I could easily switch over to a PS4 copy, but I don't want to support or reward such shitty business tactics and behaviour towards us.

This isn't a different glass, or even a different bottle, it's a different package for the bottle itself to go in. The bottle hasn't been damaged in transit, you're getting the exact wine you paid for, but the delivery package it came in is different.

It's a real shame how so many people try to run scams like this on kickstarter, that place gave us so many great games but it's cases like this that people remember. It always seems to be big names in the industry who try that too.

However the manufacturer of the car you were going to buy decides that only one dealer can sell it despite being advertised at another dealership at a specific price. That dealer refuses to add in standard features such as air conditioning and a radio that the first dealership was offering yet still charges the same price. Sure, the car works and I can drive it but I'm paying the same as I would and am getting less out of it. If the car doesn't start I can't refer to the manual because the dealer didn't have one.

Not him, but you two really aren't. Modern Warfare 2 was one of the most anticipated dude-bro wide reaching games of all time with no personal investment by the millions of people that were interested in it and in fact most of them wouldn't even know about this.
In contrast, Shenmue III is a literal who game made for boomers who paid to maybe get a game they'll like. It doesn't even look visually grabbing so it's banking HARD on nostalgia. People actually invested something into this and got burned. Yes they are. The game is attempting to make profit. Turning off the wider audience they could get is bad. Having that wider-audience bad mouthing the game and putting OTHER people off is even worse. The game doesn't appeal on its own and really needs a hype-machine and it ain't looking so good right now.
Phoenix Point has a better chance at being a success at the moment because it actually looks good. I don't mean as a game, but it's visually a modern game. That the devs flat-out admitted that their "early adopters" or whatever were basically loans that didn't matter won't mean anything.

It's hilarious how this is the only argument you fucking toddlers have against the series. Those rdv parts where extremely rare and it wouldn't have been a problem in Shenmue 2 anyway even without the pass time option since that game was stock full of side content.
