The funny thing is that Transformed, a game people hail as one of the kings of the genre, runs at 30 FPS on all consoles it launched on. Of course that would mean PC is the best option for 60, but any falseflaggers that brought up >30 FPS in these threads or cared about the frame rate probably don't actually play the games to know their shit and probably didn't have any intention to play the new game anyways.

The only really disappointing thing is that most of the new stages are really fun, but 8 of them are from the first All Stars Racing and 1 is from Transformed, out of 21 in total, and while most of them got visual updates and even some additions to add more challenge/extra routes, it can feel a bit underwhelming to play since a lot of the content is from the predecessors (but I personally dont mind since the driving in Transformed and TSR is much better than ASR1). I myself just wish they went the extra mile and just brought over all the Sonic stages from the previous games and mixed in new stages along with them, but that's why I'm holding out hope for some DLC. There's also no podium animations and the story is pretty much an afterthought. Otherwise, it's basically just Transformed but with all car based stages, and I can get behind that, since to me those were the best sections of that game.

I've grown more of an appreciation for it since I decided to play it some more to prepare for TSR. It's a charming racer despite how basic and rough it feels.
I'm basically in this stance. Transformed had better stage variety and spectacle, but the car sections were the best parts for me as well. Roster in the first game was also much better, I agree.

It gets boring really fast.
The main thing holding it together is the team mechanic. There's an option for playing the game without team mates, and it really highlights this problem.
At the end of the day, in order to win races, since you'll usually spend most of the time in 1st place, and your teammates lagging behind, you'll just end up spamming the Item Transfer button, in order to build up your Team Ultimate, and propel them into the lead.
In order to win team races, you gotta win as a team and accumulate more team work points.
So just spam item transfer, and skim boost like crazy. Less about skill this one, compared to Transformed.
Also, if your opposing teams use their Team Ultimate on the last lap, you can just restart the race, since they'll almost automatically be granted victory at this point.
The race tracks themselves are very basic. Since they reuse some from the older All Stars Racing games, some end up being much shorter, while other way longer. Makes it feel inconsistent.
The music is the best part of this game, hands down. Just buy the soundtrack and call it a day.
Mario Kart 8 and CTR will bring you more enjoyment than this after thought.
I think SEGA is just gonna quietly let this game die. I don't see DLC saving it, sadly.

Along with Spyro himself we're going to be adding three characters from the Spyro series when the Spyro and Friends grand prix is released. So far we've narrowed down our choices to six characters but we'd like you to tell us which three you'd want to see in the final game. The characters to choose from are:

I'm kind of the opposite. As someone who absolutely loved Transformed, I've already put more hours into TSR than MK8D. It's just really addictive to me to try and find the fastest routes and try and keep the flow going in the stages, or experiment with new tricks, or just make weird or cool looking cars with the paint apps and vinyls. I've yet to even touch the time trials.
I imagine they may just let the game die out with no additional content at all, but damn would that be a shame. I myself would gladly leave the old games behind if the few Sonic stages from the All Stars Racing games got ported into the game as DLC alongside a few new stages, as well as them filling in the roster gaps with a couple extra teams.

It's probably just SEGA still not giving Sumo a good enough budget to work with, and they really fucked it in this case, even with the team trying to make the best of it and still shoving in plenty of great fanservice and homages to the franchise's history.

All the good sonic team members disbanded over a decade ago, that's what happened. The reason people loved Mania was because yeah it was essentially a fangame with a studio budget, but it invoked the same feelings of passion you'd see from the Sonic Team of old. It understood what made Sonic well... Sonic. Great level design, 1:1 if not improved controls and physics, and fantastic visuals and music. Not like Nu-Sonic Team who are all about straight lines and holding X to barrel through literal lines of enemies.

I'm pretty sure classic adventure is just the vanilla adventure from the original game. Same roster, one character for the entire adventure, no customization, no difficulty options. Nitro Fueled adventure is the one that brings all the new stuff and there is no "in-between" option. Don't quote me on this but that's how I've understood the two adventure modes.

Yeah, I had a friend once who joined a Yea Forums discord group for a racing game a while back because he thought it'd be innocent enough. He said it was good for like a week or two, but once the game came out and the dust settled for everyone, every single channel devolved into shitposting because there was nothing left to do or talk about. It's exactly why having a general for this game would be a bad idea because once we run out of things to talk about, it gets so much worse. You seen places like the Sonic general? They barely even discuss the games and just shitpost and post ships to artificially hit the bump limit. It's why I've even been tempted to say we shouldn't make a new thread the minute every previous one dies because we run the risk of running this into the ground. At least things will improve next friday, but still.

I understand where you are coming from but discords and generals highly volatile. Having a group of people with shared interest can be a great time. When everyone is respectful and the focus on the interest remains the primary focus it gets even better. Sadly that only last for so long. Egos start to flare up, personalities begin to clash, and the shitposting consumes all. Regrettably, It's just doomed to fail. However, we can have a lot of good times in these threads so all hope is not lost. I"m not saying you shouldn't or can't be social either. If you like playing with certain people you can always add them to your friends list in game and on discord.
