ENB's do not work in New Vegas. The detailed shadow setting is extremely important in adding in dynamic shadows everywhere but the shadows transition in and out of existence on the tops and edges of the screen no matter your FOV. It is extremely annoying and makes ENB's pointless in NV.

Remember, never take EDE to the Followers. He looks much better with the armor the BOS gives him and he doesn't make an annoying as fuck buzzing noise all the time, unlike what happens if you take him to the followers.

It wasn't the only problem but it was one of them. Turns out power armor and energy weapons don't count for much when you're outnumbered 10 to 1 (and your enemy has easy access to armor piercing rounds).
Their biggest problem is that they live in the past and refuse to move on. They have no interest in making new things, recruiting more soldiers or trading with outsiders. If they had their way the wasteland would remain in a barbaric state with no progress and no future.
Meanwhile the NCR is an industrial nation with a standing army that manufactures resources including weapons and ammunition and has their own scientific branch researching ways to improve food production.

I just installed NV on a new computer. I haven't played it for years and can't remember how I modded it, but I did use FOMM as my mod manager. It let me easily switch the load order of mods. I guess I'll use it again this time.

Why do the fallout games have such a lackluster modding scene compared to skyrim? Sure, there are plenty of gameplay/weapon/armor/overhaul mods for NV, but look at all the high-quality quest and new world mods that skyrim gets. Lots of fleshed-out mods with expansive interesting quests with professional-level voice acting and hundreds or even thousands of lines of dialogue.

Meanwhile in NV you're lucky to find a single quest mod with voiced dialogue from a downie kid breathing into a potato mic. The only even somewhat passable quest mods for NV are the someguy2000 ones, and even those are totally lackluster in comparison to skyrim mods, only looking good in comparison to the lack of anything else halfway decent in the NV scene.
And don't even get me started on FO3's scene, where all you have is a couple janky gameplay tweaks and weapon packs that were basically just alpha tests for later NV mods of the same type. I don't think there's a single quest mod of note for FO3, period.

I recently started playing through FO4 again after having given up on it shortly after launch. There’s a surprising amount of quest mods, which is a big reason why I decided to give it another go around. The ones I’ve done so far have been really enjoyable and had pretty professional VA work overall. Some quests I legitimately couldn’t remember if they were vanilla or if they were ones I downloaded until a little ways into them.

After I got FO4 for free, I decided to check out nexus to see what mods there were for it. And this was a couple years after it released, so all the overhaul top mods SHOULD be there. Instead all I see is texture packs and item packs. No gameplay overhauls whatsoever.

More content is always a good thing though. And it's not like NV doesn't have some obvious gaps where more quest/area content would've been welcomed. For example, look at how half-baked the legion is in the game, due to cut content and time constraints. Would've been the perfect opportunity for a mod team to make more custom quests that are legion-centric or have a new world space over in arizona so we see more of that society than just their forward operating base.

the ortega questline was buggy as fuck for me, due to the way they decided to include both path as the same quest. I remember doing a legion playthrough and ended up getting locked out of the questline where you help them bomb the strip because I started the "other end" of the questline which starts as something seemingly unrelated unless you know ahead of time.

Have you actually tried any of them? The mod you're referring to just adds a couple pointless empty buildings. As far as actual CONTENT, there is almost none. There's a mod to make Vulpes a companion, a mod that restores some very minor little side quest, and that's basically it. Anything else you see as far as mods doesn't actually add new areas, new quests, new NPCs with dialogue, and so on.

And remember, we're talking in comparison to what Skyrim gets.

Terrible idea. It'd be like an even worse version of what happens in TES games when you play as a beast race like khajit/argonian, which are supposed to be totally different from the other races, and with the exception of a small handful of lines, people treat you exactly the same.

If you're going to do radically different races like that, you need to put the time and effort into having lots of unique dialogue and interactions and effects based on the race you choose. I juts don't see that happening. And it would be lame as fuck to be a ghoul but then be treated exactly the same except for a small number of specific dialogue encounters.

How would you ever balance a super mutant player character? Would they have a lower maximum intelligence cap due to senility? They are immune to basically all regular human ailments except mental degredation of extreme age, and some of them are immune to even that like Marcus is.
All of the super mutant team members in Tactics have some individual quirk or are otherwise outliers in some way so that they wouldn't be overpowered. But on average, super mutants are simply overpowered.

The problem is that super mutants are not actually stupid. Some of them are just really really old and sometimes even that doesn't dull their brains. The FEV doesn't attack and destroy brain cells. It just can't properly maintain them for hundreds of years. Also nightkin are masters of stealth so their agility shouldn't really be unnecessarily capped.

The first super mutant mission isn't even difficult. Everything you need to kill in St. Louis is a low level mutant without access to the god-tier weapons, and you have an armored personnel carrier. The mission you're remembering as a horrifying hell of 50 caliber instakills is Osceolla.

Old World Blues is the worst fucking DLC I have had to play in any game ever, its a 5-6 hours long fetch quest with a bunch of dick refrences. I still got the lonesome ranger or whatever the fuck its called. Im thinking about just doing the last part of the main story then uninstall the game. Fuck this faggy ass DLC.

No legit, I hated the DLC. I just finished it, I fucking hated every second of it.
The 25 min dialog in the beginning, the 5-6 hours of fetch quests, the high school. The bullet sponge enemys, the big scorpion in the end was way too easy and killing those robot nerds was also way to easy.

I like the DLC for the story but I'll give you that the game is really boring on its own, the difficulty from the enemies mostly come from them having a shitload of health, they don't do that much damage and are fairly easy to disable but good lord do they take a long time to die (aside from human enemies), and I usually do the DLCs in order so I'm usually 100 everything. Quests are repetitives, for instance the stealth suit require you to do the same thing 3 times, there's often only one way to do things and the rewards aren't that interesting.

But then again Im not a fan of the entire gimmick with everything talking, like the sink, toaster etc, the humor on its own was weak imo.

I didnt get to enjoy the story as the gameplay on Big MT was so bad, so I guess I'll have to read it online, maybe I'll be able to replay it later and enjoy it more then, who knows.
