It would be difficult but make a danganronpa game where you are really a contestant and not just the bystander solving the cases. Where you can kill someone at any time, hide evidence, stage scenes and what not, and then try to throw everyone else off during the trial. If you wait too long then the normal sequence of events occurs but then when more of the environment opens up it leaves you with even more potential ways to kill someone and get away with it.
That would be my optimal danganronpa, but there would be so many variables that it would be nigh impossible to pull off.

I'd love for something like Danganronpa-IF but as a game. Great thing about the setup is the infinite possibilities with the same group of people. You can go anywhere with it. Perhaps even further develop characters (from our pov) through new scenarios.
Obviously it can't realistically happen with it being a remake-ish of sorts since people would complain, but having in text form like DR-IF would be just as wonderful. But alas, we can't have nice things.
