Speaking of smash music, does anyone find it underwhelming in general? It seems like the vast majority of them are either shit picks, or awful remakes. Remixes constantly do not sound good because they keep making it upbeat rock when it doesn't work well at all.
For example, rather than including anything else from Fates great OST, we get four (4) versions of Lost in Thoughts.

A lot of the songs are really boring or full of shitty engrish, I genuinely don't get what people like about them. There is a few good songs, Battle For Everyone's Soul is genuinely a cool final boss theme, but for the most part I find it Meguro's worse work. Not even OP, but as someone who loves Star Fox their music selection sucks for Smash. It’s just rehashed shit from previous games and the only few new remixes are from Zero (none of which are any better than anything else we’ve gotten). We should have gotten at least one song from Adventures seeing as we have an AT representing it now; that game’s worst songs still put Zero’s “best” to shame.

And you missed the entire point of what a remix was, especially in smash's context. Remixes aren't there solely to be the original but higher quality, they're there to be good fight songs, pay homage to a series, etc. i.e. Spiral Mountain contains multiple world themes from Banjo Kazooie, the Shin Oganishima remix takes classic chiptunes and turn it into a battle medley, Donkey Kong/ Donkey Kong Jr. remix does both, etc.
Your definition of what a remix should be is extremely limited

Lost World had some good tracks, but it did pale in comparison to Unleashed and Colors
Mania and TSR at the very least have brought some bangers though

Actually, the game has a decent mixture of remixes and new songs. I was surprised by the amount of original stage music there was. And I addressed Lost World already in another post Forces is an acquired taste, I like a handful of songs, but the vast majority I can do without since the synth gets pretty annoying/ruins some tracks and I'm not a fan of dubstep/trap music
