After this drought there are too many games I'm interested in coming within months of one another.
Astral Chain, Daemon X Machina, Dragon Quest Builders 2, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Luigi's Mansion 3, and Ultimate Alliance 3.
Out of all of those Astral Chain is the only one I am definitely getting at launch.

Does this game have multiplayer? I'm really looking for Soul Sacrifice and Freedom War replacement.

IIRC the game's listed as 1 to 2 players, though they haven't shown any multiplayer yet. Maybe the campaign is co-op with each playing as a twin, maybe one control the cop and the other the Legion, maybe multiplayer's its own separate game mode like in Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta.

Daemon x Machina would be closer to that. Online and local 4 player co-op, pick missions from hub, etc. Also competitive mode in an update. Astral Chain is more like playing through Bayonetta. The 1-2 player mode listed is probably local play for taking control of the legion.

I buy platshit games like every time they come out because I fall for the hype but I lose interest in the game in like a week. Only platinum games I've truly liked so far was Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 1. I 100% both of those games. I hated Metal Gear Rising, couldn't really get into Bayo 2 for whatever reason, Nier: Automata was pretty decent but I stopped playing after Ending B or C, I forgot which -- the story never really engaged me and I didn't find combat all that decent.

This is still high on my list of games to play, but not get. Currently its a rental but god I hope its good and it sells well. I want Platinum and Nintendo's relationship to keep going. There's a lot going on with this game based on the treehouse streams. I really like the police work segments, they are a nice change of pace from combat, which I think may be one of my big issues with platinum games. The story looks like typical anime garbage tho.

So is it just the five legions or are those only what they decided to show? I remember hearing that you can capture legions, but we didn't see any of that in the gameplay that I can remember. I'm not needing something like Pokemon or Xenoblade collecting, but if they are going to bring up captured legions I would at least like a decent number and variety.

It's stylish action like Bayonetta, has some stuff from MGR and Automata too since same devs. Similar combat elements like perfect dodge/guard/parry, unlockable attacks and skills, etc. Switch between your different legions that follow you for different combos and abilities.

The way some legions work is that they can be put in a sort of "Auto" mode while you command the other chained one. However "Auto" mode Legions will disappear after a bit.
