It's okay, but it ain't what I wanted.

thats nice, you are free to enjoy what you like. i think if our old friends had another real game after it it wouldnt have been so poorly received

Fun game, just terrible Banjo-Kazooie game.

If it were a new IP, it'd have fared much better.

This couldve been minecraft, but microsodr fucked it up

sorry

Agreed.

is a bad banjo kazooie game.
They mixed two games that were in development hell and sold the demonic spawn as a new banjo game.

For this reason im not sure to trust rare with another banjo game or even a remake.

People only say this because JonTron said it. The game oozes banjo kazooie charm in the best way possible

>JonTron
I don't watch him and I feel the same way as that user. Please stop spewing shit that makes no fucking sense simply because muh e-celeb.

ah yes, look at how charming these characters are
dont you want to play as them for the entire game

>If it were a new IP, it'd have fared much better.
Critically, maybe. But it probably would've faded into obscurity like all of Rare's other original IPs during that era unfortunately.

Not him but I like the redesign quite a bit. They just made banjo strangely confident

BK reboot followed by Grabbed by the Ghoulies reboot soon.

As someone who has 100%'d this game, I wouldn't say it has Banjo-Kazooie charm. Have you read the dialogue in the game? It feels like a cry for help.

It's below mediocre thanks to bad physics and boring missions. Grinding checkpoint race number 112 in a car shaped like a dick is still more palatable than Tooie though.

I loved it too, but fuck if the Smash trailer doesn't highlight just how ugly the character designs were. I can't believe I used to think this looked good. But I still 100%'d it and enjoyed every second. Terrarium of Terror needs to come back in a real Banjo game.

Also fun fact, the stretch Banjo does on Spiral Mountain in the Smash trailer is from N&B.

It was astounding and I share your love for it. The possibilities were endless and made for a lot of dumb recreations and ideas

I still would

It is grindy and repetitive. I got my kicks by making a vehicle out of the first hey engine I got, and a seat. I would ride it like Eggman fast as hell and won every race like that. Then you get retractable wings.

That Klongo saves the world game was a nice diversion too, I got mad

Honestly I wish they got at least one more from nuts and bolts. It doesn't even have to be major.

I don't think people would throw a fit if Kazooie had her wrench in their upsmash

jet engine I'm retarded

>Asked to build a fighter plane to defend an egg against other planes? Build a giant carryall sarcophagus with auto AA turrets to airdrop over the item
It's legitimately a good game, and you are my nigger.

This. Banjo was my first video game and I'm a diehard, completed Nuts and Bolts, loved it and would play it again, it's a fucking sad game.

That banjo smile reminds me of the red wageslave frog that has a forced smile because of work and lives in constant extreme stress.

So that banjo just looks like to me like he absolutely hates what he's doing with every fiber of his being but he must, or else

Attached: banjohank.jpg (974x733, 167K)

The only thing from nuts and bolts that needs to be in is the hair for both of them. That weird cylinder fade thing they got going on doesnt work. Give me sculpted hair and feathers

Forget N&B, this is the REAL contrarian pick, even if it was decent.

Attached: wmwS3dr.jpg (720x720, 71K)

If N&B was treated more like a spinoff than a third Banjo-Kazooie game, almost all hatred of it would've disappeared.

Attached: fact.jpg (2524x1419, 232K)

It was a fun/good game but they shouldn't have slapped banjo kazooie on the title

That would require a third main-line game.
Retarded memefag.

>Fun game, just terrible Banjo-Kazooie game
Disagree. The only reason any of you think that is because it wasn't on the N64.

i want to FUCK nuts & bolts humba wumba

Attached: 1532640721535.jpg (1024x576, 78K)

This is only true because it’s poor sales caused their to never be another normal banjo game. If this game sold well and then Banjo Threeie came out a few years later no one would have had a problem with it. Hell, of a decent banjo platformer comes out now people will probably stop having a problem with nuts and bolts

I loved it, especially when I got the towing parts. I made several mecha from Battletech, including one with a working repair bay, as well as some other stuff like a Forklift with movable forks, a 1000+ mph plane that abused physics glitches, tilt rotor aircraft, and rear steering cars. The only people who didn't like it simply lack creativity.

Humba looks cute.

Wumba and Mumbo were the only egregious examples. Banjo and Kazooie looked fine, and all the new shit looked good too. Also Rare games have also looked grosser than the average kids game

Nuts and Bolts is a terrible game even ignoring the IP misuse.

No, it's a fact, and it WAS a side game. It wasn't Banjo fucking Threeie, it was something different. Fact is, Banjo was neglected as a series to such a point that Nuts and Bolts coming out not being a core Banjo game is exactly why people are offended by it.

honestly a modern example of how they should have marketed this was how suda51 handled Travis Strikes Again, say its to introduce a new generation to the series' style but then next E3 show off a sequel everyone will get a kick out of

Humba looks great though, just entirely different.

Yeah, but to be honest I never felt Rare had ANY leadership after Nintendo. Suda51 is named after Suda, he runs it, and he was able to walk out and EXPLAIN what the fuck they were doing. By simply lacking a creative voice, Microsoft-Rare left Microsoft to just drop the game like it didn't need explaining and release it all smiles like it wasn't the strangest fucking thing to do.

That's absolute bullshit.

If MICROSOFT actually gave two shits about the IP they wouldn't have used it purely as a nostalgia coat of paint over a half finished kart building game.

What the flying fuck does kart racing have to do with banjo and kazooie? Whenever an IP has a kart title you just know they're milking it until it's dry. It was a fucking meme.

I liked it too but it was an offensively terrible concept and I think anybody who doesn't like it is more than justified not to.

Why is this one and a couple other adam sandler movies funny but all the others are shit?

Yep. I'll boot it if they put in on Xbox Games PC tho

It's the best in the series, nintendies shit on it because they didn't play it.

nuts and bolts has better writing than the first two games

Because it isn't, if you enjoy that type of humor you probably enjoy them all.

God I fucking hope so.

I enjoyed happy gilmore but I don't feel like I can remember any others.

I remember trying the demo for it.
It was okay.

Attached: bk4.jpg (735x568, 134K)

Rare Collection would be a godsend. I feel Microsoft has the power to do these things but aren't paying attention.

It still likely would have gotten bashed because the series would have been making a return after a long absence with nothing more than a quirky spin-off title. Look at what happened with Federation Force.

Makes me wonder if that new Lego Racer game coming out will be any good. Same basic premise of building up cars in little building blocks.

I still remember the day my friend announced to the rest of us that the new Banjo Kazooie game was going to be ... "Vehicle-Based".
I remember my heart sinking...breaking. I knew it would be utter shit from the moment he said those 2 curs-ed words. "Vehicle-Based".

I eventually got the game back when I was collecting 360 games since most of them were like a dollar (though this one was full price). Lo and behold, it was even worse than I imagined. Shovelware shit with awful controls and just bad vibes all around.

If it was a new game with new characters I would be happy with calling it decent but as it stands it's a turd on my life.

im not even mad about this game. just indifferent. i played about half of it and just wasnt interested enough to continue. the missions are boring, the graphics and art are a trainwreck. some of the soul is there but its a lot more cynical. its not terrible but it could be a lot better.

but im not mad because in the same month, bk remaster came to xbla. then a few months later bt came. so im satisfied. seriously imagine if they were still trapped on the n64

Because it was the 2nd one he made, after Billy Madison, and those are his 2 best by far before time changed things

>What the flying fuck does kart racing have to do with banjo and kazooie?
What is Diddy Kong Racing for $200

>People only say this because JonTron said it.
>t. born in 2000
If you were actually around when the game was originally teased in 2006 only to be later unveiled as Nuts & Bolts you would know how pervasive disdain for Nuts & Bolts has always been. This isn't new.

It’s more of a puzzle game than a cart racing game. Anyone only delusional retards think this was Microsoft’s fault. All evidence in interviews and actual statements by the dev team suggest this was the kind of game they wanted to make, they made the demo of the building mechanic and decided to combine it with there dead version of Banjo Threeie. That’s it, it’s not a crime that they wanted to move on from collectathon platformers. Also I guess you didn’t realize this, but’s it been a longer time between now and the release of nuts and bolts than there was between the release of the original and N&B, the game was hardly nostalgic as tooie was only seven years old. It was a relatively long time yes, but Banjo was far from retro at that point. Truth is half of you fags supposedly yearning for another banjo platformer never even played tooie, as there’s plenty of classic collectathon platforming between the two of them.

More writing does not mean better.

>I am a toddler who started off with a bias against the game and didn’t like it
What a surprise

is there a site or video with the script of the game. i never beat it and would like to read what i missed out on

L.O.G. was right

It's a fantastic game, the issue is that it's not a Banjo game and that's what everyone was expecting. The customization, level design, and story were actually pretty top tier. It failed only because it was a different game than the IP said.

>If only you knew how bad things really are

50 First Dates was great.

I really fucking loved the car customization, mechanic. Too bad people would rather have a 5/10 platforming rather then a 7/10 Nuts&bolts game.

Are you trying to imply she's ugly?

Attached: tumblr_inline_nnply45o5e1r3wwhp_1280.png (193x306, 100K)

I don't think so, people still shit on stuff like Metroid Federation Force or Hey Pikmin.

Niche gameplay, for better and worse, but terribly ugly. Sound design was alright, but why they decided a half-muted gargle was the best way to handle characters speaking I have no idea. Mumbo looked like absolute shit and I would fug Humba.

Probably for the best that it sold so poorly.

If you've got like an hour to burn this guy outlines a lot of its strengths and weaknesses.
