One good trick with early Skaven is have a second stack made of nothing but Skavenslaves. They'll give you plenty of bodies incredibly cheap, but the funniest thing you can do is have your regular stack sit in ambush in front of them whenever you feel like a fight is coming. The AI will trip over itself to try and crush a weak stack like that and then you get into an battle extremely tilted in your favour.

I do co-op campaigns from time to time with a pal. We each give each other a couple specialized units so we have something to do during the others battles. Like cav, artillery, magic, shock unit etc. it’s pretty fun. Just never ever do vampire+anyone not a vampire.

Warhammer 2 is still the best TW game but I hope the improvements to characters and performance make it into Warhammer 3 from Three Chinkdoms. Diplomacy stuff would be nice too but it's harder to do with the races present in Warhammer.

Their garbage morale isn't even the biggest problem I have with Skaven. A Skaven startup is by far the most brutal thing I've experienced with the game. Maybe I just have a complete lack of understanding of their campaign mechanics or something. I feel like 50 turns in and I've made about 10 turns worth of progress.

The reasons many people despise Aos aren't actually related to AoS itself, for the most part:
A lot of people are still upset about the end times, and AoS is the End Times' bastard child. As for AoS itself, it changes characters races' names to retarded shit , did really weird shit with the lore, and feels like a very sanitized, pg-13 product compared to Warhammer Fantasy.

First off, Clan Skyre from the DLC is really fucking broken and fun.

Using your ranged DPS units correctly is the key. Flamer units and ratling gunners are the GOAT. They can't shoot over units or through your own. You use them to flank around.

Surround the enemy and overwhelm them with your superior numbers
Also, don't ever fight when you don't have superior numbers and remember that weapons teams and rat ogres are your friends.

Both settings of Warhammer are rich in Lore and offer bride strokes of the world to discover that is beyond brutal war with giant armies, which is the main appeal in the first place.

since we're user and i don't care about being vain i am pretty smart so it puzzles the shit out of me why these games confuse me. I always just end up using auto resolve and abusing all the proper management things you need to do to keep up a strong economy and military. Thing is, I can usually win battles, it's just that auto-resolve always gets better results than I can get by a decent amount of casualties

because when i go into fights with my full army against a similar sized army, the auto-resolve usually will win the fight with only maybe a quarter of my army lost. If I win the fight, I might lose 10-20% more units. Is this one of those dunning-kruger things where the hobbyist sperg doesn't know how to converse with a layman?

Autoresolve is shit, i've played dark elves a lot on very hard and i know from experience that you can get like 600 kills from morathi's starting hydra or malekith's starting chariot if you're lazy and autoresolve. I consider myself decent but 600 kills with a chariot is a tall order for me even.

Generally: Swords beat spears. Spears beat large. Armor beats swords/spears. Armor piercing beats armor, but generally spends a lot of stat "budgets" to get armor piercing.
Look for your matchups and avoid enemy charge bonuses. With infantry, this can be accomplished by engaging with chaff to eat enemy charge, backing up chaff with the enemy unit counter, then backing the chaff out through your now favorably matched unit
Always be flanking. Always. Even with skirmisher units where possible.
Deep formations hold longer than long formations.
Long formations tie up more troops opening flank potentials
Cycle charge cavalry.
Charge chariots into thin units then pull them through manually.
Leadership is one of the most important stats. A unit that isn't holding is useless. Look for ways to dumpster enemy leadership to cause a route (e.g., projectiles, magic, fear, terror, flanking), which will allow you to run down that unit or doubleteam another unit.
Infantry generally fight poorly in shallow water
Monsters generally fight poorly in forest except poopoopeepees
Always keep units in reserve. When you see an opening, put large amount of force on that specific spot/unit to break the enemy line and skullfuck the backline or line up a sick flank (e.g., hit it with cav, magic, monsters/heroes, and/or elite infantry all at once).

Space Wolves are regarded as furries because they have the whole Wolves stick going on and are very very centered around them. This got more intense in 40k than in 30k where they're mostly Vikings.
