Beat him 4 times. Got lucky in one hunt and got 2 tickets. Couldn't do it solo. Can barely attack him after the speed up

Then you're not going to do it in a group. AT Nergi does so much damage that he can cart you failing around trying to hit everyone else. Honestly, the only monsters that are harder to solo is A.Leshen and debatably ExBehem.

Nerg gamma is more a universal filler that goes with your main set. It skill can be use by all kinds of players, much more than some of the other gamma pieces.

Oh I've beaten him in group with four long sword users where someone keep everyone safe with lifepowders, I normal play swaxe but weapon with such long recover frames is basically a death sentence consider how fast he is and that mini divebomb he can cancel into with any move

He can twoshot tank builds through Rocksteady, his jab ignores Autoskill mantle, can 3shot tank builds and he can spam it as long as he's facing you. Best way to deal with him is run a life steal set and stay behind his left forearm so he can't sit on you.
I wasn't using the LS, the fucking LS user kept flinching me.

I actually had quite a lot of fun with fighting Nergi both solo and duo (less so with a full party that involves the SOS randoms carting 9/10 times). Recommend making use of Felyne Moxie (via Voucher or otherwise) and Guts (from the Lunastra weapon that gives it). Found my possibility of being carted reduced drastically. Defeated AT Nergi w/ SNS, SA, and HBG.

I usually do AT hunts for the layered but nergs wasn't worth it. Plus I don't know if any of his parts would benefit me in how I play.

The set is really fucking good because it grants attack boosting skills, part breaker and life steal with 3 pieces. It also has a lot of gem slots. Ultimate set filler.

How do you play MHW user?

I solo him in 40 minutes with a HBG tank build that use pierce, enough guard skill that almost ALL attack does zero damage, and has the Vaal Hazak's regen skill. What does that make me?

I found myself only using 3 of the 5 parts, was gonna go for 4 of 5 but found my SA looks are too baller to give up on (and isn't that much a loss if at all)

It basically filler. The skill it offers is universal for all builds in the game. You make a set from you favorite armor set, and you use the nerg gamma as the remaining set.

How does he differ from the normal version? Is it like Xeno where they completely changed the way he fights?

Spikes grow faster into black. Moves faster. Has back hop slam of death. Hit's harder. Can be 2 shot-carted. I think 26k HP.

He has a few new moves
a really annoying follow up attack
he gets faster every time he roars unless you topple him over

What about the dive? Is it still the same?

>AT Nerg is faster than normal Nerg
>his damage output increase everything he howls
>his new attack consist of him flying behind his target, then dunking them
>his spike become harden instantly. Having him dive two time in a roll isn't uncommon

You have to do that dive thing. run away so he's behind you and your character will start doing this funny looking panicked run. At that point your roll turns into a dive and you get a ton of iframes

It does everything. You can solo most monsters with ease as you do non-commital attacks. Fast paced and very easy to stick on the monster with the dash attack. Or you can slap on wide range + wiggler for comfy team hunts as you will no longer lose to that one retard always carting.

nobody is saying anything about dive, but the fact he gets power up from dive now, the dive is easy to avoid, but spikes going black now means he not only gets a power up but you can't hit that part for the while.

I was able to solo him with my hunting horn. Took a few tries. That fast jump slam was really annoying to deal with.

Yeah it's the LS guys fault for tripping you, but there is literally no reason to not throw FF1 on your build for online play. You can usually avoid sacrificing all that much.

Some weapons have natural "super armor" on most attacks and won't be negatively affected by flinching as much. Stuff like HH and GS probably don't need FF1.

Lance, Gunlance, and Hammer in particular get super ultra cucked if they don't take FF1. At some point you have to accept that you're going to get perma-flinched and cart because of it if you don't take FF1 and end up in a party with an LS or IG user. They're going to trip you eventually even if they're really careful about it.

Solo is much easier. MP will only give you retards that won't stop dying.
If you can't even do it solo, then stop being brain dead and get some of these skills:
-Health Boost 3 (obligatory)
-Earplugs 5
-Divine Blessing 3
-Speed Eater
-Tool Specialist (don't really like it but I guess it can be good)
-Evade Extender (must have for certain weapons)
Use buffs, eat for defense (consider moxie), drop rocks, use turf war, mounts on later stages etc etc.
Go Drachen or whatever on the rest for damage and you should be golden. Unless you suck that much.

I switch to Dark Devourer cluster spam build at the nest due to time restraint. I wouldn't really recommend tanking AT nerg for +30 minutes.
