Did you know the Safari Zone is actually in Gen 2 but the area simply isn't used.
The common reason people think this is the case is Game Freak never figured out to get around the Glitch City bug where going back and talking to the guy at the entrance at zero steps would cause strange things to happen.
When the Safari Zone returned in Gen 3 the very first thing that happens is you immediately jump off a ledge so you can't go back.

Ironically, it was almost definitely Dynamax that exposed their retardation. It's almost confirmed that their own idiocy had them make every Dynamax Pokemon have an entirely different model from the original, which would've meant DOUBLING the 3D models they would've had to work with. But in trying to hide their own incompetence by cutting the NatDex, they crossed the one line their autistic fanbase couldn't handle, and broke the camel's back.

Aren't there multiple stages for Dynamax which would imply even more models? The clouds count down and we've seen that the clouds pop up with Dynamaxed Steelix. This would likely mean that there are 8 models per pokemon, standard, shiny, 3 for dynamaxed standard, 3 for dynamaxed shiny.

I don't have the link or image (someone else please post it) but I remember in an interview they were asking themselves if they spent too much time on HG/SS and if it had too much content. It was usually compared to their ORAS interview where the reason there is no Battle Frontier was literally because it was too challenging for mobile gamers.
No other monster collecting RPG series includes it entire roster in every single game. Balancing and accounting for 1000+ pokemon in terms of gameplay, moveset and campaign is not feasible.

Why would nintendo care about the main games? Most of the cash flow for pokemon comes from merchandising and now pokemon go. If anything, nintendo CAUSED this. As much as I hope this is the breaking point and the game bombs and Gamefreak finally gets its head out of its ass, I don't think it's going to happen. LGPE pretty much proved that. You have the hardcore parts of the fanbase making noise about this, but as soon as they say "oh all the Kanto pokemon are in!" you lose the genwunners and the casual audience that played pokemon go/LGPE. On top of that, all this yelling isn't going to dissuade moms from buying it for their kids. Pokemon is a household name, and it's going to be the hot game to buy the kids this season since it's on the kid friendly console. Shit's probably going to break 5 million copies sold easy by christmas, if not double that amount. It's like when Activision previewed cowadooty infinite warfare to the absolute worst reception the series had in history, and the shit still sold like 10 million+. Look at Riot games or Valve for examples of devs that got too big for their own good. Once a dev team becomes too big, they simply can't expand as efficiently as they once could, and the amount of time and money needed to put all this together is unfeasible, especially considering the games themselves don't even make up half of the yearly Pokemon revenue.

Their games shit money and they have the backing of the industry's biggest titan, they almost always have only one project in development at a time, and a near monopoly on one of the biggest and most influential IPs in video game and pop culture history. Nobody's asking them to rebuild Pokemon from the ground up and reinvent or deconstruct the series into something totally new and different. That costs a lot more than it should, but then again that line fits Game Freak perfectly so who knows. In any case, more sales is always better since it further cements the existing userbase along with likely drawing new people in as well. In addition, a higher quality game creates better word of mouth and loyalty for the brand itself (because let's face it, even with Pokemon still selling a ton the fanbase has become increasingly unhappy the last few generations due to perceived lower quality), both of which are invaluable for brands, especially for those like Pokemon with as much merchandise as it has generating even more cash for the brand.

laziness, they ported the other models from the 3ds game. Some speculate that the rest of them wouldn't fit on the cart with the assumption that dynamaxed pokemon are different models. With what we know about previous games this is almost 100% true.
